EOTG ward save question; true or not

I was reading the EOTG table for 100 times and couldn't find an answer.

One sections is saying, +1 warsave for the character or hero
but never more than 3+.

I tried to red it from different point of views.
Actually i read it that the character gets a wardsave up to 3+
But does that include the build or not.
Option 1
Since Tzeench have a 6+ wardsave it would turn into 5 wardsave.
If i ignore the build it would move the talisman build down to 2+ wardsave.

Option 2
It doesn't ignore the build and the talisman build would stop at 3+ wardsave.

How would you guys read that.
EOTG for the character or for the build

It's rather obvious that it will always stop at 3+, considering it says "to a maximum of 3+."

I am well aware of that.

But the Tzeench Character would just have a wardsave of 6+.
The other 3+ are granted by armor or talisman.

And it says clearly the character gets 1+ wardsave not his equipment

Id think the save would be applied to the character as a whole. Sice the armor is on him he is one with the armor or w.e. So it cant increase a current ward save any greater than 3+. So if ure at 2+ u gain nothing then. No?

The wording of the rule is meant to stop a +2 ward by any means as when combined with the 3rd eye that's way too good so I think it's clear it doesn't matter what equipment you have along with the MoT, you can never have a +2 ward.

I'm actually happy that's the case because I think a flat +2 ward is just too good. Nothing in the game has one that I can think of.

The only time it was ever possible was with the last book, and only in Storm of Magic.

Being on a Fulcrum gives you a 3+ ward, and if you had a Tzeentch Sorcerer up there, it went down to 2+.

As you can probably imagine, it made them stupidly hard to kill.

Yes because only the rider can ever be targeted. The Juggies aren't an upgradeable mount, they're considered part of the unit. So the juggernaut getting a ward save is moot.

uhmmm... that was eaxactly my intension :-)

I don't focus too much on high armor since too many units
use armor ignoring attacks.
So my complete focus goes to wardsaves.
I try toi sqeeze out as much as i can.

Well... DGBgem, DRGhelm, DParmor, BOTWD and resist magic can give you a 2+ ward save in very specific situation. But all in all, it's really rare. And it's a good thing.

His equipment doesn't have a ward save itself, it grants him one. Hell it even says so in their rules. It is 3+ as stated clearly in the rules.
