Lords - 19% of Army Total Daemon Prince, Chaos Armor, Chaos Familiar, Charmed Shield, Daemon of Nurgle, Daemonic Flight, Dragonbane Gem, Flaming Breath, L4 Wizard, Nurgle's Rot, Scaled Skin, Soul Feeder, Sword of Striking [Lore of Death] Heroes - 8% of Army Total Exalted Hero, BSB, Burning Body, Daemonic Mount, Enchanted Shield, Mark of Tzeentch, Talisman of Preservation, Third Eye of Tzeentch Core - 38% of Army Total 4 x 5 Chaos Warhounds, Vanguard 21 Chaos Warriors, Full Command, Halberds, Mark of Khorne, Shields 12 Chaos Warriors, Full Command, Halberds, Mark of Khorne, Shields 2 x 6 Forsaken, Mark of Slaanesh Special - 18% of Army Total 7 Chaos Trolls, Additional Hand Weapons Chimera, Flaming Breath, Regenerating Flesh Rare - 17% of Army Total 6 Skullcrushers, Banner of Swiftness, Ensorcelled Weapons, Full Command 3001 pts Was planning to try this list out tomorrow in my first game with the 8th edition of the WoC army book. Amongst other foes I know I'll be facing Empire, he runs a 60 man Halberdier unit with detachments, warrior priest, general, BSB captain and witch hunter. He also has a bunch of handgunners and 2 helblasters. My army is fairly quick, my juggers, trolls and forsaken will smash into the enemy in the first wave whilst my Chimera and DP hunts war machines (and hopefully can get off some spells). Was planning to have my BSB babysit the trolls. Any survivors will be left at the mercy of my footslogging troops, who by the time they reach the enemy should have the flyers supporting with rear charges. The enviroment I play in is very competitive, so although I realise some of my choices might be viewed as cheesy it is the only natural choice. I know my opponents will be doing just the same. Any thoughts on this list? Edited by LordSaradain, Jun 18 2013, 04:31 AM.

Running skullcrushers in two groups of 3 might be better? can hunt the two warmachines seperately provide strong flanking units additionally. Against empire I have taken a hellcannon to lob into big blocks like these in the past + panic testing is always something to consider if you aim it on the BSB's head. Hellblasters do not have the range of cannons (are there going to be any?) or steamtanks? hence you can move up for at least one turn. You also have a lot of fear/terror causing units so lots of tests on their part (again BSB being a high priority target) Lore of metal is a good alternative to empire with their +1 AS circle knights/demigryphs/steamtanks. Having a suped up BSB such as yours will be good for your frenzied warriors Not 100% convinced my core would look like that (4 drops of vanguard hounds, one 21 group of warriors, one of 12) I would run a big block of 24 Khorne and maybe another of 12-15 tzeentch sword and board to run straight at his hellblasters in the middle if need be? maybe drop some hounds? and/or shields no doubt they will be targeted by a lv4 metal mage and 3+ AS is easier to wound then a 4+ Sorry for the ramblings Im at work here, from my experience 1500-4000 point games, hope some of it helps at least ? Best of luck! |
