Well I did warn you and now its your fault for opening this thread lol

My WIP Nurgle lord, still got quite a bit to do like the shoulderpads, shield which will be a dark green colour, Mace as well as a few other bits an pieces as you can see.
Got the main base of it done - might add a little bit more metal highlighting in a place or 2 like the hands

Decided to put him in here as im waiting for my AOW "Nurgle" infantry to come, at some point so when they come I can start an army plog

Not the best painter in the world lol, so heres the pics

I think it's really good, you should look into getting some Tamiya Clear Red for the gore though it'll really make it look realistic. (I suggest this to every Nurgle general lol)

There's Wilson again pushing his Tamiya agenda, are you under sponsorship? ;)

Love the rust! In fact the model looks great. Maybe you could do with breaking the large amount of metal - I paint brass along side and that seems to work. Can't wait to see the rest mate.

I think you did a fantastic job with the rust. It looks really good. Perhaps work a little green in there some where (on the front side of the shield?).

The shield I have painted is green to add more colour, not sure what colour for the shoulder pads atm, maybe green as well as the cloth on his lower back - - should have more pictures up tomorrow as im really enjoying painting this model.

I will be adding blood to the mace as I want it quite filthy and disgusting, should add a little bit more colour as well.

If anyone is interested, im using Modelmates Rust effects for the rust, first time ive used it on anything and the stuff is awesome - worth looking at as the effect it gives as well as the different rust colours - due to different thickness and water - is really good, it also looks like it goes over any colour.

LOL I know, I know I say it all the time, but I can't stress enough how good it makes things look :D
and no, I have absolutely no ties to Tamiya, I just know that it totally changed the way my models looked lol that's all... Shut it, Rusty :P

I've been a fan of the Tamiya red for gore for a while now, I've also recently picked up several pots of the green for my Nurgle troops, so far so good. I'd definitely recommend the red for gore, and the green seems to be a winner so far.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures of the front of the shield. I think painting the cloth on the back green would tie in nicely with the green you used on the shield.

Few more pictures, I was going to go the shoulder pads in green or some other colour - I was also going to do it in bronze but mine has dried up lol and don't know when I can get any more - but decided that would look a little weird as the rest of the armour is rusty.
I decided to do it the other way EXTREME RED RUST!!!!!!! ftw, lol anyhoos just done the base coat of the pads over a black base and was delighted to see how many colours - red/orange - you can get just by a couple of coats, it adds more vibrant colour to it, now its a case of adding metal effects as if its been hit by weapons.

Ive said it before, the rust effects stuff seems to be awesome what im using and gives such good effects for no effort (which for me is lucky lol)

Very nice. I definitely feel that you achieved the rusty effect you were going for. The rust you painted looks identical to the one in the picture. Great job. Shield looks really good too.

Thanks for the comments, I had a bit of a look around at the Tamiya Red....and seeing how good it was I decided to buy a pot online, hopefully it should be here soon so I can add blood effects

Brand new pics and a picture of my next model I will be starting on which is a complete opposite of my lord as it has next to no armour lol - be nice to do a cloth/skin based model
