greeting from China~
i have a question about the eotg last week. in my new list, i have a warshine to help my chosen roll the eotg every turn. i have a champion, a scroll caddy, and a skull caddy in the T MARK chosen unit to be the D3 target of the eotg roll. the two caddys are unmarked to be able to use the shadow and death magic in the t mark unit. i just wondering:
1, if the caddys become to the DP. it can have a mark for free. however.if i mark them T for 4+ wardsave, the caddys can still cast the death or shadow magic or they can't cast that spells anymore, or they have to reroll the magic or the death magic caddy have to be marked as N and theshadow caddy have to marked as S? what happen if i mark them as K?
2, the skull caddy, we all know that after several turns, the ld will be very low, (ex. 8-6=2) while it become to a DP, the ld will become to 9 or 9-6=3?

i'm not very good in english so maybe the answer is obviously in the codex. thanks a lot for your kindly help. and warmly welcomes you if any of you have a chance to come to China and play with us.

When an unmarked character becomes a DP he will gain whatever DEMON mark he wants. It wouldnt be a 4++ wardsave. It would be rerolling channels and ward saves of 1. ANd he can have whatever spell he had before, so an ascended DP can be MoT and have lore of fire for instance.

As for the skull caddy. i have been using something in my list for a while now, ill give him skull and chalice of chaos lol. Its my understanding any leadership penalties he gets will apply to the demon as well. I usually just ask my opponent how they want to play this situation before the game and they usually go with that.

The EoTG-table is pretty clear on this. You can choose a mark that usually can't take the lore of the wizard when he becomes a Daemon Prince. He does not keep the minus to ld.

Warriors of Chaos army book EoTG tabel Daemonhood entry

This Daemon Prince will retain any equipment, Chas Mutations and Powers, magic items and any other rewards form this table gained during its former existence (if it had any). If the Chaos Champion was your army General or Battle Standart Bearer, the Daemon Prince remains so. If the Chaos Champion was a Wizard, the Daemon Prince retains his Wizard levels and knows the same spells as the Chaos Champion did before turning into a Daemon Prnice. If the Chaos Champion hat the Mark of <Chaos God>, hew will have th Daemon of <Chaos God> upgrade.

That all the new Daemon Prince retains from its former model. There is no mention of 'stats modifiers' or anything similar, so he does not keep the ld penalty. In the same manner, any Plagues of Rust (from the lore of Metal) cast on the Champion before he recieved Daemonhood won't effect the Daemon Prince.
