Hey all,

A thread over in the tactics forum got me thinking about a Slaanesh-themed list and the validity of the mark..In an effort to try and take advantage of the inherent strengths of a slaanesh army, I threw together this list;

Daemon Prince; Mark of Slaanesh, Daemonic Flight, Chaos Armor, Level 4 Wizard, Scaled Skin, Flaming Breath, Chaos Familiar, Allure of Slaanesh, The Other Trickster's Shard, Charmed Shield, DragonBane Gem
555pts

1x Chariot; Mark of Slaanesh
115pts

6x Forsaken; Mark of Slaanesh

5x Chaos Hounds; Vanguard
40pts

Chimera; Regeneration, Breath Weapon
275pts

Chimera; Regeneration, Breath Weapon
275pts

6x Chaos Knights; Mark of Slaanesh, Standard Bearer w/ Banner of Swiftness, Musician, ensorcelled weapons
284pts

284pts

2250pts

I think the two things a slaanesh list has going for it are speed and the fact nothing is going to spook them or make them panic. That said, It really does seem to lend itself to an MSU play style.. I embraced that idea with my choices. Everything in the army is fragile, but faaast. The idea is to win by speed and movement. I purposely steered clear of anything that can't sprint across the board and get where I need it, when I need it there(with maybe the exception of chariots, but with their huge charge range, I still count them as pretty damn fast)

I've never really played an army like this before, and I'm a bit concerned about the lack of ranks...I suppose I *could* always double up the forsaken units to have *something* with ranks, albeit only 6x2...I'm still wary of the idea though, as those extra attacks from the second rank are lost.

Thoughts/advice anyone? I think it could be a fun list, if a bit fragile, if it works.

OK, first up, you haven't put the points for Banner of Swiftness onto that Knight unit.

Other than that, I'd say definitely don't rank the Forsaken. If you want a couple ranks, the same price will get you a dozen Chaos Warriors with Halberds and MoS that will do the job better (you're getting an average 4 S4 attacks per model frontage from the Forsaken or 3 S5 from the CW) as well as adding a third banner.

Love the list, looks like it would be awesome fun and you'll find that having two spells to give out Random Movement D6 is going to be a killer pain in your opponent's ass. Slaanesh is awesome!

Cool, thanks for the feedback! I think I might stick with the forsaken then, and pass on the warriors..They're just to slow for a list like this. Hopefully those two banners on the knights will be enough. Good catch on the swiftness banner, too..Forgot to take that sucker out when I gave the list a final pass.
