Description: A magician of unknown origins has come to the planet Namek, capturing it's inhabitants and placing their souls in a collection of books. If you kill the magician, the souls will be lost forever but if you choose to spare him you must enter a series of books (which will be like other worlds when you enter) and retrieve as many souls as possible. Each book you enter should have some sort of boss at the end.

Part 1:
For the Corporation

The room was well light as the light from Namek’s sun shone through the glass wall of this room. The rays of the sun was distorted by the glass, and thus tossed a thousand tiny rainbows on the floor and desk about the room. From each little rainbow on the floor with the visible streams of light from it to the window, and within those rays of golden light you could see the millions of particulates floating through the air of the room. The front edge of the room was two large windows stretching from the ceiling down to about knee level on an average person, with a sturdy wooden door between them. In both of the windows hung two cream color blinders, which hung easily between the windows and the room itself. The slats on the blinders were turned open as to give only the minor of an obstruction to the view in the room, and the door was ajar slightly, about a quarter of the way open. When standing in the center of the room and facing towards the door, the right wall was covered in a map the size of the entire wall. The map was marked in several pins and also had sticky notes placed near each pin with notes jotted on the tiny adhesive paper. The map appeared to be a very accurate portrait of the surface of the planet Name, with all the main villages and structures clearly labeled.

The Left wall had a closed door in the center that was clearly labeled as a rest room. To the right of that door was a counter top with several creature comfort appliances: a small refrigerator, a coffee maker, a small sink and a microwave. To left of the door was several large industrial filing cabinets. Each was made of thick gray steel, and each was clearly locked with a large round lock in the top left corner of each drawer. In the center of the room was a rectangle table with two chairs on each side and one chair at each end. Papers and cream color folders covered the table in a random jumble. Finally just in front of the back glass wall was a desk with two chairs in front of the desk and one wheeled swiveling chair behind the desk. Upon the desk were more jumbled papers, along with a desk light and several other personal items that were not uncommon to other such desks through out the human society universe.

Behind the desk in the one office chair sat a middle aged human known to most as Erthe. His long blonde hair was kept in a neat braid and hung along his back, and his medium length bangs framed his face. A silver breast plate covers the man’s chest in a decorative fashion, with a thick cotton shirt under the heavy metal chest piece. The breast plate was adorned with decoration all along it and on the top left corner of an engraved ‘GC’; the logo of the Genesis Corporation. The remainder of his attire was black jeans, and sneakers. Erthe was quickly shuffling through some papers, and the look on his face appeared that he was aggravated at the results he was seeing. ”Damn it!” he cursed before slamming his first on the desk, scattering the papers he was looking at across the room. ”At this rate all of the population of Namek will be gone before we can get any real reconnaissance done on this mysterious ‘magician.’ If I don’t get a report back to central agency soon, there will be nothing we can do! Well, I guess I will just give them what I have.” Erthe said, before reaching up and clicking a small button on a telecommunication device on his desk.

Static filled the room for a few seconds before a line was established and a rough voice answered. ”Yes, Agent Erthe? I assume you have a report to make?” the voice asked calmly.

”Yes. It appears at this moment roughly three quarters of the namekian population has been captured and trapped into these ‘books’. From what we have gathered, the are three books, each specifically designed to please those in that book and cause them not to want to return from the book. Any more about the magician himself or the books is unknown at this time. It is my estimation that in three days from now, the remaining population of Namek will be captured and then it may be too late to do anything. What should we do sir?” Erthe asked, while drumming his fingers impatiently on the desk.

”You are to make a planet wide announcement for all available Genesis Corp agents to group with you. Brief them on the mission, and stop this magician at all costs. Get it done.” the rough voice replied.

”Yes sir, I will do it immediately.” Erthe replied and then pressed a second button on the device and the line was closed. Erthe then dug into his pocket and pulled out a small rectangle device. After typing a few things into the device he rose it to his mouth and spoke. ”Attention all Genesis Corporation agents on planet Namek. You are to report to the Genesis Corporation head quarters on Namek immediately. This is an emergency. I repeat, all available Genesis Corporation agents and freelance fighters report to the Genesis Corporation head quarters immediately.” Erthe clicked another button on the small communicator and then set it face down on the desk. Heaving a large sigh, Erthe leaned back in his chair and placed his feet on his desk.

Shaking his head, he mumbled, ”All that is left is to wait now. I wonder who all will show up, I am not even sure of all the agents on planet Namek, let alone who they are.”

Chapter 1
The Black Clad Warrior Chath.

Green water, blue grass, dome-like clay looking dwellings, this is planet Namek the home of the green skinned Namekian race. The namekian race is a peaceful and honorable race and there warrior class is some of the strongest fighters in the universe. Not everyone on the surface of Namek is as peaceful and honorable as the namekians; one particular magician is spending his spare time going around and de-souling the namekians and trapping them in books. None of the natives have been strong enough to stop the magician as of yet, will anyone be able to stop him or is this the end for the people of Namek.

Thick obsidian hair fell down across his back reaching down to just above the back of his knees; his piercing green eyes seemed to look straight though to ones soul, he wore black combat boot along with black combat pants and armor plate that covered his abdomen that had black straps that criss-crossed over his bare chest up around his shoulders running down his back criss-crossing again.

A magnificently crafted sword hung from his belt, the golden hilt was crafted in the likeness of a dragon, the jaws of the dragon connected to the base of the blade on the top and bottom as if the dragon was trying to bite through the steel, the wings of the dragon branched off on each side to form the hilts cross-guard, the body and tail of the dragon twisted around the golden handle the tip of the tail ended at the pummel. The most magnificent part of the sword, however, was not the dragon carved into the golden hilt, it was the beautiful gems set in it; twin sapphires were set in the dragon’s eye sockets and a golf ball sized emerald was set at the tip of the tail as the pummel. A large black trench coat with white shoulder plates and black combat gloves completed his attire.

Chath the black clad human warrior sat at the edge of a large spire of rock looking out past the green water of planet Namek gazing at nothing in particular and thinking about his dead father the man who taught him everything he knew about fighting including both of his combat styles, the martial arts Muay Tai the art of using your body as a weapon and Bi’nelle Dasada which translated into “The Sword Dance”, this rare fighting style teaches mental and physical harmony as well as how to use everything provided around you to gain the advantage in battle.

”What’s wrong my friend?” the question broke the meditative state that Chath was in ”Do not worry yourself, it is nothing.” Chath replied to his closest friend ”You can not hide forever Chath.” replied Belniar ”I am not hiding my friend just reminiscing on times long lost.” Chath replied to Belniar

”Okay my friend I give up, you win this time.” Belniar submitted Chath just nodded in reply to his companion and stood still staring out over the green waters of Namek but his time for reminiscing was over he had more pressing matters to attend to and it was past time that he made a report.

A loud beeping noise came from a pin on the collar of the human warrior’s overcoat the pin actually was his Genesis Corporation commutation device and a familiar voice echoed out ”Attention all Genesis Corporation agents on planet Namek. You are to report to the Genesis Corporation head quarters on Namek immediately. This is an emergency. I repeat, all available Genesis Corporation agents and freelance fighters report to the Genesis Corporation head quarters immediately.” the voice belonged to a fellow agent in Genesis Corp Erthe by name the man happened to be one of Chath’s few friends the human looked over to Belniar ”You heard the man we should get back to HQ to see what the big emergency is.” Chath chuckled despite the serious events occurring on the planet and nodded to his companion signaling for him to follow.

