He knew the stories, the people who had died. But well, many Diggers died all around the world every day with no farewell, no fanfare, nothing in particular. These few who had their 'stories' told were just lucky ones, that was all. Funny that they should be the first to try and break through the murky waters inside the ruins of the lake and die in such a horrid manner, untreatable by the medical technology of the people. Or at least what technology they had, for all they knew there was indeed a cure. Regardless, a new challenger against the angry beast stepped forward, just one person unlike the group that had gone before. The faded blue walls of the ruins seemed to all stare Dragoon down, with the red eye of the Reaverbot built into them at various points simply for design flair, each one of them looking as if they watched his every move. Water tricked down the walls from the ceiling, pouring into vents in the floor that led down to places unknown. There was also a sheet of water all along the floors as he would walk, making a quiet splashing noise with each step he took. The first problem that would be posed to Dragoon was... well, finding his way. He would need to find an underwater portion of the ruins and explore from there. It wouldn't be hard - often it was said that if you walked around for long enough, you would find an expansive room or two that traded half of its floor for water, the contents of its depths hard to discern, but... oddly inviting, yet foreboding at the same time. There was a reason that only now people had begun to explore them, certainly... But for now, Dragoon had to find a place like that. As he walked through the ruins, the large room which he was in presented him with three options: to his left was a ledge that perhaps he would just be able to jump up onto to proceed, to his right he could jump down onto a lower level inside this very room, and if he proceeded forward a corridor went fowards and then curved to the right to parts currently unknown to him. Each option didn't require him walk through any door or the sort, but for now Dragoon didn't exactly know what he was going to run into until he made his choice. The only things to guide him were the sounds of flowing water all around and the meandering steps of various Reaverbots, large and small. |

A new area of ruins.... Dragoon felt a certain bit of pride coming from his gut, for being the first to... hopefully, come back from this sane. He decided he was going to go for the high route first, to avoid any pointless swimming. He wasn't a fan of water, mainly cause of how much it slowed him down, but.... there was something that drew him to it. He would have fun here. He knew it. Taking a running leap, he jumped as high as he could, grabbing onto the ledge with his free hand. Quickly pulling himself up, he made a flip and landed on the ledge, scanning the area in front of him before starting on his own meander down the hallway. His drill at his side, along with a buzzsaw on his back, ready to be equipped, he felt pretty good. It would be hard, he had no doubt about that, but he figured, with just a little luck.... he would find his way through, find what treasure there was to be found, and get out safely. He patted the Rang Arm on his waist, ready to be equipped if he needed ranged combat, and made sure that the harness on his Buzzer Arm on his back was secure. He smiled. Today.... would be a good day. Edited by Dragoon, May 19 2011, 10:35 AM.

Click. The metallic sound of robot feet hitting the ground rang throughout the room that Dragoon had just stepped into. Clack. Slowly and rhythmically this Reaverbot seemed to pace itself... yet wait, there it was again, but from a different direction! Perhaps it could have been coming from further away, or it was the acoustics of the room causing echoes... but... this was too delayed to be a mere echo. And where was this Reaverbot if it was walking around? There was no sight of anyone or anything in the room, which presented itself rather innocently - as Dragoon had jumped up he would have been presented with a long rectangular room, with him at one side and with the other side having no door, no wall... it was completely open, with a sheet of water falling over it as if it were a wall of sorts. There was an enormous room past it, but it wasn't possible to pick out any details at this range, let alone through that wall of water. But Dragoon would have to focus on what was apparently... around him? As he either walked or stood still - he could pick and choose as he wished - it seemed as though the metal 'clank' stepping sounds were coming from around him, yet nothing could be seen! Most folk would have regarded things as simply 'out of sight, out of mind', but was Dragoon the same way? The large footsteps stopped. For a moment, that is. Suddenly they increased in speed, with a 'whoosh' sound being made as finally they completely left the ground and practically out of nowhere, Dragoon would notice out of the corner of his right eye a large blue Sharukurusu falling from an angle towards him, its great spinning claw extended forward to pierce and rip through his body. ___ Blue Sharukurusu Health: ??? Dragoon popped his neck for a moment, resting after he had gotten up. Each echo made him more and more paranoid, stopping to try to locate his target, but with nothing in sight, he simply kept his ears open. Slowly going forward, and finally deciding to grab his Rang Arm and equip it, his paranoid behavior finally paid off. With the moment the echoes stopped, he decided it was time to evade, jumping as high as he could. Keeping an eye on the Reaverbot, he simply stared it down for a moment, making his battle plan. Fighting a blue one... this might be harder than had hoped. ------------------ Hp: 750/750 Energy: 100 Action: Evade entirely, do nothing. (Used jump to evade, did nothing because I used jump to evade) Special Weapon: Rang Arm, 42 damage per hit, 4 energy per shot, 2 energy regained when rang returns |

