A cold sensation rushed through her body. This sensation was enough to bring her out of a state of unconsciousness. Her eyes slowly opening, she could see nothing but a wall. No...it was the ground. She was laying face first on the ground. Odd, considering what she was doing before that. Slowly she got to a point where she was up on her knees. There was the feeling of a headache pulsing through her brain. A hand on her head, she shook it gently back and forth trying to regain her senses just a bit. That's when she noticed what lay ahead of her. It appeared to be some sort of wasteland. There was nothing but desolate terrain, dead plants and a black & red sky above her. What kind of place was this?

Kasume rose to her feet, confused, cold and possibly growing hungry. She remembered it clear as day. She was in the spirit realm. A fighting competition had just ended and she was one of the top three fighters at the ceremony to accept a prize. That's right! Before she could accept the prize, an enchantress she battled against named Morgana had opened an exit portal from the spirit realm, and attempted to push her through. She must have blacked out during the fall. So now she was in this place she didn't recognize. Kasume would have her suffer the most painful death if she ever caught up with that bitch again.

"Much as I'd like to see what this place is about..I have better things to do," she spat in anger.

She aimed a hand ahead of her and attempted to focus her energy.

"Mitchaka kusone!" she chanted.

Her eyes widened to fact that nothing came of the chant. That chant was supposed to open a portal to the spirit realm. But it did nothing.

"Ok, what the hell is with this? MItchaka kusone!" she said.

This time she swiped her hand across the air as she said it. Still nothing. Her ability to conjur a spirit realm portal was gone. This complicated things quite a bit. If she couldn't conjur a gateway to the spirit realm, then what now? Kasume's frustration started to set in. But as it had in the past, interruption would follow. It came in the form of a voice behind her.

"Well, you're a strange manner of creature."

Kasume turned ready to respond. Then she got a look at the person speaking to her. It was a bearded figure who had to be at least seven feet taller. Initialliy surprised by this, she then became apprehensive.

"Seven foot behemoth and you're calling me strange? You have some nerve! Also who are you calling a creature?"

"You will now come with me. We do not take kindly to strangers trespassing here."

Kasume couldn't be stopped here. She had places to go and a certain person to kill.

"Sorry, but I was just leaving. So do me a favor and step out of my way or I'll force my way through,"

This of course escalated the situation. Kasume then noticed that three more men just like this big goon would show themselves just then.

"If you will not come quietly, we will take by force."

This was fine by her. She was already thinking it might come to this anyway. Four big guys to knockdown? She'd dealt with far worst. Stance ready she prepared to do what she needed to get past. It looked like they were prepared to do the same, so she decided to get started. Her right forefinger and middle flinger prepared she tried to focus power into them and at first she saw the signs of energy gathering at the tips but when the energy vanished she was left stunned.

What?

"Take her now!" the big guy shouted.

Kasume found herself rushed by all four of them and was made to take a high leap into the air to avoid them. Her eyes widened when she found that one of them had placed themselves behind her. Then she was forced to plummet when the guy gave her a hand swipe across the back. Smashing the ground harshly, it came to her that her abilities had been sealed off. Shit! In this condition, those four freaks would meet their intentions rather quickly. Fear, not exactly set in, but desperation just around the corner, she had to channel power somehow. That enchantress really did a number on her. The four strangers approached where she land, confident Kasume was ready to capture. But how wrong they were when what came next was an explosion of Kasume's energy as she exerted it from her body.

The light from the energy forced the men to shield their eyes. That's when the big guy in front would find himself with Kasume right in front of him, palms against his torso. Her energy was forcing itself to the surface of her palms. With a ferocious scream behind it, Kasume unleashed the ferociously conjured energy against his opponent forcing him back quite a ways before he was crashed into a rock formation. That was followed with sounds of physical strikes being made. Kasume had herself surrounded by the other three men, all trying to beat down on her. They hadn't banked on her fierce fighting skills, which she was lashing out to fend them off. She landed a brutal headbutt against the chin of one of the attackers by jumping upward suddenly. But she was caught with a kick forcing her backwards. She felt the sharp impact of someone kicking her from above, forcing her to make impact with the ground once more.

Shiiiit.... she thought as she opened her eyes.

Two of the adversaries were above her with their hands aimed at her. Gritting her teeth as she watched their energy start to form, she began contemplating on what to do.

"This will put you down, stranger!"