Off the two humans when flying at a comfortable but quick pace the green water whipped by below the occasional blue grassed island with scattered trees broke the seemingly unending body of water fifteen minutes or so later Chath and Belniar landed outside the Genesis Corporation Headquarters Namek Branch. Chath just walked in he knew his way around quite well and was in Erthe’s office shortly after landing Belniar in tow ”Hey Erthe whats the big emergency?” Chath casually asked smiling slightly.

”Urgh, just about got it.” Mather grunted through clenched teeth as he strained against the weight of the bar that was clenched in both his hands. With one last burst of strength, the human boy thrust the bar up and on into its holder, as the sound of metal crashing on metal run throughout the training room as Mather’s arms went limp and he dropped the bar into its cradle. ”Well that was one hell of a work out, but I am pooped now. I wonder when lunch will be.” Mather said as he sat up from his prone position on the bench, and twisted in place to look at the clock mounted on the wall. It was just before high noon, and the compounds cafeteria should be opening in just a few minutes.

”Ah, I finished just in time! I guess I better get this place cleaned up first.” Mather said to himself before trying to stand from the bench. As he lifted his body up off the padded bench, his knees gave a slight wobble, before completely collapsing under the enhanced weight of Mather. ”Urgh, Stupid Gravity! I keep forgetting how hard it is to walk when the gravity is set this high! I need to get over to that control panel.” Mather grunted in frustration to himself as he lay crumpled in a heap on the floor. Using the bench to help him get up, Mather slowly drug himself from the floor and started to waddle towards the control panel on the other side of the room.

Looking around the room, you could get a real sense of how messy Mather was. All around the room were machines to aid in building muscle mass and on or around the machines were piles of weights just laying haphazardly. Just by looking at the creases in the padded mats from the weights, you could tell that the weights weighed several times more then they normally would. A small weight itself left a large indent in the mat when moved, an indent you would only expect from a weight several times its size.

The room itself was large, designed specifically to give plenty of space for plenty of people working out all at once. The fact that Mather was in the room all alone made it seem just that much larger then it normally would. To add to the sense of the room being too large, the walls themselves were covered in mirrors, and thus instead of having definite endings to the room in the way of solid walls, it just seemed to have even more space from the optical illusion the mirrors caused.

When Mather finally made his way across the room to the gravity control panel, just a few clicks of a button had the gravity machine humming to life, and the force of the room’s gravity returned to normal. Standing far straighter then he was just moments before, Mather began to make his way around the training room to clean up the random weights he had left lying around the room.

With the last weight put back in its assigned place on the weight rack, Mather looked around the now much tidier weight room, and slapped his hands together in an obvious attempt to clean them off. ”Whew, now that it is done, I can go grab some grub.” Mather said as he started to make his way towards the exit of the weight room. Before he was able to fully exit, though, the loud speaker started to ring out.
”Attention all Genesis Corporation agents on planet Namek. You are to report to the Genesis Corporation head quarters on Namek immediately. This is an emergency. I repeat, all available Genesis Corporation agents and freelance fighters report to the Genesis Corporation head quarters immediately.” Mather stood froze through the entirety of the announcement, wondering just how quickly Erthe expect him to show.

”It is lunch time right now; certainly he would not expect me to skip lunch to show up in his office, would he? No, I am sure he will allow me some time to get lunch first.” Mather reasoned with himself, and slowly walked towards the door that opened to the hallway leading towards the cafeteria, a voice once again came buzzing over the loud speaker.

”This includes you as well, Mather.” The voice snarled with a slight sense of annoyance to it. ”Report to my office Immediately.” Erthe finished, and then the static faded to nothing as the connection was broken to the loud speakers in the weight training room.

”Aww, shucks. Today was taco day too! Ah well, I guess duty calls. For the Corporation and all that jazz” Mather muttered to himself as he turned and walked towards the door on the opposite side of the room, the one that would lead to the hall way that was the most direct route to Erthe’s office. The smell of tacos wafted through the halls, and Mather’s stomach growled loudly. Mather patted the front of his shirt over the top of his belly. ”I know, I know! I am hungry too, but we just have to wait. Don’t worry; we will really pig out when the time to eat comes around. The reward will be worth the wait!” Mather reassures his tummy as he walks down the hallway, trudging in the direction of Erthe’s office.

* ~ * * ~ * * ~ * * ~ * * ~ * *~*

About fifteen minutes after making the announcement two human warriors Erthe knew well, walked up to his office door. Three sharp knocks rung at his door asking permission to enter the room. When Chath leaned to the side to look through the window, he saw Erthe give a lazy wave to give them permission to enter the room in which he was sitting. Chath and Belniar opened the door and walked into the room, kicking up the settled dust back up into the air, showing it all in the sun rays that slanted through the room. Once in the room, Belniar closed the door and one stood on each side of the door.

Once the door clicked close, Chath asked what the big emergency was. The only reply the human warrior got in response was an upraised finger bidding him to wait just a few more seconds.

About a minute after Chath and Belniar entered the room, Mather came bursting through the door, panting hard. ”I am here!” he roared, with his hands on his knees and his breaths coming in quick bursts as the human teenager tried to keep himself upright. The stains of a quickly eaten taco lunch covered Mather’s face and the front of his work out clothing.

”It is so good of you to join us, Mather.” Erthe said with a shake of his head. His elbows was planted firmly on the desk, the palms of his hands firmly placed together, and the tips of each finger tapping lightly together just under his chin, a quizzical look on his face. ”For future reference, Mather, my son, if you want to convince someone that you got lost instead of going for lunch first, you need to wash your face and brush the crumbs off your clothing. Then at least the evidence that you are lying is not so blatantly clear on you.” Erthe said with a grin and a shake of his head.

Erthe then turned to face Chath and Belniar. ”I would like to hear your report on your reconnaissance mission, if you would be ever so kind to give it to me.” Erthe said, then waited patiently. It was Erthe’s sneaking suspicion that Chath really wasn’t out scouting, but just standing somewhere looking out over the water and reminiscing.

”Attention all Genesis Corporation agents on planet Namek. You are to report to the Genesis Corporation head quarters on Namek immediately. This is an emergency. I repeat, all available Genesis Corporation agents and freelance fighters report to the Genesis Corporation head quarters immediately.”

Sound had errupted from a tiny wrist-watch adorning a blue tinted arm. It seemed as if the Corporation was getting desperate, sending out such a wide-range message to all available parties in the area. It was very obvious that something was happening on the planet, and now that Genesis had gotten involved, things were going to get extremely hectic. The wrist-watch beeped once more, echoing loudly within the confines of the cave, it's small blips magnified in sound by the reverberation of the walls. It was time to make his move.