The Sharukurusu fell back to the ground, its attack evaded for now as it made a loud splash, sliding along the watery ground. It looked back towards Dragoon, its face emotionless, but still it planned to make another round as soon as it stopped - might take a while since it was sliding over the watery ground. Dragoon, however, would find that he wasn't necessarily out of a break just by avoiding that new blue enemy of his - there was a reason it seemed as though there were two beings in his presence. As he hung in the air for a moment, perhaps he wouldn't have noticed another blue Sharukurusu reappearing behind him, its massive body flying straight towards him about to collide - wow, that thing must have been able to jump high. Its intent was more to pin him down after collision by falling towards the ground, which would then leave the intruder open to attack by the Reaverbot's 'partner', but one would just have to see what would happen before then. The rest of the room around the three beings, only one of them a warm, fleshy human, seemed to watch in complete silence. ____ Blue Sharukurusu 1 Health: ??? Blue Sharukurusu 2 Health: ??? Dragoon's eyes widened in horror, as he instinctively brought up his Sonic Drill. He twisted in the air, bringing his Sonic Drill to hopefully impact on the Sharukurusu's face. He was trying to make three strikes in one, causing the jump to turn into a dive. He was using the force and torque of his drill to change the direction of his jump back down as fast as he could. This fight.... might just kill him. He hoped not. It would really irritate him if he ended up failing in the start of his career. ---------------------- Hp: 650/750 Energy: 70/100 Action: Twist in mid-jump, try to allow the enemy to impale it's own face on his drill, despite the impact and cause it's spinning to strike multiple times with the disrupting unit going with each 'strike'. Possible 90 damage. Special Weapon: Rang Arm, 42 damage per hit, 4 energy per shot, 2 energy regained when rang returns |

Unfortunately... well, there was a large problem with how Dragoon was trying to save himself. All the torque in the world wasn't going to save him from a large metal monster that weighed exponentially more than he did that was making him fall towards the ground. The jump had made before was not a jump anymore. It was a fall. Trying to go -through- something with a drill was not going to change the direction of anything. The drill punched a nice hole through the Sharukurusu, though not through its face per se because it was kind of hard to raise a large drill towards the face of the enemy that was pressed onto you and causing you to fall towards the ground. At least it took damage, but there was still the problem of Dragoon falling towards the ground and going to be crushed by his enemy. It wouldn't kill him, but it would probably break something. Maybe. Within the next few seconds he may want to think of something a bit more inventive, because not only was he falling with the Sharukurusu pressing against him with its massive body, but the other Reaverbot was starting to run towards them as well. ______ Blue Sharukurusu 1 Health: ??? Dragoon felt he was screwed, but a new idea surged through him. He began spinning his drill again, this time not to really cause damage, that would just be a perk, but he spun it as fast as he could to spin himself as well, turning with the drill, he pulled his drill out of the reaverbot to have the centrifugal force fling him away. He planned on going in the direction that the other Reaverbot WASN'T, but who knew which way he'd go? Still, he was trying to get away, and dealing damage was just a perk of the job. He decided it was time to do something else as well, raising his left arm and firing off a Rang from his Rang Arm, going right for the Reaverbot he was stuck to. Hp: 650/750 Energy: 71/100 (65?/100) Action: Begin spinning drill without any leverage to spin self as well, damaging reaverbot and hopefully using the centrifugal force to fling himself out of danger. Fire off a shot from Rang Arm, provided he gets free of the reaverbot he was stuck to. Special Weapon: Rang Arm, 42 damage per hit, 4 energy per shot, 2 energy regained when rang returns |

... Unfortunately(again), Dragoon must not have really known as much about drills as he thought he did. Pretty much the entire premise of what he was trying to do, well... ignored the laws of physics, not to mention the laws of working drills, one could say. A drill could not be easily used on purpose to throw its user in one direction if it was arm-mounted, or even as a handheld drill. If a drill was to be useful even at all, the actual drilling portion(not the portion which it was mounted on) needed to spin independently of its mount, regardless of how fast it was spinning. With that bit of knowledge in mind, that meant that no matter how much Dragoon tried, no amount of force was going to spin him in any direction... unless, however, the drill was running up against a substantial unmovable surface that could not be bored through by the drill's spinning. This, however... was not the case. Dragoon had already punched a sizable hole through the Sharukurusu, so much that there wasn't really anything the drill could run up against to provide the necessary force that would cause the 'centrifugal force' that he was so hoping for. If he had some sort of surface that the drill would have been 'caught' on, the drill would have more or less stopped itself up and caused the rest of its mount(and its wielder) to have the force transferred to them. That... was not the case, however, so when he pulled the drill out while turning in the opposite direction his drill was spinning... all he did was pull out. He didn't get thrown anywhere. The Sharukurusu raised its right claw and intended to punch a hole of its own through Dragoon, however it got hit in the face(... if you could call it that) by Dragoon's Rang Arm, which caused it to fly backwards and slide across the ground a bit when it landed. This saved Dragoon... just barely... from being crushed by the massive metal monster that was trying to do so earlier, but his own landing upon the ground was about to come up so he might want to think about that. Meanwhile, the other blue Sharukurusu was slowly walking towards Dragoon, almost stalking its target. ______ Blue Sharukurusu 1 Health: ??? Blue Sharukurusu 2 Health: ??? - 132 |

Dragoon groaned at his own stupidity. How could he have been that stupid? He blamed the powers that be for his moronic idea, and went back to his new idea. Using his Rang Arm like crazy. He needed to stay as far away from these things as possible. With the rang from his first shot now coming back, he smiled as he righted himself in his fall, flinging his legs back to the ground so he could land on his feet. He aimed his rang arm at the one he had damaged, and started firing off like crazy, getting three shots off before checking his target and its 'friend'. Hp: 650/750 Energy: 54/100 Action: Right self by flinging legs down to get good landing, aim at damaged reaverbot and fire three Rang Arm Shots, also expecting previous rang shot from last turn to come back at target and himself to restore 2 energy next turn... Special Weapon: Rang Arm, 42 damage per hit, 4 energy per shot, 2 energy regained when rang returns |
