Hi there fellow champions! As this is my first post on these forums, I'd like to greet you all sincerely! My main opponent is a guy who loves his gunlines (be it Empire or his TKs). I'm pretty sure I can just flood his TombKings with 1+ and 3+ AS and totally wreck him (though this is yet to be proven, as I'm yet to face TKings with the armybook), but the empire gunline is just really harsh on me. It was hard with the previous armybook and seems to be still just as so. The army setup I'm talking about is roughly 30+ handgunners, 2x hellblaster (both with an engineer) and a cannon or two. This is usually accompanied with some outriders, a steam tank, demigryphs, a horde of halbardiers and a hurricanum. To make this funnier, my opponent almost always brings Balthasar Gelt (and some other characters - a grand master, a BSB and so on). This army is more or less his roster created against my Warriors, and I have to admit it is really hard for me to win against it. We only play friendly games in a rather small gaming group, but we tend to get rather competitive, so I'm pretty sure that's what he'll bring the next time we'll meet (just as I always take my tooled up Slann and sallies when I play my LM :$ ). I need to make a roster capable of massacring his shooty/spelly/tanky list a couple of times, as he is starting to brag about his near-constant winnings a bit to loud. This is what I'm thinking of: 2500 pts Warriors of Chaos Army Sorcerer Lord of Tzeentch Mark of Tzeentch; General; Lore of Metal; Magic Level 4 Armour of Destiny, Chaos Familiar, Scaled Skin, Dawn Stone Disc of Tzeentch Exalted Hero of Tzeentch Mark of Tzeentch; Flail; Chaos Armour; Shield; Battle Standard Talisman of Preservation, Third Eye of Tzeentch, Soul Feeder Disc of Tzeentch Troll King Throgg 5 Trolls 2ndWeapon 6 Forsaken of Khorne 6 Forsaken of Khorne 5 Chaos Warhounds Vanguard 5 Chaos Warhounds Vanguard 5 Marauder Horsemen of Khorne Mark of Khorne; Frenzy; Flail; Javelin; Standard 6 Chaos Ogres of Nurgle Mark of Nurgle; Great Weapon; Heavy Armour; Standard; Musician 1 Chimera Regenerating Flesh 1 Chimera Regenerating Flesh 1 Chaos Giant of Nurgle This way I've got: - 4 flyers (2 of which are pretty tough, other 2 are pretty killy), - 3 vanguarding screens (one of which is killy enough to handle a machine or some hgunners) - another 2 screen units with M6 and a considerable punch - 2 MI units that are likely to be having fun with his horde and demigryphs - a Giant to get through the tank or support the MI In my book this army seems to be fast and resistant enough to rip the shooty part of the enemy, and killy enough to get through that demigryphs and halberdiers. It also is pretty resistant to Lore of Metal damage spells, which usually tends to hurt Chaos Warriors a lot... What do you guys think? Any suggestions? |

I would make up your entire core out of trolls, drop the forsaken and horesmen for another unit of trolls. Find the points to put flaming breath on the chimeras, two well placed S4 flaming templates will wreck that halberdier unit. I would drop the giant and find the points for a unit of dragon ogres if your special section can fit it, with great weapons they should chew through that steam tank pretty handily. It may be worth it to go with lore of tzeentch as you can possibly gain the ability to steel spells from gelt or maybe just infernal gateway him into oblivion. You'll get 7 S7 hits on average and even with his magic res and what not he won't be able to save them all. |
