Warrior of the Chamber
I saw a game the other week with a large block of Savage orcs and a big block of trolls (8 iirc).

My current army list (based on models I have) is in teh army ist section, but it is basically HellCannon, 2 blocks of 20 warriors, 5 knights, Chariot, Shrine, hounds and characters.

Watching it got me thinking, and I realised tha tif I came up against such a list I have no real answer to it. Sure I can plough the Chariot into it and it kills a few first turn, but unless I break them (unlikely), they murder it next phase. Ditto my warrior blocks.

As I see it, with what I have unless I could combi charge it with both warrior blocks and the knights (which is unlikley), I'd have no chance of beating a 40 orc strong horde like that, and I'd also be leaving myself open to rear charges form his trolls /manglers and so on, neve rmind any siege weapons that could stop my warrior blocks in their tracks.

So, how would you handle i? (I'm guessing I need to wait until Im paid and go buy something new and nasty to replace the shrine or one of the warrior blocks)

I have a regular player who does something extremely similar to what you are describing. His unit is like so 37 Savage Orc Bigg'uns with a Black Orc BSB, Wurrzag to almost guarantee Foot of Gork (possibly the most bent spell in game) and a Level 1 Savage Orc Shaman with the Shrunken Head so their warpaint ward gets the +1. I struggled with this for ages until I realized they all have a fairly common weakness. Poor Ld and Int. With this in mind the Lore of Death can work wonders, Purple Sun is their worst nightmare as this unit is well over 1000 points and it WILL decimate them should it touch them. Failing a Purple Sun you can look to snipe the characters out however with Wurzag in the unit sniping isn't really an option.

Additionally a well placed Pit of Shades will ruin their day. If these aren't options for you then what I would recommend is sending a few cheapish but survivable chariots into the unit to tie them up for the first round of combat so their +1S bonus from choppas is wasted then throw your hard hitters in there to beat them senseless. They aren't completely unbeatable though. A well timed combo charge in the flank will break their steadfast and should you land enough wounds you can run them down after a failed break test.

They are a right pain to deal with however but these are the best things I've discovered to take them out. Hope this helps.

Solution: Nurgle daemon prince with TOT.Shard

I sent mine against a savage ork horde + shaman with shrunken head in the last tournament, and they got stomped in 3 rounds: 5 S6 attacks + 2D6 S4 flaming hits + 1D6 S6 hits + TOT.Shard = orks lose combat by a lot --> fail the LD test --> flee and get caught thanks to swiftstride.

If you soften them up enough with Rancid Visitations they lose steadfast sooner and its even faster. Some clever ork players will remember to challenge your prince with useless stuff, but that nuisance only lasts for a turn or 2, so be patient and prey on the rest of the army while the big fat horde is busy getting stomped by your big fat prince.

I charged a savage orc block in the rear by a DP and in the front by a chariot and my "unkillable" BSB. The chariot died (it only had two wounds remaining but it killed 4 with its impact hits), and he accepted the BSB's challenge with his champ. I got off Cure of the Leper and broke them on the 1st round of combat.
