Is the minus 1 to hit make their WS 1 llower or is the actual dice roll one lower?

As I understand it, the actual dice result is reduced by 1. |

It is minus 1 to the dice roll. This edition it has nothing to do with WS at all. In our previous edition it was -1 WS in close combat, that thankfully that has been changed. It's a very big distinction and the reason why the MoN has become so popular now. |

So, this means that poisoned attacks that trigger on a 6-roll don't poison models with the MoN? (Since the 6 becomes a 5)

Its not that the roll is reduced.. Its the required to hit that is changed. You need a 3+ to hit normally, it gets reduced to a 4+. You need a 5+ to hit, you'd need a 6+ against the mark. |

Well it seems there are opposite answers to this question, I guess we need to quote the exact rule/Faq. |

Heh my answer is correct. Im positive. The rule is -1 to hit. You need a 3+ to hit... 3+ -1 makes 4+. No where does it say -1 to dice roll. Its pretty simple. :P **I doubt that LORD VOKUL'NAX really meant dice roll. He knows the rule, but put it in simpler terms for the thread Im sure. And his way works just fine until you start thinking about poison and all that blah. Edited by AshBorn, May 29 2013, 01:33 AM.

Ok then, its just that the wording in the book is not terribly explicit. |