Kasume felt immobilized for some strange reason. Constricted? Not good at all. This was going to hurt. Her two adversaries unleashed their fury on her in the form of a fierce set of energy blasts that plummeted for her fallen body. Kasume felt fear creeping up on her at this point. In her condition, a connection from these two attacks would put her down for good. But fate must have smiled on her just then. Because the blasts meant to crash against her form met with an invisible barrier cast between them and her. The barrier dispelled the energy easily. Kasume had been saved. But by whom? As if to answer the question as soon as possible, she laid eyes on a figure that appeared just then. He appeared directly in front of her adversaries, smashing one of them with a left hook to the chest and then a spin kick to knock him into his comrade. Then Kasume watched them both hit the ground simultaneously.

She would get ready to speak except now the unknown savior was faced with the vicious wave of ki coming his way from his back side. The unknown man, turning around was struck with the blast head on. Kasume, now on her knees, watched the smoke to see what would happen. But she didn't have to wait long because the man came charging out of the smoke perfectly intact. By now Kasume was on her feet again. Her rescuer had engaged the guy who blasted him and the two of them were exchanging a vicious volley of punches and kicks. That's when she noticed one of the two he had put down getting ready to attack again. By now, Kasume had all she could take of these guys. Getting herself energized again she charged the guy. Before he knew it, her foot was being planted right in his face. Then she went, grabbig his beard and using it to launch him over her head. That was then followed up by a wave of energy being sent into his flying body. She was just recovering from releasing the attack when the guy her rescuer was fighting dropped down next to her, unconscious.

As she looked down at the fallen body, she felt the rush of wind from someone landing behind her. As she turned to him, she found herself surprised to see who it was. Her rescuer was none other than the mysterious Kryo Island Guardian Kento. She looked into his eyes, seeing his slight grin.

"Well, I never expected to have to rescue you," he spoke.

Kasume was speechless at first but then spat at the ground, turning her head away from him.

"I'd have taken all of them out on my own. Didn't need your pitiful rescue attempt," she slandered.

The guardian gave a nod, choosing not to speak in response to her remark. Kasume gave the unconscious man a kick in the head before spitting on his face.

"Lucky...I don't do you in right now, freak," she muttered.

Kento, hearing her, simply shook his head and folded his arms.

"So lady-like.."

Kasume gave him a look and scoffed.

"So what the hell are you doing here anyway?" She asked.

Kento, shaking his head, looked back into the past with his mind.

"When Morgana opened that portal and pushed you in, I tried to intervene. Ended up falling in after you."

He came out of his memory looking directly at the sky.

"When I fell through, I blacked out. Woke up unable to conjure gateways to the spirit world."

Kasume turned an angry expression to Kento.

"So you can't get us out of here either. Useless as always..."

"Well you must have a thing for useless men, because you fell in love with me as I recall."

Kasume was made to remember a night of heated passion under a clear starlit sky on the beach of Kento's island. She'd never tell him it was the best she ever had in a long time. And he surely didn't need his ego fed now so she wasn't about to say anything at this point. Her face red as ever, she turned away from him.

"A girl has her needs too. We simply both were in heat. It was nothing more."

Kento, nodding his head, aimed his hand at her. Kasume noticed this and grabbed his wrist.

"Looking to have this broken off? What are you doing?" She asked.

"Relax and just breathe," Kento responded.

Kasume looked in his eyes, seeing no reason to mistrust him. So she released his arm and focused on relaxing herself and breathing. She felt Kento's warm energy beginning to fill her body. Her fatigue, aches and pains were leaving her at this point. Kento was healing her. She waited for him to finish. Kento stopped flowing his energy to her after a bit and stepped back.

"How do you feel?" He asked.

Kasume looked to him in surprise.

"You can still heal?" Kasume asked.

"Mm..." he went as he nodded.

"All my abilities were sealed off. Seems all I can do is fly and project a power blast," Kasume said.

"Ah, my power has been somewhat reduced. I'm without my ability to perform any of my spirit realm spells. But I've retained everything I learned from Kryo's elders. Seems Morgana's magic effected you more than me."

"But how?"

Kento gave a nod.

"My father's spirit merged with my own during one of my guardian trials. It provides a safeguard giving me some immunity to most spells. So Morgana would have had to execute level 6 or higher magic in order to break through it. But since I can't open spirit realm gateways here..."