.Stepping out from the shade of the cavern, The tiny blue figure revealed himself in the light of Namek's mid-day suns. Long, spiked white hair flowing gently in the mid-spring breeze. It was a pleasent time to be among the namekians and their "Spring" season. However, something was indeed occuring around the planet and the young Necruin had begun feeling it not too long prior to the message. Tilting his neck a few times, the child-like warrior began to hover off the ground. Lithe movements seeming a blur before an explosion of power errupted from his being, causing his airborne flight to begin.

Clouds passed by in swift precession as the dimunitive traveller pushed forward with heavy speed. His own investigation to the events unfolding before the peaceful people of this planet. Though the mark of "Genesis" -it's brand marked upon his chest- gave evidence of his affiliation, the tiny warrior hadn't been in contact with headquarters in a very long time. Now just a being of legend, Mist had remained so far out of the eyes of the new generation of operatives and was now little more than an archaic fossil living off the remanants of his last job and it's pay.

However, no matter how much he tried to forget the attrocities of his past, the corporation always seemed to find some-way to get their hands into something he had interest in. Sighing outwardly, the tiny blue bullet continued to soar through the skies, eyes shifting from side to side as he examined the surface bellow. Everything seemed normal, but that wasn't saying much. The planet Namek, as beautiful as it was, also happened to be boring as all fuck.

Erthe patiently watches Chath, waiting to see what his human friend and long time rival has to report on the activities around the planet. ”Well, lets have it! What do you have to report, Chath?” Erthe prompts.

* ~ * * ~ * * ~ * * ~ * * ~ * *~*

This day was a rather normal day in general for the namekian people of this village. Aside from the rumors that several hundred other namekian villages much like this one have been attacked and every inhabitant had disappeared without a trace, the villagers found nothing unusual about this day. Even the rumor itself, was not enough to cause any fuss from the villagers, and the village Elders did their best to keep their companions thinking the news was just that, a rumor.

The village itself consisted of several dozen houses. These houses were all the same; each a medium size white dome, made out what one would assume was clay. Each had a doorway, two round windows and a chimney sticking out of the peak of the dome. The symmetry of the village lay out was almost infuriating for outsiders. Each house was located on the exact same size plot of land, with the same plants growing around the base. To add further to this, each house was set in rows of six, three on each side of the town square. Each house was unmarked in any sort of way, but every Namek villager seemed to know exactly which house belonged to whom, with out even the slightest of thought.

Aside from the namekian farmers out in the field, most of the remainder of the namekians was gathered about the only unique building in the village. This building was a tall rectangular shaped building; this building was white like the others, and also appeared to be made of the same clay like substance. The central building was the town hall of sorts, and all the older namekians were chatting about this or that, while the few namekians not in the fields or by the town hall were scattered about the village tending to the namekian children.

Each one of the villagers continued about their daily routine, undaunted by the monotony of their actions.

* ~ * * ~ * * ~ * * ~ * * ~ * *~*

”We are having a wonderful crop this year, eh Garvon?” A tall Namekian man said to his namekian counter part. The man was shirtless in the middle of a large field growing the plants that were a vital source of the namekian diet. Clasped in left hand was a long wooden handled hoe, which he was gripping at the middle of the shaft. His right hand deftly wiped the sweat beading on his forehead, before coming to rest on the top of the hoe, and he then shifted his weight to use the hoe to support himself and take some of the weight off his aching feet.

”Indeed, Jivin. At this rate we should be finished half a month early, or better!” The second Namek said to the first.

Their small chat continued for several minutes before returning to their tedious back breaking labor. The two namekian companions toiled away unnoticed by the other workers in the fields, and by the village as a whole. Jivin turned his back to Garvon to work on a different area of the field that needed tending. When he reached, the next row, he began work on the land again, until his hoe dug into something much different then dirt. Just at that second, a giant worm like creature busted through the dirt in front of Jivin.

The worm creature was uniformly a dark green color along the top of its body, and a pale tan yellow color along its belly. The only distinguishing feature that separated its front from its back was that at its front were four large tentacles, each with thousands of little suction cups along the tentacles. These tentacles lead to a large gapping mouth that was basically a hollow expanse as wide as its body. The creature, known as a Grick, was roughly eight feet long from the tips of its tentacles to the tip of its body, and weight as much as two fully grown namekians.

If the giant worm creature was not bad enough, riding bear back on top of it was something far more gruesome then some worm! This creature, known as a choker, was vastly smaller then the Grick, its body being about three feet long and weighing all of maybe seventy pounds. Its size was not what made it so gruesome, though. Its skin was a sickly gray in color, and was like a thick rubber covering in appearance. Its head was cylindrical in shape; it had a mouth full of yellow jagged teeth, and had raised bony lumps protruded from its back. Most noticeable of all, though, was its elongated arms and legs. Each arm and leg was at least twice as long as its body, and its hands and feet featured spiny pads that would tear at and grip any surface.

So surprised was Jivin by the sudden appearance of this demonic duo, that his scream caught in his throat and all he was able to do was open and close his mouth soundlessly. The choker reached into one a flap of skin along its body and produced a small clear gem. Then at the speed of sound, its whip like arm shot forward and buried the gem in to the forehead of Jivin. An emerald glow emanated from the gem, and when the light faded, nothing but the gem lying on the ground remained. Inside the small golf ball sized gem was a miniature Jivin frozen and unmoving. With its tasked completed the Choker scooped up the gem, and the Grick turned and dove back into the ground, only for dozens and dozens of more Grick and Choker combination to emerge from the soil beneath the villager’s feet.

The tall obsidian haired human warrior hesitated for a moment as he stood at the front of Erthe’s desk in Genesis Corp Head Quarters on planet Namek. Erthe impatiently gave Chath a prompt to give his report but the human really did not know what to say he had not learned much of the foe while he was out and was sure that everything he did learn was already common knowledge. Chath sighed slightly before looking at his long time friend and rival.

”Well Erthe there is not much to report, while out on my scouting mission I did not find much and sensed no new attacks on any villages. I have noticed that the namekians are disappearing but their homes and villages are mostly intact just abandoned.” Chath paused for a second taking a couple steadying breathing and sorting out how he would continue ”I have found no survivors of any attacked villages and have not been lucky enough to catch a raid in progress so I do not know exactly what is capturing the populace or how they are going about it.”

Chath paused again and took a deep breath ”I did manage to learn that the magician is not capturing the nameks by himself, and I believe that the magician is not even a part of the raids they happen too quickly and efficiently for just one or two people to be executing them and I have not sensed anything that would indicate that the leader has visited any of the villages.” the human continued to report ”Finally the only detail of how the raids happen that I could find is that from appearances at the villages the raids seem to begin underground, each village had dozens of borrows in the ground but that is all the villages show.” the human finished shaking his head slowly at the futility of it all.

Erthe listened quietly as Chath gave his report, giving a soft ‘mmhums’ and other soft murmurs while nodding his head every few seconds through out the report. About half way through the report, Erthe took his feet from his desk, sat up in his chair and crossed his arms. His right hand was tucked tightly under his left elbow, and his left hand stroked his clean shaven face for the reminder of the report.

