So, I have yet to get receive my copy of our new book in the mail, but I have been bouncing around the new topics on our forum, here, and reading everyone's opinion on what has changed. The biggest change to my meta game is the apparent increase in price for the marauders, making my old blender horde a lot less viable. So, with that in mind, I am reaching out to the experts here to ask if a new viable strategy for us is going to be MSU. I know some advocated a hybrid style of this with our previous book, but I am wondering if an entire army list with units containing no more than 10 or 12 models is now a new legitimate way to play. |

10-12 models seems a bit few but there is certainly a lot of incentive to play woc in a msu-style i would say. My list primary list is probably going to look something in the manner of core with chariots, horsemen and dogs, 2 units of crushers and perhaps 2 units of drogres, dp, chimera and bsb. something along the line of 11 drops. Not many ranks but certainly more than 12 models. |

The more i think about the warriors in my army the more I am inclined to take them in units of ten models, I think the new book has really snapped me out of the block mindset and started me thinking more flexibly , before I was using blocks 20 warrior models to get the most from cost of mark but I always found those blocks couldn't be every where at once and due to mark of khorne led into bad positions by chaff I think 10 warriors is fine just deploy them wider than the unit their facing across the board make sure you get max models base to base , having the flexible frontage will get more attacks than support from second rank Edited by swampy, Feb 3 2013, 03:11 AM.

From all the leaks it was screaming you must play MSU or your units will cost a stupid amount of points for very few models. All very well for the people like me who enjoy that style, but also making my army more expensive was unwarranted now. Seems that they want the trolls reduced cost to sell them for a core choice and by that also sell the overpriced (money wise throgg). Still going to have a flick through the book, compare the exact increase, see if anything at all else appeals to swap in, but very disheartened at the over the top rises on halberds and flails. All very well saying HW/shield warriors balance out the halberds however MSU all hammer style was always much more succesful for me. Meh. |

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I meant no more than 10-12 models per unit. |
