The peace had cast over the quaint and quiet day, setting an unusual calm over the place known as North City. It was a bustling metropolis, filled with countless citizens going about their daily lives. In recent years the population had boomed to challenge the millions that populated Orange City. While there was no actual competition between population, this had quickly been giving North City potential to become the capital in place of Orange City. However, they always did say there was a calm before the storm came to reign down terror and renew sorrow.

In the sky, a bright celestial object could been seen, rapidly hurling towards the fertile ground that laid beneath the streets. It’s crimson glow was near blinding when looked at directly, nearly rivaling the intensity of the rays of the sun. Yet as the civilians stopped in the streets to observe, they came to the stunning realization that this was more than just some bright light and descending and what looked to be a meteorite heading straight for them. Terror and panic instantly overtook the people and they began to flee hopelessly every which way. There was no use however, for before many could get away, the burning object made impact.

A grand explosion shook the vicinity where the object landed, sending shockwaves crashing throughout the city. Building’s collapsed like dominos after the those directly in the line of fire were torn asunder. Bodies were strewed about the streets, limbs and blood rended from torso, chaos cast all about. A mighty mushroom cloud rose into the sky as the sound of sirens penetrated the air, finally destroying the last shreds of peace that had once been about this city. The authorities were on the scene like lightning, rescue teams looking for the living amongst the dead, the police securing a perimeter. They were dressed clad in radiation suits.

The initial assumption was that a nuke had been set off by the infamous Red Ribbon Army which had been destroyed decades ago. The notion that they had finally come, seeking vengeance for their downfall at the hands of a child and wanting once more to dominate. After the smog began to dissipate and the dust of incinerated bodies and collapsed building settled, a size of the crater finally came to light.

Even the military had responded, just arriving on the scene to glimpse what was a complete oddity to them. In the middle of the crater was a metallic orb with a red glass window and a door. The pod was beaten and battered, chunks of metal missing here and there and the glass cracked so the one inside could not be seen. At first there was a sense of shock and awe that set over the human’s, however they soon came to slide down towards the pod as curiosity took over. The radiation scans had shown no levels and so those armed and in uniform were the ones to approach. When they neared the door however, they were met with instant fear.

The sound of air escaping as the mechanisms squealed, the door cracking open at the seems. The machine limped, the door struggling, barely able to open. Finally it lost what little strength it had left, the hinges breaking and the door collapsing to the ground with a loud thud. On the backside of the door revealed copious amounts of blood. Looking up, what looked like a man with spiky, black hair, broken armor, and cuts and burns covering his body laid broken. They could see though, just barely but surely, life lingered inside of him, even if that life was quickly slipping away. Without hesitation, military officers called a med-evac, seizing him and taking him away to a secure location for treatment…and detainment.

The pale light of the moon cast it’s way through the thick bars of the prison cell. Grey, dull colors marked the inside along with an unmistakable smell of the bile of the living and the rot of the dead. Green grim slithered it’s way down from the walls, slipping between the cracks and resting on the ground. Critters of all sorts, insect and vermin made their way across the floors of this hollow place that looked so ancient and yet like any other old prison. The bars were made of thick iron, blackened by the process in which they were smelt and the floors to ceiling made of thick, square stones bonded with cement.

To the right of the small cell laid a toilet that had been poorly up kept and a shabby, broken sink. To the left of the room was the bed which was at an angle to the barred window above. The light of the half moon that had been casting it’s lunar light caught into the eyes of the shirtless man. Medium length, black hair in dreads laid down just past the man’s shoulders. Scars littered his torso, probably old battle wounds from a time long past. Despite this, his body was ripped and would be in top condition if it weren't for the countless stitches that covered his body. The wounds from when he had been founded had yet to heal and bandages abound around his abdomen. On his legs were his gi pants, tied down to his black boots of alien make. Slowly the light caused his eyes to twitch, bringing them from the land of sleep to the reality that laid before him. What had happened?

Tattered memories, fragments of the full blinked through his mind but all they did was confuse him. A face here, a home there, and the countless stars in the Milky Way, but never a clear picture or memory. It caused his right hand to raise to grab his forehead as he slowly sat up. To his surprise, he felt extremely weak. Upon his wrists as his eyes adjusted to the dim light of the cell was that of a pair of bracers upon his arms. They were white in color and he could feel them emitting a strange energy all around his body. The bracers were light and yet felt so heavy at the same time.