For several long seconds after words, Erthe remained completely silent, stuck in deep thought, and then finally he cupped his left hand and plopped his chin into the hand for support. ”Very good Chath.” Erthe said with a smile. ”There was a good deal of unknown information in that report, I just wish we could figure out their pattern and stop one of these attacks. Life would be much easier of we knew more about how they attacked, and what they have done during the attacks.” Erthe said with a deep sigh. Erthe then stood suddenly, his chair sliding out from underneath him and skidding across the room towards the glass wall, coming to a stop just inches before colliding into the glass wall.

Pacing around the right side of his desk, Erthe came to a rest just in front of Chath and just behind the end of the center table. With his right hand he motions everyone’s attention in the room to the large map of Namek that was the right side wall. With his left hand he deftly removed a small remote from the inside breast pocket of his shirt. With one click of the remote, a light behind the large map lit up and illuminated the entire map. A second click caused several hundred glowing red dots to appear on the map, all in random locations. ”These are all the confirmed villages that have been attacked thus far, that we have been able to locate. I estimate this to be roughly three quarters of the Namekian population. It has been just over a week since reports of these attacks have started, nine days to be exact. It is my estimation that in three more days, the entire population of Namek will be captured, and I can only assume that if that is to happen, it will then be too late to do anything to rescue the namekian people.”

Erthe paused for a few seconds to let the group digest the information given out thus far. Erthe then clicked the remote for a third time, and then map itself disappeared, and was quickly replace by a three dimensional render of the planet Namek. All of the glowing dots remained on the planet, but they were now only visible when that part of the planet spun around to be visible. Thick yellows lines then appeared between all the dots, connecting them in the order the occurred, and with the distance between the attacks and time frame between attacks listed over the lines. This caused a jumble of confusion and was quite messy, but it made its point. Each line intersected on the northern end of Namek. ”By analyzing the distance and time between each attack, we have discovered the location of the magician’s base. A freelance Namekian agent has confirmed this discovery, and reported back to me about an hour ago. With that said, I think it is in our best interest to launch an attack directly on the Magician and his base of operations. This is why I requested every available agent, but as only you three have responded, it will be just us four making an assault on his strong hold.” Erthe said, before clicking the remote one was time. After this click, the screen went blank and returned to its normal appearance. Erthe then stashed the remote back away from where he had retrieved it. Erthe then retraced his steps and returned back to his chair. Pulling it back into position, Erthe then looked at the group as a whole. He looked at each man in turn, a sly grin on his face, and then nodded slowly to himself. ”We will be departing in ten minutes, I expect you to be fully packed and prepared for the assault. Any questions for me?”

Eyes ever vigilant, the tiny blue warrior sped along the planet's surface, doing everything in his power to mask his presence. His mind, sharp and focused, continued to examine every detail he could make-out amidst his high speed travel. It didn't take long for his eyes to lock onto the sight of villagers screaming and running for their lives in a tiny village not too far off of the eastern side of the planet. His movement stopping so suddenly caused the violet flames wrapped around his body to dissipate, his lithe form hovering motionless above the clouds.

"...."

Word's could not escape his lips at the attrocities he was witnessing before him. Namekian children and workers were running for their lives from these mysterious creatures. Their screams of terror brief, almost non-exsistant, as the creatures plauging their village converged upon them like vultures upon the dead. Each Namekian vanishing in a flash of light, only to be removed from the area by the grey-skinned beasts. This could not stand.

Releasing the technique sustaining his flight, the dimunitive warrior began free-falling like an arrow. His narrow frame falling swiftly only dragging slightly due to his extended arms. Shapped like a T, Mist continued his frightful drop until, at the last minute he released a burst of energy from his feet to cease his descent inches from the ground. Placing his cloth-wrapped feet upon Namek's surface once more, the Necruin gazed at the creatures whose attention were now upon him.

Snarling, one particularly brave monstrosity approached him. Salivating over the prospect of a "Fresh Catch", the grey skinned beastie spoke in a gluttural, serpent like tone. His feral eyes burning holes into the tiny warrior's skin as he examined every facet of his being. Chuckling to it's friends, obviously finding Dar'Kon's form to be of no threat, he pointed and laughed at the tiny warrior. His voice mocking and beligerent.

"SSSSSeee what the grand eldersss have sssent for? Thissss tiny pieccccee of bravery jussst sssigned hisss death warrant hahaha!"

At first the rest of the worm riding monsters joined their brother in his laughter, however they all stopped short, causing the still laughing "leader" to question their cease in gleeful fun. Turning to them all in turn he began to question what was wrong.

"What? What isss it Brothersss?"

One terrified creature turned and, shakingly, pointed at Mist's direction once more.

Returning his attention on the tiny blue warrior, the mocking creature noticed it's tendril like hand to be nothing more than a stump, the rest of which lied twitching on the ground. Widened eyes caused the oddly shapped cranium of the abductor to slightly grow before screams emitted from the monsters mouth, pain finally registering as blood began to spurt from the open wound. His enraged eyes glaring at Mist, he gave but one order.

"KILL HIM!!!"

The Wurm-ryders exploded into action, their mounts and forms rushing towards the warrior with surprising speed. Whip like tentacles stretched towards the child-like man as a blur of motion wrapped each tendril around the arms, legs and neck of the defiant one. Mist's limbs were stretched out, an attempt to cease any counter-attacks from his now bound form. The wounded choker approached the helpless fighter his anger tinted voice filled with an ego that came usually from lesser predators after the quarry had been caught.

"You thought you could get away with sssuch incccolenccce? You fool, I'll take great pleasure in ssssqueezing the life from your-"

He never got a chance to finish the sentence. A large violet aura exploded around the tiny warrior, his body aflame with power. Swiftly, the tiny Necruin released a ki-pulse that knocked all the chokers and their wurm-mounts away from him. His eyes ablaze with killing intent. The flashing light continued for a moment as he summoned out his twin ki-blades to stretch out of his wrist. He was going to show no mercy. Mist was ready to defend the Namekians for one reason...he was bored as hell.

Chath finished the report on his findings and waited for Erthe’s reply, the two rivals stared at each other for a few seconds before Erthe replied Chath quietly listened to Erthe as he briefed the three Genesis Corp operatives in attendance. The human did not realize the extent of damage the magician had caused two thirds of the namekian population gone this magician had become a major nuance and had to be defeated. Erthe finished his briefing giving the departure time of ten minutes.

”Ten minutes eh Erthe well Belniar and I are ready to depart right now so when ever you and Mather are ready we can go.”

Chath glanced back at the far wall that the maps used in the briefing had been projected on. The amount of havoc the magician had caused weighed heavily on the mind of the honorable warrior, he did not particularly care for the namekians they were a peaceful race but not always the most pleasant to be around that aside Chath believed that he must do what ever possible to help them.

”On second thought I will be needing that ten minutes after all, Belniar unless you have something you must attend to stay here with Erthe and Mather.”

”Ok then Chath see you in ten.”

The human just nodded to his friend they had not known each other very long but they had become friends fast. Chath took his leave he had to work fast if he wanted to be back in time the human hurried to his quarters he went strait to his bedside table opening the top right hand drawer opening a hidden compartment in the back the human grabbed something closing the drawer and rushing from the room and out of the building. Chath’s aura burst to life around his tall muscular frame as he took flight jetting across the sky as fast as he could muster.

”You guys feel that Chath’s power just sky rocketed he is heading somewhere.”

