Chapter 1: Darkness in the Sky Sitting in peaceful meditation, his blade rested softly by his side. The frog sat, eyes closed as his throat moved in harmony back and forth, his nostrils having a hard time sucking in the air of the planet. So his throat continued to puff out and in, forcing air into his lungs in such a deep meditation. Suddenly, a cold chill passed through his body. His eyes shot open, scanning the landscape. When suddenly there was a flash of fire in the air, the frog panicked (for all Frogs of Planet Marsh had a natural fear of fire, coming from such a wet planet, the threat of fire was non-existant.) and hopped into the stream that rested nearby. Clutching the blade tightly as the fire continued to streak, and then suddenly stopped. His throat puffing in and out at a remarkable speed, the toad clutched the blade tighter as he hopped from the water, scanning the area in a 360 degree angle. But then suddenly the ground nearby exploded, the frog shrieked and hid behind a tree (one of the few nearby). But after a few minutes, he peeked from the tree and observed the wreckage a few hundred feet away. A low clacking sound came from it, straining to hone in on it. The frog slowly hopped closer, ever wary of the fire. But as it died down, the frog braved himself to get nearer and nearer. He was a green Knight of the Frog, and yet he felt weak. Scared of a little fire, pah! The Grandmaster's meditated in fire... Finally nearing the wreckage, he tapped the metal ship with the hilt of his blade. There was a low clacking again, followed by a low buzzing sound. The frog croaked out in a deep voice mixed with a hint of fear "Who is there? Why have thy crashed onto this planet?" The clacking continued, getting louder and louder until suddenly there was a whoosh of air and a door appeared in the metallic hull. A limping figure emerged from it, the frog holding the Toad Blade up into the air towards him, his throat puffing in and out faster than it ever had before. Fear gripped his heart, and yet he knew that no matter what. He could not show his fear, that was not in the code. He must show bravery in every situation of his life. Gripping the blade tighter, he called out in a voice oozing bravery and courage "You have not stated thy purpose on this planet! State it or leave foul fiend!" Suddenly the figure looked up, buggish in appearance. With long spindly legs and nashing mouth parts. The frog licked his lips, the alien actually looked tasty. But the time to eat was later, for now the time to fight would be at hand. Or would it? He was still unsure of the alien's purpose. Who was now staring at him with a fixed glare. Clacking and clicking, the bug like alien reached up one of his tasty spindly arms and played with something around his neck until he lowered his hand. Then the bug spoke in an evil menacing sounding voice, sending shivers down the frog's spine. "I am Gorblax, from the planet Arlia. I have come to this planet to seek havok and destruction. Strange alien, do you stand against me?" The frog stared at him, his eyes opened wide as his throat puffed. He held the blade aloft, now pointed at the bug's fragile throat and said, "Foul villian! I will destroy thee and send you back to the underworld from whence you came!" He leaped up into the air, attempting to cleave the bug in half. But suddenly there was a whoosh of air and the frog was flying back, the bug. Clutching a high powered air gun, croaked with laughter and hopped into a space pod like thing, flying into the distance. The frog layed against a pile of rocks and rubble, dazed as stars flashed above his head. It took several minutes for him to regain full conciousness. Standing up, he sheathed the blade, no longer needing it currently. The bug was powerful, that was certain. But his motives were evil and the frog knew that he would not stop until he had ended the bug's cruel life. He flew up into the air, using his hand as a sun-block to look around the area. Chapter 2: I MUST defeat you! The frog continued to look around, the constant sunlight making it hard to gaze across the land, but suddenly to his left there was a powerful explosion. His cape billowing he dashed off as fast as he could towards the explosion. Feeling an urge to go to battle, for it would be his first real battle as a Knight of the Frog. He could not lose his first, clutching the blade tightly. He neared the spot of the explosion, touching down on the ground, he croaked with fright and pity. Native bodies of the aliens that lived on the planet were scattered across the area, the village in which they were living completely destroyed. Tears sprang to his eyes, never having experienced death before, it was a new sensation to him. He sought to kill his foe, and yet. Death was a scary thing, his grip on the blade loosened, would he truly be able to do it when the time came? He had little time to think of it, he knew that no matter what. He had to find and kill the bug, putting the image as far back in his mind as he could. Looking around him, the frog scanned the area for the bug, finding no trace of him. When suddenly the voice of the Elder rang in his mind, "Young Furoggu. This is your first test as a warrior, do not lose track of your purpose. Death is a sad thing, but remember one must go through hell to get to heaven. Always remember that I am right here with you, watching you always. No find your enemy and smite him!" The words of the Elder calmed and soothed his nerves. He nodded, his throat puffing furiously. He hopped quickly and with a purpose, using his senses of smell. The bug smelled tasty, so he merely had to follow his nose. With each hop, his body became more and more anticipated to finding his opponent, shifting into his next Form. When a Knight of the Frog fights or is nearing a fight with his first opponent, he unlocks a special defense mechanism within himself. Like a transformation, his body bulks and becomes more mature and more refined. Taking this appearance, the Frog looked down at himself, becoming more mature his body had peaked to it's limits. With his voice more deep and croaky, he drew his blade as he hopped, calling out. "My name is Furrogu Salamanderson Octavius the VI! I shalt not lose to you foul villain!" Seeing the body in the distance, he hopped high into the air, striking down at the ground with his sword of holy vengeance. [460] Total: 1,198 |

