Blinding lights were the first thing sight was laid upon, burning viciously, causing muscles in the arms to jerk and the hand to cover the eyes. Pain, cruel, unjust pain shriek through the veins and caused the body to shutter in anguish, turn in discontent, and the head began a marathon. The sound of machinery beeping filled the air like the cries of a banshee, letting out shrieking that made the ears yearn to bleed. Like chaos it all happened in an instant and the pain overwhelmed the senses, causing a certain primal instinct of survival to kick in. Whatever was transpiring was wrong, bad, unwanted, and he jerked to get away from it from all the pain. “He’s waking up, someone grab him, quick!” A feminine voice rang out. Sight had not returned, the words were hollow, threatening. Without hesitation, a pain he had felt in his arm since he woke up was grabbed, and the needle was ripped out abruptly. Vision returned to his eyes as they adjusted however in the madness he could only see red. Twisting the turning, he fell from a high place as the beeping continued wildly, hitting the ground with a thud. The pain continued to ring out as if his life was slowly being drained away. He scrambled to his feet wearily to see the medical bay he was in and the heart monitor by his side. The sudden motion nearly caused him to faint as his legs felt like jello as if they had not been used for quite some time. He looked down to that painful arm to see the blood draining from where he ripped the IV out. He didn’t know where he was and all he saw was a woman before him, yelling words that he couldn’t make out. There was an intense ringing in his head and it added to his anger. No matter what she said, he wouldn’t stop and he would escape. Ezekiel held his hand out towards her and she gasped as he weakly gathered ki for a power blast. Before the woman would meet her demise, he was tackled. “Snap out of it, you’re safe!” The assailant yelled and everything regained clarity. “Where…where am I…?” Ezekiel asked franticly as the shock finally subsided. “You’re safe Ezekiel, no one is here to hurt you,” The man spoke, lifting him against his will but he gave no resistance as he was set back in the bed. The man in question was a Saiyan, tall with spiked hair, a red scouter, Saiyan armor, and a grey Saiyan jumpsuit underneath. He had a scar on the left side of his face along the bottom of his chin and his tail was wrapped around his waist. “Who are you…?” He asked as he slowly regained his sanity. “Names Domino, you’re on the ship, your ship to be exact. Nive sent us when you never sent communications after heading to Arlia,” Domino replied. “Never sent…communications…?” Ezekiel asked, still very confused. He was instantly taken over by an intense pain in his chest and collapsed on the bed. “You’re going to be okay, I’m Lea, the doctor of the crew,” The black haired woman he had nearly killed said, rushing over. “Just try to relax for me okay? You were injured pretty badly when we found you on Arlia. I did all I could but we were ill equipped. We’re on Namek now though and I’ve sent out Hiroyuki to retrieve a Namekian healer. You’ll meet him soon, for now rest, that’s doctors orders!” She spoke, but with compassion, not authority. Ezekiel drifted in and out of consciousness, gaps of time passing without explanation, and death felt certain. It had been a miracle that he had been kept alive this long in his condition without a rejuvenation chamber. After a final blackout, he awoke to a warm feeling all over his body. He reopened his eyes to see Lea and Domino once more along with a tall and older looking Namekian who was healing his wounds. In the corner sat a man with long white and black bangs along his silver spiked hair. He had brown eyes and wore a grey coat with many belts along the waist and it was open down the middle, revealing his black shirt and grey pants. A few more moments passed and he felt whole again. “If you had not found me when you did, then he surely would have passed on to the other realm. To have sustained him in his condition for this long was a miracle in and of itself. You are a fine doctor Ms. Lea,” The old Namek spoke. “Now sir, I need you to take it slow. You are renewed but don’t rush off recklessly,” “Uh…thanks,” Ezekiel replied awkwardly. The Namek nodded and Hiroyuki led him out of the room. “Domino…you said earlier this was a ship sent by Nive?” He asked. “I’m surprised you remember all that from the condition you were in when you first woke up. Yeah, that’s right,” Domino replied. “I had been sending communications the entire time, how were they not received?” Ezekiel questioned. “We’ll get to that. No disrespect meant, but you’ve been out for weeks now in a coma. If it weren’t for Lea, you’d be dead. This crew was sent to be under your command by President Nive, however you’ll get all the answers you want in a moment. Come with me, everyone else has gathered in the command room for a briefing and to introduce you to everyone,” Domino stated and Ezekiel nodded. He stood up and Domino was leading the way. As they were walking out, Ezekiel stopped to see Lea lagging behind as she was tending to a few things at her desk. “Lea, thank you,” He spoke and the girl looked up a little surprised by the quick gratitude from someone she considered a hardened general. She blushed slightly and quickly smiled. “You’re welcome, I’ll catch up,” She spoke and Ezekiel followed Domino’s lead. Word Count: 1,008 Total Word Count: 1,008 |