”Do not worry he will be back before we depart.”

A short time later Chath landed in front of a well hidden cave entrance after a quick check to make sure his traps had not been sprung the human entered going to the back wall of the shallow gave the human cleared away so piled rubble to reveal a large safe with a single key hole. Chath removed the key that he had retrieved from the drawer from his pocket and unlocked the safe.

In it sat what appeared to be an exact duplicate of the sword that rested on his hip the human unsheathed both swords revealing that they were not exact copies the only resemblance was the golden dragon hilts. The blade of the sword that was in the safe had three large rubies set in each side of the blade, the blade also held a red glow around it and the metal itself seemed to shine even in the dimly lit cave.
Ten minutes after the briefing right on time Chath landed outside of the head quarters next to his three companions.

”Sorry about that I had to retrieve something before we left.

Just a small burst of this blue devil warrior’s energy had repelled sarrgoth and his warriors. Who does this creature think he is defying the master and thinking to get away with it?

”The massster will not tolerate sssuch incccolenccce, sssurender now and you may be ssspared.”

Sarrgon rather just kill this little blue nuisance and be done with it but the master enjoyed obtaining new toys. The choker spurred his grick mount forward toward Mist spitting a glob of acidic saliva at him as he pasted, the other mounted Grick worms charged at the blue warrior as well elastic like arms shot in at Mist from every direction all trying to grab and hold him. Sarrgon kept his distance being at a disadvantage with only one arm and all but the evil worm rider did not just stand around doing nothing, the choker launched glob after glob of acid at the little blue annoyance that had interrupted its fun.

The battle raged on chokers and gricks attacked Mist from every side just waiting until the outnumbered fighter feel over from exertion.

Erthe nodded to his companions as they looked to him to continue the mission. ”I will now lead you three to the location of the Magician’s keep. You are to follow me, and once we arrive at the Magician’s keep you are not to break formation unless completely necessary. I am positive there will be some sort of defense system or traps in place to ward off those brave enough to attempt to breech his keep. If anything happens to me, or any of the rest of us, the remainder of the group is to continue the mission regardless of what happened or condition the effected member is in. This mission can not be failed, and thus there is no retreating, we succeed at this assault, or we die trying? Is that understood?”

Each of the three members standing before Erthe nodded that they understood the terms of the mission, and would comply.

”Very well, lets begin then.” Erthe stated, and then without waiting a second, a burst of ki energy propelled upwards and away from his current location, Erthe did not lay off his pace, he knew that Chath would be able to keep up slightly, but the two second class agents would have great troubles keeping up, but if they couldn’t do something so simple, they would be useless against someone such as the magician. They did have ki sensing abilities that were on par with Erthe and Chath, after all.

”I am going and that is a fact. Regardless of how much you argue with me, Elder Foghorn, I will not change my mind and there is no way you can stop me, even if you tried.” The tall and angry looking Namekian youth stated to the older and shorter Namekian Elder across the table from him.

The young Namekian Warrior was not that young, as he was fully grown and his body was fully developed. This warrior was quite buff for his race, and even though a above average human would far surpass him in muscle mass, weight and height, he seemed almost like a giant compared to those of his race. His features where sharp, his skin was smooth and free of scars or any other imperfections but his eyes burned like two coals of pure intensity that marked him as part of the warrior class of Namekians.

”You should not attempt this! Your entire clan attempted to defeat that magician and they failed! It is fool hardy to charge head long into his keep, especially when we all could use you here to defend the helpless while we gather the remaining Namekians. If we are going to defeat this magician, we are going to have to work like a team! You are the strongest Namekian warrior left on the planet, if we lose you, and then the whole plan is for naught!” The elder argued with the namekian youth, and friend.

”Regardless of wether or not you want me to go, I am going. I refuse to stand here and argue with you while more and more of our people are captured by this fiend. You ever thing of those he have captured? They could be in pain, or they could even already be dead! We don’t know, and by waiting around for you fool hearty elders and procrastinators, more and more of our people could be lost forever. I am going to go and defeat this vile minion of darkness and free our family, and you wont stop me!” the Namekian warrior roared, before charging out of the building, leaving the flabbergasted elder standing in place, his mouth flopping open and closed like a fish out of water.”

With a sudden burst of energy to reverse his momentum, Erthe landed on the Namekian turf with greatly reduced impact. His landing was still much rougher then one would normally expect, and he ignored the groans and screams of pain from his knees and other joints, as the impact jolted his legs. It was obvious to tell that Erthe was rather angry, and the fact that Chath and the others were still several seconds behind him was proof enough for that. ”Where is it?” Erthe fumed, his voice tight and angry, the young Genesis Corporation captain seeming on the verge of a melt down.

As Erthe continued to swing his head to the left and to the right, still continuously searching for the keep, Chath and the others finally caught up to him and landed next to the enraged captain.

”Where could this blasted keep be? It should be right here! All the reports and studies indicate that the keeps location would be in this area. The reports are never wrong!” Erthe fumed, his fists clenched and his teeth bared.

”Calm down, friend.” Chath said as he walked over to Erthe and placed a hand on his superior’s shoulder, but a sudden glare from Erthe caused Chath to rethink the gesture and drop his hand back down to his own side. ”Might the keep be under ground? The reports indicate that most of the attacks originate from burrows under the namekian villages, so maybe the keep is underneath the surface of Namek. Have you thought of that?” Chath said, and then turned to the two second class Genesis Corporation agents looking for support.

”I have thought of that!” Erthe said, his voice growing tight and his words coming out dangerously slow. ”I thought of that, of course, but there is no signs of an entrance anywhere in this vicinity. So that would mean we would have to scour the entire planet for entrances to subterranean tunnels, and hope like hell that they lead us back to here. So I say that we just blast our way into Namek and create our own tunnel.” Erthe said the scowl on his face slowly turning to a grin.

”That would be most unwise, that it would.” Chath said with a shake of his head. ”Maybe if we return back to base and…. Chath begun, but was quickly interrupted by Mather.

”I don’t mean to interrupt your riveting conversation, but what is that?” Mather said, indicating towards the sky with one hand, a big smile on his goofy face.

As Mather had suggested, something odd was happening in the sky. At first glance nothing appeared out of the ordinary; the sky was its normal pale green color, but when everyone noticed the sun, they noticed that the sun was half already gone and quickly disappearing fully. Within seconds the sun had completely disappeared and left only pale green sky in its place. About a minute later, the sun made its reappearance, first as only a tiny sliver, but quickly growing until he returned to its former and unchanged glory.

”You guys just see what I think I just saw?” Belniar asked with a taken back voice, his surprise apparent.

”Yeah, that’s why I pointed it out. I was looking up at the sun to check its position, wondering when dinner would be, and I saw it disappear! It was crazy.” Mather said, though less surprised then Belniar.

”Genius. Why did I not think of that before?” Erthe said with a shake of his head. His voice was excited, but also a bit upset at the fact that he was out smarted ”He is using a cloaking device. What better way to avoid unwanted visitors then to make it so they can never find where you are. If it wasn’t for the cloaking devices minor flaw, and the angle we were standing at, we may have never found where it was at!” Erthe said, a sinister grin slowly creeping on his face. ”Well boys, shall we proceed?” Erthe asked.

