"Do it!" "Oh, thats gross!" "Hah, slam his face in it!" Raucous yelps of the so-called elites of the Saiyan race sounded out from outside of the cabin. The three brawny cadets-in-training were chanting out various sayings, all egging on one person to do something incredibly disgusting: Licking clean the right boot of the senior cadet, whom had overgone a rather rigorous training session earlier that day. In a rather unkept field. In the rain. Coated in mud, sweat, grime, and other things found in nature, it truly was a horrific sight. And the most junior trainee in the cabin was forced to clean it.. With his mouth, of all things. This new trainee happened to be Raditz, the son of Bardock and brother of Kakarot, a low-class fighter with little to no skill compared to the other, more senior, cadets and warriors. They forced him to do crazy things just so he was allowed to watch them train. He was supposed to do all of their chores, work they didn't care to do, and still have time to train and sleep enough to be conscious the next day. On more than one occassion he went without sleep for three or four days, and finally collapsed of exhaustion and sleep deprivation on the fourth or fifth. Normally, Raditz received no more than four hours of sleep any day of the week. On this recent torture session of his, Raditz' face was slammed into the boot, mouth wide open and tongue extended. His face bled from the impact, mainly from him biting his tongue. Blood poured from his mouth as his face was wiped across the surface of the boot. The cadets laughed heartily, enjoying the cruel punishment that was given to the junior. The senior boy, Beta, grinned and dropped the Raditz' head, allowing him some freedom for a few short seconds before his face connected with the ground. His nose cracked slightly and bled slightly. This.. will never end.. Where is the point of all of.. this.. this bullshit? The senior looked at him and shook his head. He looked back at the other boys and started to walk off. The others followed him, one of them kicking Raditz while he was on the ground, right in the gut. He gasped in pain and curled up to protect himself from any further assaults. Luckily for him, there were none. "Hey, Radish!" The cadets cackled at the joke. All saiyans of course were named like vegetables, and they sometimes teased each other with them. "Make sure it's spotless before I get back.. Or else.." Him, along with all of the other cadets, just laughed and didn't bother to finish the threat. They just walked off, probably to terrorize some other lower-class trainees or to train a bit. Raditz knew well enough what they could do to him and get away with. He gulped and his body shook with unease and exhaustion as he struggled to raise his form to a sitting position. He panted and wiped sweat from his brow, and then mentally slapped himself in the face. He was a saiyan! There should be no reason why he had to do such menial things, that slaves were sometimes forced to do. He took the boot and walked inside. Raditz grinned wickedly as a sudden thought came to mind. Oh, he had a plan to take "care" of his comrades. He would do whatever it took.. An unspoken rule of the academy was that if you could beat your senior ranking cadet, you would become the new senior.. And then everyone in the cabin would do whatever you asked, being the strongest. Raditz aspired to many great things, and this was just a beginning. If he could achieve that rank, his training would take up more of his time, and he would graduate much, much faster. A little side effect came out of it as well.. He could terrorize the others instead of the opposite. He sat down at the table inside and began to think of a devious plot... Late in the evening after the event, the rough yells of the cadets filled the air in and outside of the cabin. Their boots flooded the floors with mud and various grime and squeaked mercilessly as they entered. Raditz was sitting at the kitchen table, leaning back on the chair on two legs. He glared at them as they ran by without giving him a second look, eager to hit the showers after their day at camp. Beta walked in last.. Walked. He was very calm until he looked at Raditz and the perfectly clean boot sitting on the table. The cadet laughed and picked it up, looking around the outside of it for any spot of grime. He grunted, apparently surprised it was clean, and tossed off his workout shoes to put the boot on... And then Raditz' mood lit up like the Fourth of July. The mere facial expression shown on the senior cadet's face made him nearly want to cry laughing so hard, but he stifled it. In seething anger the cadet slowly craned his head around to look straight into the eyes of the foolhardy greenhorn soldier. In a flash, his fists flew across the table and connected with Raditz' jaw, forcing his entire body to soar backwards and smash into the wall. Cracks exploded into the wall of the cabin as the weight of Raditz' body was forced upon it. Raditz coughed and teased the senior slightly. "What.. heh.. happened, Beta? I