Brets are a fairly good match up for WoC. Lore of metel is bad news for them and I find you don't have to be scared of their knight's charges as I've had games where my halberd warrriors almost wipe out the unit before they can strike. The thing to watch out for is combo charges, as their knight units only need to be 3 wide meaning they can fit a lot of them into a small space. Also they have a +5 ward against attacks s5 or more if they pray. Good thing about lore of metal is they don't get that ward against it, only their normal +6. Also watch out for HKB lords. As long as you absorb their charges and bog them down you'll have no trouble beating them. Most units are only s3 or 4 when not charging so you can rip them apart in a prolonged combat, it just may take awhile as they have a +2 armor. |

Trolls can eat through their impressive armor save easily enough. I'd take a lvl 4 "Hortennse" sorcerer with the lore of metal. Having a near unkillable stubborn flying lord will come in handy. DP is also a great option, just watch out for that heroic killing blow as mentioned above. |

No unkillable flying lords for me. Prefer my DP. Who is MoN. Which mark can take Metal again? |

Tzeentch get access to metal. You could also try unmarked, but a DP must have a god so you'd need to look at another caster. Try to get the stubborn hat somewhere in the list. Bretts really need to combo charge and break units on the turn they charge. If you're stubborn they'll be mainly swinging at str 3 in following turns. Some of the best Bret lists I have seen have 2x trebuchet and a lord with HKB. The latter is bad news for your DP, but otherwise their heroes are fairly easy to dispatch. They have limited shooting and offensive magic, but damsels with life can add some nice resilience to their units. Take warhounds and Marauder cav and you should be able to dictate where he charges by controlling the movement phase. If you can charge their knightly units with your knights/skullcrushers you should despatch them nicely. Pegasus knights are harder to deal with, but I you survive the charge you should be able to fight them off. Edited by Nongor, May 23 2013, 12:14 PM.

Chariots could be useful to get on those trebs ASAP, then to come in the rear of any ongoing combats |

Chariots don't work to get to the trebs . the drawback of not marching mean that they will either charge or get charged by knights. Marauder cav or hounds work well though. Remember that his knights will be steadfast to yours till they are down to 2 models, and that he has to accept challenges or lose the blessing. Grain knights are going to hurt on the charge, and their heroes are very cheap. The other unit that will hurt a lot on the charge are the Knights Errant with the Errantry banner. Carefully of units where the whole front rank(3) is made up of heroes . then he can blockoff models fighting with challenges and limit damage to his knights from your attacks. |

Chariots are way too slow for this task. Either go with a Chimera or a 3++ disc hero. |

I saw no mention of archers so your dogs and Marauder cav will have a field day setting up flankcharges for after dealing with the trebs turn 2.

No I'd go for halberds as giving them a +5 ward is better than leaving them with their +2 armor, and the wound on +2 is better. No hounds? You NEED hounds, no matter who you are playing. |