”We have visitors, dark lord.” A raspy voice whined from the shadows to one side of the large room. The room was quite dark, so much of the details were obscured by the cloak of darkness, but the general appearance of the room was still obtainable. The room was medium sized, not too large, but not small enough to make it feel cramped. The center three feet of the room was lit by a dimly pulsing fountain that was placed in the center of the room, but more on that in a bit.

At one end of the room was a decretive door way. At the top corners of the door frame was two skulls craved into the wood, their grim visage carefully shaped and formed to make them feel all the more eerie. Within each eye socket was set a ruby the size of a middle age child’s fist, and a faint glow rested inside the rubies, giving the skulls the appearance as if watching over those within the room.

At the exact opposite of the room was a large chair with a high back that extended well above the head of those who sat in it. Pouring over the sides of the chair and then mingling into the darkness on either side of the room was a black smoke like substance. However, it didn’t appear to be smoke, but rather darkness itself, as it slowly wafted over the arms of the chair and poured to the waiting ground below.

Just inside the darkness to one side of the chair was the owner of the raspy voice, a small winged imp like creature. It knelt just inside the shadows, with its face firmly pressed to the floor now that it wasn’t speaking and its arms stretched far out in front of its kneeling form, in a completely submissive bow to its ‘dark lord.’ The imp’s skin was a leathery texture, and appeared to be thick enough to repeal a dagger if it was to be attacked. While the skin was thick, there was very little mass to the creature otherwise. Its body, arms and legs were all thin and skeletal like, and at the tip of each appendage was a long razor sharp bone spur that passed as nails or claws. To wrap off the whole creature, it sported two bat like wings sticking out of its back, and at the tip of each of these wings was a similar razor sharp bone spur as that adorned each appendage.

Sitting in the center of the room was a large fountain. It stood on a single leg, raising the bowl high above the floor (think bird bath.) The fountain itself was made out of a mixture of Onyx and Ivory, the two minerals mixed and blended together to have the black and white colors swirling around in an intricate design. Along the stem of the fountain was a carved image of bi-pedal creatures being tortured by creatures similar in appearance to the imp creature kneeling a few yards away from it. Also featured on the stem of the fountain were piles of decaying bodies as well as piles of skeletal remains, each pile topped with the same horned skull as the one before it.

The square bowl of the fountain featured a skeletal claw sticking up from the corners of the fountain, and grasped in each was four different gemstones. A diamond, a Ruby, A sapphire and an emerald, each pulsating with the magic that filled the fountain and a thin line of energy extended from each gem, just to collide with the other strings of light emitting from the other three gemstones above the center of the fountain. Within the bowl it self was a thin layer of silvery liquid. There was just enough liquid to give the base of the bowl a thin layer and instead of reflecting the light that was falling from the strings of light from the gemstones, a scene reflected from the liquid. The scene showed Erthe, Chath, Mather and Belniar standing on the surface of Namek, each staring in to the sky and gaping at something that wasn’t totally apparent.

”Ah, wonderful, let them come.” A evil voice cheerfully replied.

”Ah, there it is!” The namekian warrior said as he finally located the cloaked keep of the Magician that was plaguing the Namekian populace. With the keep finally located, the namekian warrior was free to place his device he used to uncloak the keep with back into the satchel tied to his belt. ”Now all that is left for me to do is kill that foul magician and free my people, and this entire nightmare will be done and over with for once and forever.” The green warrior said with a sinister snarl on his face.

As he neared the keep, though, he noticed a group of four humans standing on a bluff far below him. ”What are humans doing here? They must be working for this fiend that is attacking our people!” The namekian warrior said before changing directions to head straight for the four human Genesis Corporation agents.

”Well boys, shall we proceed?” Erthe asked and then jumped up into the air, raising towards the Magician’s keep, when Belniar’s voice cut in

”Incoming! Watch out, there is a rather angry looking Namekian making his way towards up, be on your guard.” The second class Genesis Corp. Agent warned, and Erthe descended back to the ground below his feet.

Erthe took a few steps towards where the Namekian Warrior had landed, his face calm, and even a welcoming smile crossing his face. ”Hello fr . .” Erthe started, but he was quickly cut off by an angry snarl from the Namekian Warrior.

”Silence filth!” the native warrior barked as he neared Erthe. ”You attack my people and help that heinous magician and then you have the gull to speak to me? You are worse then filth, now prepare to die.” the man said before launching himself at Erthe. With a straight armed punch flying towards the Genesis Corporation Captain’s face, the Namek was quick to land the blow and move onto the next attack.

The punch rocked Erthe’s jaw, and caused him to stagger back, but Erthe was quick to recover from the unexpected attack and make an attempt to defend himself. Quickly a flurry of physical attacks flew at Erthe, but the wise Captain was able to block each attack, receiving only minor pain from each attack.

After the momentary shock wore off, Chath was quickly to force his body into two forms, and quickly the now five warriors were able to surround and subdue the Namekian before he could do any major damage to the group of Genesis Corporation Agents.

”Oh! Look Dark Lord! Look! They are fighting them selves. The intruders are fighting among themselves, if we are lucky they might just kill each other off and save us the trouble. Yes Dark Lord, Yes! Look at it happen!” The impish creature screeched in joy as it hopped up and down like a performing chimp.

”Enough Drazil. Have the preparations been made for the arrival of these intruders.” The voice behind the high back chair asked in his sinisterly thin voice. The question froze the imp in place, his eyes going as wide as saucers as it stared at the fountain in the middle of the room. Slowly the imp known as Drazil turned to face the back of his master’s chair, before dropping to the floor, groveling for his masters forgiveness.

”No Dark Lord! I have not. Forgive me Dark Lord forgive me! I will not fail you again! I will go now, and fix my awful mistake. Forgive me Dark Lord, do not punish poor Drazil, I be just a dumb imp! You deserve a mighty devil! Yes, Dark Lord, you deserve so much more!” The Imp roared in a high pitched squealing voice, his whine enough to cause a normal person’s ear drums to explode.

”Calm Drazil, you are fine, just go make the preparations and all will be fine, but go now!”

With the namekian warrior finally subdued, the party of Genesis Corporation Agents stood about the namekian warrior, catching their breath and nursing the their few bumps and bruises from the rabid namekian. The two forms of Chath were holding the jade warrior, one on each side with an arm grasped firmly by each form.

”What on earth was wrong with you? We are working for your people, trying to help put an end to this Magician. What ever possessed you to attack us?

The young and head strong warrior looked on the brink of exploding again, but was quickly beginning to calm as the situation was starting to clear up in his mind. It was more then clear, though, that the proud warrior was not a fan of being held like he was some sort of criminal that may run from the authorities. ”I am the strongest remaining member of the Namekian Warrior class left on Namek. I thought you were working for the fiend that has been plaguing my people and thus I tried to eliminate you. If you are not in consorts with the magician who is hovering above our heads at right this second, then I have no problems with you. Just release me and I will be on my way to stop this madman before my people are extinct.” The warrior said as he looked to both of the Chath forms and giving his arms a defiant jerk as he requested to be released.

