Not enamoured of the footprint of warriors, and liking impact hits, well, chariots, chariots, chariots. SCs are nice too, but I think they actually are best in units of 3 after my experiences at the BAO. Putting an exalted with each in "2nd" rank gives some added flexibility and punch, even allowing them to charge out to prevent some crap. The DP of Khorne I was also impressed with. Im HOPING that the flood of drops will allow me to pick my match-ups as well as weather the storm of magic. Regardless, its just for fun. I'll run this at my next group monthly meeting. Khorne-ridden Beasts (2500pts) Daemon Prince, Armour, DofK, Flight. FLBreath, Scaled, Feeder, Charmed Shield, Dragonbane, SwofStriking - 390 Points Exalted Hero, Halberd, Juggernaut, MofK - 181 pts Exalted Hero, BSB, Halberd, MofK, DaeMount (Barded), Dragonhelm - 211 pts 4x Khorne Chariots - 480 pts 7x Marauder Horsemen, FC, MofK, Shields, Spears, Axes - 170 pts 7x Marauder Horsemen, FC, MofK, Shields, Spears, Axes - 170 pts 3x5 Chaos Warhound - 90 Pts 2x Gorebeast Chariot of Khorne -280 pts 3x Skullcrushers of Khorne, FC, EnscWeap - 264 pts 3x Skullcrushers of Khorne, FC, EnscWeap - 264 pts |

I think book scenarios blow for specialty armies like this one, Tried a Beastie list out a few weeks ago, all Tuskgor chariots, 3 units of harpies, 2 Slythes, flying Doombull. Fortitude scenario no chance at all, the army hit like a ton of bricks but had no staying power. Thought I'd try it with Warriors next, double or triple Chimeras, but they have less wounds but more "saving" power. I think 8th is the edition of massed infantry... But I like your list! |

The two that seem to nail them are the watchtower and Blood & Glory, right? The first, my group just has an understanding that you re-roll 6s when determining scenario. The second is why you see in Fortitude 7 in my list. An alternative on B&G is to continue playing when an army is broken but award VPs for having done it. |

Liking the "no Chimeras" in your list, Saving you a LOT of points! I loaned my book out to a buddy, he's dusting off his old Slaanesh mortals from 2004. Ah well, we'll have plenty of time to get rolling on a game soon. Mine were mostly Khorne with a dash of Slaanesh marauder cav. Liking the chariots in the new book, a lot! |

I think Chariots are the #1 or #2 spot for MVP in the new book. Especially the GBCh. They are awesome in combat. I know everyone is in love with SCs, but mine did very poorly in 6 of the last 7 games, though as I said, I think they will do better in max 3 per unit. I tried 4 and the 4th just got in the way, Ive tried 6, too many points if you cant get them into the fight. And, they are a magnetic target for magic and warmachines like no tomorrow. That has its uses, but it also means your heavy hitters are throwing sponge-Bob toys if they only show up with maybe two models to the fight, and sometimes 1. So right now I'm gonna be trying out the Chimera too in a 3k game, basically just adding it into that ridden list to see how it performs along side my Khorne DP. |

Monstrous cavalry seem to attract lots of attention. Started out with Ogres, continued on through Empire and now both Chaos books. Devastating when they hit, but if they get whittled down they'll need support or just go after smaller units. I hesitate to put six in a unit, know what nastiness will come their ways! I guess that's good though, for keeping a big unit of Warriors intact for a turn or two... |

im running an all mounted list as well at 2k i have 2 x 5 dogs and 20 MH for core 2 x 5 knights for special 2 x 3 SC for rare bsb exalted nurgle hero sorc general. Not sure what to do for the next 500 up to 2.5K i am contemplating a lvl 4 Nurg DP... killy AND magic hard to ignore. or possible a jug chaos lord... how has you MoK DP been working out? Regarding chariots, i like the new models, how good is the core chariot? or is it better to take gore beast? if i take gore beast i will still need to up my core by 100pts at 2.5k...another 10 dogs...or a core chariot? good luck with your chariot spam! |