"Then this place must have some sort of anti-magic barrier over it."

Kasume didn't like anti-magic areas. A lot of her abilities came from magic. Since she was sealed off from her abilities, a lot of her power was cut off. So now the question was, were they even on Earth? Kento looked at the guy he knocked down. He couldn't sense two of the others. Kasume was looking at the same guy.

"He doesn't look human," Kasume said.

"He isn't. I've seen some of these guys in the spirit realm. Couldrians. We're not even on earth right now. Couldrians live in this limbo like plain between earth and the spirit realm."

So the story was that Kento and Kasume were in some paradox world far from home, with their ability to enter the spirit realm sealed off. This meant they were going to need help from the very natives of this planet if they wanted to get back to the earth realm. And Kasume was going to have to actually cooperate with Kento. The thought of the endeavor to come seemed to make her sick to her stomach. She was going to have to live with it for now. Things were looking like they could get pretty rough.

A dark damp cave once empty became occupied when Kento and Kasume paid a visit. The stoic Kento peeked inside. His eyes were glowing at first but then became normal.

He proceeded inside saying, "No life forms in here. We can take refuge here."

Kasume entered behind him. There was a look of disgust as she entered. Back on earth she stayed in a decently built cabin fit to her liking. Caves weren't her favorite place to be. No room for comfort; they were damp and natural wind tunnels. But seeing as how she was exiled it would have to do. Pampered was not one of the descriptions used when talking about her.

Kento seemed to be right at home. She watched him sit down in a small corner of the cave and instantly assume a sitting position as if he were planning to meditate. She scoffed as she walked toward him, her hands placed upon her hips.

"Well you look comfortable."

Kento took a deep breath, leaving his eyes closed.

"Back at Kyro Island, Mystic Cave was a common place for me to meditate and train. This place seems quite similar. But opposed to that cave, this one lacks complexity."

Kasume gave a nod, still showing disgust as she sat down. Picking up a rock, she chucked it at the wall.

"So, how long do you think we'll be subjected to these dreadful conditions?" She asked.

Kento didn't respond so she ended up looking over to him, only to see that Kento had drifted into a deep mental trance. There was a gentle white aura calmly flaring off of his body. It never ceased to amaze her. Kento could turn a war zone into a meditation place. And thoughts like these were when she wrestled most with her hatred and love for Kento. She had to to cope with the idea that while she sought for the day where she could bring Kento to her knees, there was a hint of lust for him as well. Their one moment of heated passion was embedded in her mind, somehow finding its way out of its dormant state when she wanted to lash at him most.

Guess she'd have to leave him be for now. Besides she had to think about how she was going to get home. Further back into the cave she went. She sat down on the floor in a shadowy corner. Since Kento was doing it, she might as well do the same. She tried to sit down, relax and enter meditation. She and Kento had the ability to lock minds, assuming Kento let her through. The feeling of a sleep-like trance washed over her. And she soon found herself in the world of her own mind. She was upon a cliff with a twilight sky above her. And no sooner had she took notice of this did she feel a second presence. She didn't turn to him. She just closed her eyes and smirked.

"Invading my mind again, Kento? You should know better than to invade a lady's privacy."

As she stated it, Kento was standing there a bit of a focused expression on his face. He also seemed concerned.

"I could sense your frustration from my own mind. Not exactly difficult to invade when you are in that state."

Kasume turned around. She opened her eyes, smirk still present. She then proceeded to walk past Kento on the right side till she reached the edge of the cliff.

"Some lousy enchantress blocks off my ability to use my full powers, sticks me in a foreign realm light years from home. Should I be having a party?" remarked Kasume.

"I guess when you put it that way..." Kento added.

"The only comforting thought right now is the look of pain on her face she'll have when I get them back and face her in the spirit realm."

"Well there seems to be no limitations on us here in our own minds. Let's have a go of it. We didn't get to finish our match because of her."

Was Kento seriously challenging her to a no holds barred spar? She knew he was right. Here in her mind, the only limitations set would be her own imagination. Perhaps she could give him the lashing he deserved. She was game. It would be worth it at this point.

"Alright, Kento, gear up. I'm going to give you that torture I promised."

With that, her arms went out sideways. Her weight shifted back and she allowed herself to fall backwards off the cliff, knowing Kento would give her the chase. And being the man that he was, that was exactly what he did.
