Been looking at the new book all day guys, yea morning the loss of my cheap maruders too, but the Forsaken are to me looking like good 5 man chaff anyone else think so?

It might just work, though I think I'd rather plunk down 3 trolls instead (assuming you have Throgg in your list). I think they'd make better chaff killers for us, but Forsaken are more reliable movement-wise since they are not stupid. For redirection I think you still can't do better than dogs, they are a great little cheap throw away unit.

If you want speed bumps, dogs now get a vanguard move. I think five Forsaken won't last more than a round of combat and will cost you a lot of points.

I tried a five man unit with the old book, they aren't fast enough, and cost too much...

But this is a new book, so give it a try, and let us know how it goes!

Not while they're Frenzied, they're not. Give them a try, but I don't expect them to work.

I'm going to be trying units of 5 as flankers.

An extra 5D3+5 attacks should help thin enemy units. The foresaken can then peruse whilst the warriors reform to take on another unit

Might work. I do think they are only useful in small units. With the random attacks and s4 I think a horde of them is awful.

Indeed - anyone considering a horde should be slapped. They should probably never go above 12 models in a unit at even that is pushing it.

I like the sound of this, they'd (hopefully) hit harder than hounds.

They seem promising, but frenzy gives them a big disadvantage as they could run away without our consent. A BSB might control their temper for a while however.

they the only way to get hatred in the army and per model thats as good as an extra attack or more will work great on low toughness things or if they get poison

I want to state this.

Tzeentch forsaken are very viable 5-10 man forsaken chaff. Why? Because the kind of damage that will be sent their way will be mitigated by MR. Who casts dwellers on 10 guys or less? No one.

You ever heard of shooting, man? They'll get mowed down by Helblaster Volley Guns or Organ Guns or things like that, not Fireballs. If you must pick a Mark for them, I say Khorne to really make their attacks sting.

They'll get mowed down by shooting no faster than any other forsaken unit. And if they really want to toss an organ gun or hellblaster into such a small unit well, LOL.

Why wouldn't they? It's over 100 VPs if you mark them, that's enough for a minor win. Good use of the gun if you ask me.
