Painting colours to finish Chaos Trolls

Hi

I have converted and started painting Trolls for my WoC army. I am happy with basic paint scheme- just need some advice for Chaos tentacle arms and Troll Vomit.

Started with plastic River Trolls. Added spikes and tails from Chaos Spawn sprue, plus a mutated tentacle arm.

Initial colour scheme was chosen to match my Dragon Ogres to help unify WoC army together. Body started with Orkhide shade, drybrushed up through Dark Angels Green, Camo Green and Rotting flesh. Scales and spikes started with black and light drybrushing of Dark Angels Green (i.e. looks black from a distance but close up can see the green highlights). I am really happy with this so far.

The painting that I want some advice over is colours for Troll Vomit and Chaos spawn tentacle arm. I have started with Tau Sept Ochre purely to cover the black undercoat and allow me to paint lighter colours over this base.

-Chaos spawn tentacle arm- I was thinking of starting with light Camo Green followed by Rotting Flesh and then further highlighting up- not sure what highlight colour for tentacle would help emphasize the chaotic morphing/mutation- any suggestions?

-Troll vomit- want a colour that totally contrasts with green skin and black scales- any suggestions?

Thanks

James

Depends what overall look you want to end up with. If you want something that really stands out from the model maybe try a turquoise/blue or purple/pink?

I agree that it depends on your scheme and how tight you want to stick to it or if you want to have some eye popping contrast.

I prefer realism and to go with your comment about having some contrast, you could go with some orange/yellow for the vomit.

In terms of the mutant arm and getting a sense of mutation, the "opposite color" of green is red and doing something in a "warm" color like that would certainly seem contrasting.