How long had he been out for? What was the truth behind what had happened to him and why he was here now, alone in this cell? The only complete memory flashed back into his mind. All he could remember was the near unbearable crawl to his space pod, the sea of blood seeping from his wounds, and then blasting off into the sky. At a point, an explosion rocked the pod yet it still managed to fly up into the stratosphere and eventually break through the atmosphere and into space. The rest were fading blurs until the view of the red and green gem of the galaxy came into view. The next thing he knew, he had crash landed in some city, barely clinging to life, taken by someone and then nothing.

“What in the hell happened to me…?”
The man said to himself, unable to identify what had occurred. Nothing was clear in his mind. His voice was soft and yet distressed. “My head is killing me…I feel so weak,” He spoke aloud to the dim lit cell before him.

“That would be the effects of the restraining devices on your arms alien,” A voice from the shadows echoed out. It was deep and with authority. The man with the dreads instantly turned his eyes to behold a guard in full uniform. He wore some strange cameo with a helmet and some kind of vest. He looked to be armed with some inferior kind of gun. “I don’t know why you’re here alien nor why we decided to take care of your wounds instead of just dissecting you, but just be grateful that you aren’t in a morgue right now. I’m sure they will get rid of you eventually however. We aren't in the habit of keeping your kind alive for too long,” The guard said with in a serious tone.

Memories, distant flashed through his mind. His hand was outstretched, surrounded by unfamiliar faces doing the same. All together at once they let forth a radical light from their fingertips and instantly the light enveloped the area, destroying everything in it’s path. As the destruction came into clear view, the bodies in pieces could be seen all about. A scream escaped from his mouth as both hands gripped his head, pulling down through his hair. The guard looked alarmed at first, but realized that their was no physical harm that had come to the ‘specimen’. From the man’s brow sweat dripped like a river. His breathing had become heavy and loud, showing just how violent the memory had been.

“I…can’t remember anything…except death. Who am I…and where am I…?” The alien questioned out, unable to ascertain an answer. The guard only responded with a laugh, almost to mock his pain. He wanted to tear the man’s head off, but what could he do. The moment he tried to stand, it felt like all his energy was sapped from his body and he nearly collapsed to the floor.

“Can’t remember who you are? What a shame, creature. I know what you are however, but that’s something I think I’ll keep to myself,” A voice rounded the corner outside said. The guard instantly went to salute the approaching figure who was apparently of higher rank.

As he came into the light, the image became rather clear. It was a scientist of sorts, dressed in a lab coat with a long, white mustache and a bald head. The shine from his glasses hid his eyes and he was caucasian. The man lifted a gloved hand to adjust his glasses before placing his glare back to the Saiyan in the cell. He seemed set on observing each and every feature of the foreign warrior, though it looked as though he already knew a great deal about his species.

“My name is Professor Cremin, your name however is unimportant. Even if you remember it, in time it will fade away into the black. From now on, you will be called Experiment Twenty-Four or just Twenty-Four,”
He cleared his throat. There was nothing about this man that showed any care or emotion.

“Experiment…?” The words were spoken slowly. The realization washed over him quickly however. “I’m…no experiment for you…to toy with!” The alien yelled, forcing himself back to his feet. Again the energy from him was sapped by the gauntlets and he collapsed forward, nearly face planting the bars. Luckily he caught himself just to star Cremin eye to eye.

“Soldier, shock the monkey,” Cremin commanded casually. He smiled, almost friendly to Twenty-Four. Without warning, the soldier pulled a level and the bars became electrified, instantly shocking the Saiyan and sending him onto his back as his body convulsed. “You’ll come to be tame in time, I can guarantee that ,” The scientist’s voice became more foreboing. “Solider, radio for a few other men. I want you to subdue this monkey and take him to the lab,” Cremin stated, a devious smirk rising on his face.

The Saiyan tried to rise back to his feet, but the bracers along with the shock had rendered him nearly unconscious. He could do nothing but fade in and out as he heard the sound of footsteps come from the distance, then figures above him lifting him into the air. Further restraints covered his body and soon he blacked out.