Chath hung on tightly, though, until finally Erthe nodded his permission for the warrior to be released. As the two Chath forms released the Namekian Warrior, he gave one last defiant jerk of his arms, before rubbing his forearms where Chath was griping the limbs at. With his duty of being security guard done, Chath remerged back into one person. ”What is your name?” The First Class Genesis Corporation agent asked, with a look of real curiosity on his face as he waited for the Namekian to reply to his question.

”My name is Jaggard.” Jaggard replied simply, but as he spoke his name, he puffed his chest and raised his chin into the air, as if his name was important and should carry the weight of recognition for the four human companions.

”Well, it is nice to meet you, Jaggard of the Nameks” Erthe replied and extended his hand to the namekian warrior in a sign of friendship. ”This would be Belniar.” Erthe said as he waived his hand towards Belniar, his hand flat and his palm facing up in the air. ”He is an agent in the Genesis Corporation and currently holds the rank of second class.” Erthe then moved his hand towards Mather, and gave his companion a nod. ”This is my son, Mather, and he is also a second class agent of Genesis Corporation.” Erthe then turned to face Chath, who snapped to attention giving Jaggard a salute. ”This would be Chath. He is my second in command and holds the highly coveted rank of First Class in the Genesis Corporation.” Erthe then placed his hand on his chest and bowed his head to Jaggard for a split second, before continuing. ”And I am Erthe, Captain of the third squad of Genesis Corporation. It is our current mission to infiltrate this keep and release the Namekian people trapped inside. You are more then welcome to join us if you wish, but it if you do make sure that you do not interfere with any of our operations.” Erthe said, and watched the reactions of Jaggard as he spoke.

The Namekian seemed willing to accept the offer to help, and even happy to have assistance in his mission, but also appeared offended at the thought that he might interfere with their operations. It was obvious that the Namekian’s pride caused him to still see himself as a superior to the Genesis Corporation Squad even though they had overpowered and subdued him.

”Well, I think I will be joining you, but make sure that you do not interfere with my operations! I will show you Genesis Corporation twerps how this is done. Now let’s get a move on.”

Emerging through the door, a single Choker walked towards the high back chair that contained the magician know only as ‘Dark Lord’ to his evil minions. In this Choker’s hands rested a large gem the size of a small watermelon, and inside pulsed a soft powder blue light, and the miniaturized versions of several dozen Namekians. The most prominent was the namekian known as Jivin. ”Master, I have a delivery of Namekians, just as you ordered. They are ready for you.” The choker hissed in its reptilian like voice.

”Ah very nice, now place the gem in its holder and leave. I will take care of the rest.” The Magician said, the morbid sound of joy finding its way into his evil voice.

”Yes master! I will.” The Choker replied while bowing several times to the back of the magician’s chair. It then scampered over to a small skeletal device. It was hallow in the center like a bowl, but three long skeletal fingers stuck up in to hallow space, to provide a bracket for the gem to sit in. The Choker deftly placed the gem in the holder, and as it snugly fell into place, he turned and skittered from the room, slamming the door solidly in place behind him.

When the last echo of the door slamming shut faded from the room, the magician spun his chair about to face towards the gem. The visage of the magician was more morbid then one might have first expected. The most striking feature of the magician was his head. His ash gray skin was a stark contract to most living flesh. Many layers of folded rotten skin cover the magician’s bulbous head. Most striking of all though, was the many tentacle like growths sprouting from the face of the magician. As a whole the magician gave the very impression of an octopus on a bi-pedal humanoid like body. Several patches of flesh were missing from the face and head of the magician, which allowed the ivory glow of his bleached skeleton shine through the sickly dead gray of his rotting skin. His bulbous lens like eyes were dark with the shimmer of life long since gone from them.

His clothing was long flowing orange robes, with wide spacious arms, which were more then wide enough for his arm to fit through, with room to spare. His arm shared the same ash gray lifeless hue, and ended in boney claw like fingers. Each finger sported a inch long claw like nail at the end which was carefully painted in what one could only guess to be blood.

A thin smile of sorts crossed the undead magician’s face, his tentacles curling up in glee. The illthid lich magician stood from his thrown and glided from his seat to the gem that was propped on its skeletal holder, lifting it up in front of his face and gazing into its depths. ”Ah yes, a good haul this time. This will add nicely into my collection.” he said, and then turned and glided across the room to a bookshelf near the entrance to the room. He deftly pulled a book from the shelf and opened it on a near by desk. With the book open and ready to receive the magician’s bounty, the undead lich pushed two clawed fingers into the gem. Instead of clanking on the crystalline outside of the gem, his finger phased right through the gem, and soon pulled out the inch tall Jivin, held aloft between two claws like nails. The Magician then turned and set him on the book, which he quickly phased from sight into. ”Yes, a good haul indeed. What a collection I am gaining!” the undead monstrosity wailed in glee.

”Over here” Jaggard said, as his item led him straight back to the keep that had slowly drifted away from the group as the talked for several minutes below. ”I am right on the edge of it, so when you pass me, prepare yourself.” The namekian warned, but his warning was not heeded by the impatient humans. Each of the four dove head first into the cloaking field without hardly slowing long enough to hear what Jaggard had to say. As quick as the four flew past Jaggard, they each disappeared from sight in turn. Shaking his head to himself, Jaggard joined the group in passing through the cloaking field.

Flying into the boundary of the keep was like flying into a icy cold pool of milk. It was thicker then water, but still liquid in texture. It was almost like a semi solid, but was as cold as a glacier pond. After coming to the other side of the cloaking field, all five of the heroes were taken aback at the sight that waited their eyes.

Sitting on top a platform vastly similar to kami’s lookout on Earth, sat a giant castle like keep. The cloaking field seemed to hold an atmosphere of its own, as it was now dark out, a night sky surrounding the silhouette of the keep. The orange glow of a large full moon gave an eerie glow to the whole area, and most surprising of all, they all stood in a vast pine forest, when just moments ago they were flying. When Mather leapt into the air to fly towards the keep, he fell flat on his face.

As the others chuckled at the foolishness of the human, he stood and looked sheepishly at them. ”It appears that we are unable to fly while in here. So don’t count on your other ki abilities to work, either.” Mather said as he placed his right hand on his hip and ran his left hand through his hair and then patted the back of his head several times.

”Okay everyone, form up, and lets start the hike towards the keep.” Erthe instructed, and as the others fell in line with him, his Genesis Corporation device begun to buzz. Quickly Erthe retrieved the device and activated it. ”Erthe, Captain of the third squad of Genesis Corporation speaking. What is it sir?” Erthe asked, his face surprised at the interruption from Genesis Corporation head quarters.

”There has been a change in plans. First Class Agent Chath and Second Class Agent Belniar are to report to the Namek Head Quarters immediately. First Class Agent Chath has been reassigned to a different mission on Planet Vegeta, and Second Class Agent Belniar will act as his second in command. They will be teleported to Planet Vegeta as soon as he arrives back at base.”

”But Sir, our mission is top priority! He was ordered to complete this mission at all costs.” Erthe begun to argue back.

