Self-Proclaimed Gangster of the Realm of Chaos

I got a 2400 point tournament coming up and since I don't got all models I have to do with what I have. I got a pretty tough army that is all plate, just the way I like it, and I got a Warshrine conversion (corpse cart) that can also double for a Chariot. Since I got some points left and I never played with a Chariot I got a question on what you guys think is better to take and why. I know they serve completely different roles but still I want to know for the pro`s So what you guys prefer in this list a Warhshrine or a Chariot? List: Sorcerer Lorc level 4 met upgrades, Lore of Slaanesh Sorcerer level 2 met upgrades, Lore of Shadow Hero BSB met upgrades 1x16 hw+shield, full command 1x17 hw+shield, full command 1x18 adhw, full command 3x5 warhounds 2x5 Knights ensorcelled weapons All Mark of Slaanesh cause all that panic and fear testing you see around here is pissing me off plus I like Slaanesh for the obvious reasons :P Thanx! I actually prefer the warshrine after playing a tournament over the weekend. It just doesn't die with the 3+ ward ( I had it hold up 3 demigryphs from the top of turn 4 to the bottom of turn 6 when I charged my lord into their rear and broke them for the win after it had already killed 2 heroes on pegs), and the bound spell is a great way to bait dispel dice or get some good character/unit champ buffs. The chariots are good too, but they are vulnerable to anything that doesn't really care about toughness or armor (Cannons, Screams, etc), and your list doesn't have anything else to draw cannon fire. Since you're running full command on your units, a warshrine up behind your units may actually be a pretty good idea. Did it with a mono-khorne army and although I didn't get the Daemon Prince my champions did smash face with their cool upgrades. |

I find the Warshrine really comes into its own if you have combat characters, monstrous unit champions (ogres or Drogres) or chosen. I don't think crossing your fingers for a DP is overly viable, and my experience with buffing warrior unit champions has been pretty lackluster. That said it is, as has been said, a great anvil. I've used it to anchor my mainlines flank a few times and it's done well. |

War shrine for either an early expenditure of dispel dice or giving your full commands some neat upgrades. It's tough, and can dish out some hurt. Also you can make an awesome scratch built model if you so desire! |

I love my Warshrine. It usually has my BSB on it for fluff and fun reasons (also it means one model does both of the 12" bubbles) and always does more than enough to make itself worthwhile. Even though I very rarely find the dice to use with a Level 4.5 Slaaneshi sorceress. |

Is the warshrine a large target? do you get an 18" bubble? |

Nope. That was the first thing I scrambled to check after seeing it as a mount option... but it was not to be :( |

I am tempted to convert my warshrine a bit and try it out myself. I love chariots though. Nothing is really wrong with them. |

Thanx for the help. I see that warshrines are still widely used, I thought they were going extinct. |

I think it's just that they used to be used a great deal more in competitive lists. My Warshrine is not something I take because I think "how can I make my list competitive?", I take it because it's fun, fluffy and isn't a bad choice. |

I like the concept but I can't think how it can work with so many cannons in the game now. Do you have to give the BSB a ward save or the charmed shield to survive before you can munch on the cannons? Thanks for the good idea btw! |
