Greetings, I'm looking for feedback on the following lord of Tzeentch. Before you post, please note that I did not make him a Wizard on purpose. I have very little luck with the magic phase and my level two is just fine. Okay, here he is; Chaos Lord of Tzeentch (400) Disc of Tzeentch Sword of Striking Spellshield Talisman of Preservation Potion of Strenth Third eye of Tzeentch Burning Body Soul feeder Scaled Skin Okay, so this lord has a 1+ AS, 3+ Ward save vs all and a 2+ WS vs spells/magic. In addition, he re-rolls ward saves of 1. This makes him impossible to be hurt by magic. His sword of striking allows him to hit most targets on 2+ in close combat. The potion of strenght is for really hard to hit characters/monsters. The Burning body is to deal with anything that has regen. Soul feeder is for if he loses a wound in combat some how. The disc is to get this guy where I want him FAST. I know his strength is not too high, but with the potion I think this will really not be an issue when I need it. Any thoughts? |

Flaming Body will not work with the sword of striking or any other magical weapon. Are you considering running him solo or with a unit, if you go with the former i think he will be fairly resilient and good in a combo charge, if the latter i would drop the shield and but one of the obsidian talismans in the unit or lichbone pennant. Then try to find the points for the helm of many eyes as he will benefit greatly from always strikes first and +1 to hit. |

That would be a 2+ armor save, not a 1+. Strength 5 really doesn't cut it on a model that is such a large points investment, you really need something like a great weapon on that guy so he can deal with things that the rest of the army might struggle with (Monsters, high armor saves, etc...) the 3+ with re-rolls on 1s is more than enough to survive against magic, even more so when you consider that he will be in combat by turn 2 in most cases, where they can't hit him with magic. With soulfeeder, you can heal the wounds that you might have taken from magic off of something weak before going in on a larger unit. Also, Burning body doesn't work with magic weapons. No, he had it right. It is a 1+ save. Chaos armour is 4+, scaled skin brings it to 2+, disc brings it to 1+. Remember, the disc is a mount and as such grants +1 to the armour save, just like being on a steed. As mentioned, no flaming & magic weapons. You might try giving him a halberd and the helm of many eyes in stead (and keep burning body). He'll be striking first at str6, and re-rolling hits against almost everything. |

My thought of taking a magical weapon is that he will be able to deal with etherials if there are any. Sometimes a VC army will deploy three spectres and hold up an entire unit. This guy can come in and kill em all. I've dropped flaming body as I thought it worked with magical weapons. :( Dropped the spell shield too. I guess it is over kill and you are right, a 3++ with reroll ones is fine for most things magical. |

if hes gunna be in combat hes gunna need the crown of command. Even with your ability to choose fights sometimes your gunna want to stop an advancing block with lots of static CR. |