Chapter 3: The End of the First As the blade soared near the bug, suddenly there was a whoosh of air, and the frog was flying through the air again. The bug was craftier than he had suspected. Using his spindly arms, he had crafted several more high velocity air guns, turning his body in weird angles and firing at the Frog. Using his sword, he slammed it into the ground, creating traction and slowing down until he stopped. His body rippled with power as his aura suddenly exploded around himself. He vanished into thin air, his new speed being put to good use. He appeared in front of the bug, attempting to strike down and end him as quickly as he could. But the bug was unusally fast, he managed to dodge the attack, but the frog followed up with a diagional slash, then following up with a lunge stab. But the bug managed to keep up with him, that's when he noticed the beeping device upon the bug's chest. With his new mental status, he placed two and two together. The beeping device was some sort of device that allowed the bug to dodge every movement the frog was making, whatever this Arlian creature was, he was smart and skilled. The Frog continued to slash and lunge, dodging and weaving between the bugs arms, trying to avoid another air blast. They hurt a lot more than he wanted to admit, even within his current form. As he attempted an overhead slash however, the bug grabbed the blade, tossing it aside. Furoggu immediately switched to a Flying Fists of the Toad stance, his training had taught him to always be ready for any combat situation. Slowly the frog narrowed the gap in between him and the bug, when he got in close he threw powerful strikes, one after the other at his opponent. Using knees and elbows, the powerful blows smacked into the soft body of the bug. However, the gap slowly opened back up, and in his struggled to paralyze the bug with his blows, the air gun in one of the bug's hands managed to get a lock on him. Firing at him, knocking him flying again, but he managed to slow himself. Now he would have to close the gap again, but he found the sword laying nearby, he rolled to the side and picked it up. He held it over his shoulder, aiming at the device that made the bug so powerful, tossing it as fast and as powerfully as he could. The blade whooshed through the air, slamming into the bug. But not where he wanted too, it smacked into the bug's shoulder. Letting out a clacking shriek, the bug ripped the blade from his body, tossing it as far as he could, the Frog began to roll towards him, going to the left and the right, the bug firing air blast after air blast, causing small craters into the ground. The Frog leaped into the air, attempting an axle kick down at the bug's head, but it missed. The bug grabbed upon the Frog's head and tossed him to the side. As the Frog hit the ground, he rolled to the side. Laying there and panting for a few seconds, his throat puffing and panting. He grabbed a clump of dust, tossing it at the bug, but he dodged it easily. The Frog continued to pant, he was losing this fight. But suddenly there was another hiss, and the words of the Elder poured into his head, "You are doing well my boy, do not give up. Destroy the machine, it will make him weak. You can defeat him, you must defeat him!" The Frog nodded and got up, dashing at the bug. He rolled under his air cannon blasts and got up close. Latching onto the device he began to pound upon it. Desperately trying to destroy it and make the bug weak. Slamming his palm into it. The device sparked and the frog jumped back out of the way, the device sparked and flared until it exploded against the bugs chest, causing him to fly back and hit the ground on his back. Within seconds the Frog was standing over him, looking at the bug he said to him. "You were doomed from the start of this battle. I am a Knight of the Frog, I am the epiphany of all that is good and just. You lost this battle from the beginning." The Frog pressed his hands against his head and yelled "Solar Flare!" there was a bright flash and the bug screeched and cried. The Frog having lost all of his energy, lost his transformation. His body was weak and tired. His sword glinted in the sunlight, while the bug writhed. He walked over to the sword and picked it up. Clutching it in hand, he stood over the bug, raising it above his head. As he prepared to strike down, he hesitated. His hands began to shake. He held the sword down, muttering to himself, "No... I won't kill... I won't end a life..." He sheathed the sword and looked down at the alien, saying to him. "If I ever see you again, I will defeat you again, and then again and then again. So I don't want to see you... Ever..." He started to walk away, the voice of the Elder began to whisper to him, "You have done well young one, you have indeed proved yourself as a Knight of the Frog. But this is only the first lesson, you have learned the lesson of Mercy. But you have one more feat to accomplish before you can advance. Always remember what you were taught. The lesson of Mercy, it is a great lesson to have. Good day my son, rest now and get some hard earned relaxation." The Frog smiled as the Elder vanished, he had indeed learned much. He vowed, never to end a life. He would always show mercy and forgiveness. Slowly he walked back to his hovel, awaiting the next time that he would learn a new lesson. The life of a warrior, one of righteousness and chivalry. He knew that the entire time had been a test, a test of his limits. The Elder knew that he would not end a life, he did not believe in death of creatures un-deserving. No matter how evil or wicked or vile they may be. He looked at his hands, his throat puffing softly. They were powerful, they could end life with a single blow. But would they? Would he use his power to obtain what he wanted? Or would he stay true to his methods of peace and prosperity? It was not a difficult decision. And yet... He wondered how easy it was to stray from the path, life was precious, the bug had been weak and frail. His Solar Flare hadn't even been at full power and yet it had caused significant damage. True there were always more powerful opponents out there, but for the ones under him, he would have to be careful. He pulled his blade from his sheath, trying to think when the idea hit him. Covering it with a thin layer of ki, he pressed it against himself, attempting to slice his arm. But it didn't. So his plan had worked, dulling his blade so that it would not kill while still being able to use it for battling, for what was a knight without his blade? Nothing that's what he was. Sheathing the blade, the Frog now stood on a mountain, his walk taking him many miles, his deep thoughts charging his body. As he stared off into the distance, he swore to always protect those who needed him. He would do whatever it took to preserve the path of good. [1,322] Total: 2,520 |
