Hi I managed to acquire a Palanquin of Nurgle off a friend. Did nt come with a rider so I have free choice what to put on it. It's been previously suggested to me to run in an infantry block as 50*50mm base size and M4. Taking one with 14 Warriors/Chosen allows me to deploy in a block with footprint equivalent to 6 wide by 3 deep, which I like. My choices of which unit to run with model wise are either: 1) 14 Chosen with MoN and Halberds 2) 14 Warriors with MoN and Halberds and shields Now the question is what character should I put on Palaquin? Chaos Lord/Sorceror Lord/BSB/Hero/Sorceror Now the inevitable response will be depends on what else is in army, which is a fair point. Model wise I have been adding quite a few characters to my core force since start of this year so have quite a few options. But what makes best use of Palanquin's stats? For example I quite like giving normal Daemonic Mounts to Heroes- it boosts them to T5 wheras less point in giving Daemonic Mount to a Lord as they are already T5. Now for Palanquin they are curiously only T3 so you will always end up using the rider's stats. IIRC as well as using the highest T you also use the highest wounds between mount and rider. (Please correct me if I'm wrong). If so then would certainly be a boost if you can use Palanquin's W4 on a Hero/BSB/Sorceror Any suggestions? On option I am thinking of is if I can assemble Palanquin in a way that can swap out the riders around between games to me further flexibility. Cheers James |

Best use for a palequin is as a cannon magnet really. Theyre good, like pretty good, they displace 4 models, so dont use it in a halberers unit, put it in a sword and board unit, give the character ToTS and nurgles rot. Reason why theyre not taken is because you dont get LoS, the displacement and that they really dont fit in a decent army list. Demonic mounts just do it better, and theyre not M4. |

The M4 is what kills them for me. I would probably take one if they were M6. |
