Hey guys was wondering how this list looks? Double giants were fun for my night goblin army so I'm thinking two toughness 6 giants could be even more fun to run and with a daemon prince, trolls and chimera also drawing fire they may survive a bit longer too.

LORDS:
daemon prince
mark of nurgle
level 4
daemonic flight
sword of striking
charmed shield
dragonbane gem
flaming breath
scaled skin
soul feeder
lore of nurgle

HEROES:
exalted hero
mark of nurgle
battle standard bearer
enchanted shield
opal amulet

CORE:
17 warriors
full command
mark of nurgle
halberds
banner of swiftness

18 warriors
standard and musician
mark of nurgle
halberds
banner of eternal flame

5 warhounds
vanguard

5 warhounds
vanguard

SPECIAL:
8 trolls

1 chimera
regenerating flesh
flaming breath

RARE:
1 giant
mark of nurgle

1 giant
mark of nurgle

TOTAL: 2500

So how does that list look?

I would probably try to combo the daemon prince and chimera into units and could pump out a lot of attacks with flaming breaths and stomps, would probably also run my giants together or at large targets to smash them up.

It would be a very interesting list to see displayed across the board. The DP will definately draw attention from your Giants and so will the Chimera. Both can easily weather the attention which should allow your Giants to move across the table unscathed.

I'm assuming your BSB will link up with the Trolls so they can pass a LD check or two? lol! If that wasnt your intention I suggest thats how you do it since you're planning to fire your DP forward Turn 1. (Which you should)

2 solid bricks of Warriors and some Dogs. I actually dont see any problems with this list!

Try it out and let us know how it works!

Hey tremendous, I was going to have him in the warriors and try to keep the trolls within range of the daemon prince. Using trolls with my night goblins I usually have them close to my general for the first few turns but I try to line them up in a way that will let them still run through things even if it's from failed stupidity moves. Once I get a chance to play this list (hopefully next week) I'll re evaluate how they work.

I haven't run any mixed base size units this edition so I might need to re read the rules for them, is it just that he doesn't get a look out sir?

If trolls fail their stupidity check they CANT "charge" enemies. They dont get the Random movement rule, they simply move forward D6 inches. And cant get into combat that way. So if you fail your stupidity there's no way for you to benefit from their movement.

If you're really going to run them alone be real careful with how far away from your Lord the unit is or you'll have alot of points that are basically just waiting to be charged.

Hope this helps!

thanks, I'd always seen it played as if they contacted a unit it counted as charging, guess it's been played wrong in my group. So they'd stop 1" away if they were to go into a unit?

Not a fan of Giants and opponents will look at them as easy points. But if Giants can work? They should in this list. Because you have a Daemon Prince and Chimera to take the heat off of them.

well this was the other list I was toying with. 2 different styles so I'll probably try them both out when I get a chance.

LORDS:
sorcerer lord
mark of nurgle
level 4
charmed shield
dispel scroll
talisman of perservation
scaled skin
soul feeder

HEROES:
exalted hero
mark of nurgle
battle standard bearer
enchanted shield
opal amulet

CORE:
17 chaos warriors
mark of nurgle
full command
banned of swiftness
halberds

17 chaos warriors
mark of nurgle
full command
banned of eternal flame
halberds

1 chaos chariot
unmarked

5 warhounds

5 warhounds

SPECIAL:
8 trolls

5 chaos knights
mark of nurgle
musician and standard
ensorcelled weapons

5 chaos knights
mark of nurgle
musician and standard
ensorcelled weapons

1 chimera
regenerating flesh
flaming breath

TOTAL: 2496

In this list the trolls can hang closer to my sorcerer lord and I add in the knights and chariot instead of the double giants. The chimera becomes a bit of a target though and likely won't last long.