”Silence Captain. This mission takes precedence. Send the two Agents post haste and continue your mission on the following terms. It has been now been downgraded to a reconnaissance mission. Your top objective is to scout the Magician’s keep. If you are able to infiltrate the keep and eliminate the target, then fine, but do not get yourself killed. Is that understood Captain?” The voice asked over the communicator.

”Yes sir, understood, sir!” Erthe replied dutifully. The communicator then cut out, and Erthe returned it to his pocket. ”You heard him Chath, Belniar. You have your orders. You are dismissed.” Erthe said as the two agents nodded and took their leave of the keep. Erthe then turned and faced Jaggard and Mather. ”Lets proceed, shall we?” Erthe asked, a new glimmer in his eyes.

* ~ * * ~ * * ~ * * ~ * * ~ * * ~ *

”They have arrived! Yes, Yes, They have!” Drazil chanted to himself and he hopped around a lower dungeon of the keep. He was surrounded by a dozen cages or so, each with a pair of glowing red eyes looking back at him. ”They have arrived, and it is your time to show them the folly of attacking our keep. Yes the folly! Now go, yes go and show them the folly!” The Imp said as he threw open the locking bolts on each of the cages and show like creatures shot forth from each of the cages. ”Go and feast, my friends! Show them the folly, as you munch on their remains!” Drazil cackled.

* ~ * * ~ * * ~ * * ~ * * ~ * * ~ *

”It is quite quiet is it not?” Mather said, his voice barley above a whisper as the trotted through the woods. Mather was sweeping his from side to side, as he walked stooped forward and slightly crouched, his fear obviously pouring off the young man.

Erthe and Jaggard both looked back towards Mather, their heads shaking in pity at the same time, before turning back to face the trail in front of them, continuing their steady pace. ”Yes, it is quiet. Unnaturally so, but maybe that is a good thing, don’t you think? It means we will hear anything approaching us long before it arrives. So quit worrying” Erthe said, his voice casual and now showing any real signs of fear.

That quickly changed, though when a growl rung out from the trail in front of Erthe. The human Captain stopped dead in his tracks and Jaggard and Mather followed suit.

There not more then a dozen strides in front of the pair stood six wolf like creatures. They were identical to the normal wolf except in two aspects. The first would be the glowing read eyes that bored straight to your soul and chilled the three warriors to their bones. The second and more noticeable difference were their size. Each of these wolf creatures, known as worgs, was as large as a bear. Their size combined with the seven inch fangs in their agape mouth was enough to even send a shiver down the seasoned Captain’s spine.

”Oh my” Mather squeaked, before reaching his hand out and snapping his fingers then patting his thighs. ”Good puppy, yes nice puppy. You wouldn’t want to eat us, would you?” Mather said, his voice thin with fear.

”Actually, that would be exactly what they would want to do.” Drazil’s voice cut through the night air, causing Mather to jump and spin to face the Imp lying lazily on a tree branch. ”You thought you would be allowed to enter the Dark Lord’s keep with out any resistance? Well, if you did, you obviously thought wrong. These are my babies, and they are called Worgs. They are the weakest of my Lord’s army, but they should prove to be more then enough of a challenge for you.” The Imp said before letting out a long peiricing cackle. ”Now, my worgs, devour them!” Drazil wailed before fluttering away into the night sky.

Before anyone could react to the Imps sudden retreat into the sky, the Worgs were on to the trio of warriors, two attacking each. Erthe, being the closest to the Worgs, was the first to engage his pair. Erthe was holding his own against the two creatures, but they were more then he would have liked to face at once. He was forced to use knife like copping motions with his hands to keep the snapping jaws of the worgs from closing in on him.

Meanwhile, Jaggard and Mather were not fairing nearly as well as Erthe was. Jaggard was caught by surprise as one of the Worgs pounced on him, and he was now trapped under the bulky mass of one Worg as the other continuously snapped at his head.

Mather, on the other hand, took off running and shouting as two Worgs approached him. Mather knew that he was not a match for the two wolf creatures just by seeing the hassle Erthe and Jaggard were having. Mather just hoped he could flee long enough for Mather and Jaggard to lend him assistance.

Finally gaining a rhythm with the two creatures, Erthe started to gain some headway with his pair, and was actually putting them back on the defense as he launched a combination of attacks. Erthe started land several palm strikes on one Worg, stunning it long enough to snap one hand into his vest and draw out two silver daggers. The one Worg that wasn’t stunned lunged forward and snapped at Erthe, but it found only a mouth full of dagger waiting for it. With the dagger plunged to the hilt in the roof of the Worg’s mouth, Erthe turned to the one Worg remaining. With it’s partner gone, Erthe was quickly able to dispatch the second Worg.

With his foes slain, Erthe turned to see Jaggard sorely pressed under the continuous attacks of the two Worgs. Jaggard was barley holding his own by using his two extended whip like arms to focus one on each Worg. Each arm showed several bloody bite marks from when Jaggard had let his concentration slip for a moment.

When Erthe jumped into the fight, though, the two warriors found it much easier to handle the worgs when they were fighting on their own. With Erthe using his daggers and Jaggard using his mystic attack, the two were able to finally able to slay the second pair of Worgs.

Breathing hard and on the brink of exhaustion, the two warriors turned to face each other. Each of them could tell that the other was nearing the limit of their stamina and were sorely in need of a rest. ”Where is Mather?” Erthe suddenly asked as it dawned on him that his son was missing.

”He ran that way.” Jaggard said, pointing down the trail in the direction they had came from. ”Do you think he is still okay?” Jaggard asked, sincere worry showing on his face.

”Knowing him the way I do, he probably found a way to deal with them. He may not be as strong as us, but he is crafty.” Erthe said with a smile as several funny situations ran though his mind. ”But just to be safe, we better go find him.” Erthe said, and then began to run down the trail back in the direction that Mather had fled in. Jaggard gave a curt nod and then quickly followed after the Genesis Captain.

Not more then two hundred feet down the trail, the pair came upon the broken body of a Worg, crushed under a fallen tree. With no sign of Mather or the other Worg in sight, they continued down the trail. Adventually the two came upon a Worg trying unsuccessfully to climb a tree. After quickly plunging his dagger into the base of the Worg’s skull, Erthe found a bloody and bruised Mather huddled in the tree. With a sheepish grin, Mather greeted Erthe with ”I couldn’t find another tree I could knock down, So I waited for you here. I am glad they couldn’t climb.”

Jumping down from the tree, Mather looked at the others. ”So what now?” He asked, and the others looked at each other and nodded, their decision already made.

”We are too weak to fight this magician without our ki powers. We will return to Genesis Corporations Headquarters, and arrange for more fighters to come with us next time, and Jaggard will return to his village and arrange their warriors for another assault.” Erthe explained as they all returned to the cloaking Field, and jumped through, each of the thread heading in back to the own locations.

Fantastic! - The descriptive abilities of this writer blew me away through out the entire Quest, however; one specific chunk that I especially found enjoyable, was:
Erthe's Sample:

Flying into the boundary of the keep was like flying into a icy cold pool of milk. It was thicker then water, but still liquid in texture. It was almost like a semi solid, but was as cold as a glacier pond. After coming to the other side of the cloaking field, all five of the heroes were taken aback at the sight that waited their eyes.
