Hello everyone

I'm after your help... I am picking up my WoC reigns again, but will be the first time for this edition. I've played a few sub 2000 games a won them last week, which was quite surprising!. Now I need a 2400 point list for a tournament, could ya'll please suggest what list I should put together with what i've got. i.e. load outs, items etc.

Here's what I have:

Heroes/Lords

Exalted Lord/champion on steed of Slaanesh.

2 x sorcerers

Core

2 x 12 WoC Slaanesh with F/C

2 x 5 warhounds

Special

5 knights F/C

3 Dragon ogres with G/W

3 Trolls

Rare

Nurgle Giant

Hellcannon

Spawn of Slaanesh

Any advice on tactics/strategy would be more than welcome! I need to roll with what ive got for the time being, but going to span out a get a Chimera or two with maybe some skull crushers (although I want to avoid these as they're just the standard killy killy unit that every army seems to have) and have seen them just attract far too much attention from warmachines and magic tbh.

First, excellent choicce of gods to follow, you'll find out just how often you'll thank your patron for not having to roll panic/fear/terror. As for your force, personally, I would drop the giant and the Dragon ogres as they tend to die a LOT. I would suggest investing ina chariot or two as they are fantastic at holding flanks, and they are solid in combat with impact hits and Chaos warrior crew, they bring the pain consistantly

Ditto what Ashicus79 said. If you want some monsterous infantry take Slaanesh marked Ogres instead of Trolls and DOgres and give them a banner, and great weapons. They make excellent can openers. Otherwise Slaanesh marked Marauder Horsemen are an awesome inclusion or the chariots as previously suggested.

Do you want your general to be a fighter or magic user? Personally I favour a Level 4 sorcerer with a level 2 to back him up and an exalted BSB. The Lore of Slaanesh is awesome and contains a couple of excellent, potentially game winning spells. Make sure your general has a 4+ ward save and probably a magic weapon as well.

What is your equipment on the knights and warriors?

Its going to be awkward making an efficient list, since you must get 600 points of core. Its doable though. Like, get 24 warriors of slaanesh with halberds amd shields, fc, banner of swiftness. Then, 2*5 warhounds with poison, scaly skin and vanguard. This ends up at 601 points, and may be one of the best options.

The loadout on the warriors is hand weapon and shield.

I've really been looking into ogres - has anyone had success with them? Trolls seem to be great value for their points however.... that 4+ regen is fantastic.

Whats a good loadout with Ogres? Unit size, equip, marks etc.

I will defo get some chariots, thanks for the advice!

4-6 Ogres, banner and muso with great weapons and MoS. With the Slaanesh mark you don't need to babysit sit them for leadership tests and they can operate on a flank or up the centre. The extra strength makes them great at smashing knights and chariots, or heavily armoured infantry. Just watch out for other high strength units or those who can cause multi-wounds (is characters with magic weapons).

They can be used effectively to guard the flanks of your warriors (and smash units if they can flank charge a unit held in place by your warriors) or if you can get a charge off with them against most units of knights they will smash them aside.