thought you.. only wanted the outside clean... heh.." Beta's anger only soared and his entire body moved towards Raditz. With one hand he scooped up Raditz by the neck and held him up in the air in a chokehold. Raditz coughed blood at Beta and merely smiled. The senior cadet tossed the body of the most junior cadet out of the cabin through a window with relative ease and all of his might. Some shards of glass imbedded themselves into Raditz' body, but mostly hit the ground around his landing area. Blood slowly appeared from the seemingly minor wounds of the weaker warrior's body. Beta flew towards Raditz and stopped only two meters from the crumpled form. "Raditz.. You think this is fucking funny? I will kill you! Damn you to HELL!" Raditz grimaced finally as he realised his plan could backfire worse than he thought.. Ah, well.. At least it's- Before he could finish the short thought, Beta was on the attack once more. In a flurry of anger, his fists and feet connected with Raditz' now airborne body. Raditz took the beating well for being so underpowered, and swung around Beta's body as one punch came a bit too slow. It was a mistake. Beta countered the counter with a knee to the gut of Raditz, and that paralyzed him for a precious few moments. He grabbed the tail of the saiyan, immobilizing him and cribbling what little power the junior had. "You are lucky I am merciful. If you grovel before me, I will not kill you." He turned his head to face the ignorant junior soldier. Raditz glared at Beta and spat blood in his roughed-up face and grinned a bloody smile. "Go to Hell, Beta!" Beta gritted his teeth in rage and gathered his strength for a finisher. "Wrong move." Raditz was tossed - by his tail of all things - into the cabin with all of Beta's summoned might. By now, the other trainees had noticed the sounds of battle and had raced outside, past the wreckings of the kitchen, and to the scene of the onslaught. They looked at it in awe of Beta, fearing and respecting the might of the warrior. Once more, Beta descended towards Raditz. "Would you like me to finish it?" Raditz could not give an answer, blood now pouring from his wounds. The severity of the injuries and blood loss knocked him unconscious. Beta sighed and dropped onto the ground. He raised his foot and kicked the motionless body of Raditz in the head. Still, no response. He rolled his eyes at the weakling and walked into the cabin, yelling at the other cadets. "Clean that shit up!" The other cadets scrambled to take Raditz, not wanting his death on their hands, to the nearest hospital. Luckily for Raditz, it was only a short distance aways... "Revenge is mine! Ahahaha!" The glowing saiyan laughed maniacally as hundreds laid fallen before him. "I have become what only one other has achieved!" A glowing yellow aura bursted from his body rapidly, and his hair glew yellow. "I AM A SUPER SAIYAN!" With proud, the warrior released a giant ball of energy, the size of a one-story house, onto the civilization. Immediately, the entire face of the town was incinerated into nothing but ash. He smiled. Ah, revenge is bliss. He surveyed his black surroundings. The vision flickered for a moment, and Raditz felt his world was coming down upon him. Beep. What the hell was that? He looked around and saw nothing. His anger flared and energy shot out from his body, blowing a hole into the ground. Beep, beep. "What the bloody hell is that NOISE?" He looked left and right, and then up. A flash of white light appeared from above, and his vision flickered, for a longer period of time than last. It seared into a blinding white colour... Raditz blinked, and then some more as the light was shone into his eyes. He rose his head and looked next to him, the heart moniter was making a steady Beep, beep, beep, beep. His heart felt heavy. Of course.. I was dreaming... He fell back onto the bed he was laying in in dismay. I could never become a Super Saiyan.. He yawned and looked to the other side to see a rather attractive nurse standing by his side. "What.. am I doing here?" Raditz assumed he had to be in a hospital.. After the beating he took, his memory was quite foggy of the past day's events. The nurse smiled and pushed gently on Raditz' chest to get him to relax on the bed. "You were beaten to a bloody pulp by your cabin-mate. You're lucky your other mates flew you here, or you'd be dead right about now." Raditz looked at himself and his eyes widened. He was wrapped in bandages practically everwhere on his body except his eyes and his mouth. He grunted as the severe pain arose again after the painkillers wore off. At least I survived.. Part one is complete.. This should help my plan reach its fruition. The nurse pressed a button on a small clicker twice, and Raditz felt a woozy feeling coming over him. He sluggily turned his head to her and attempted to ask, "What did you do to me?". However, it more sounded like: "Wha di yo.." She pressed the button once more, and Raditz fell asleep under the comfort of painlessness... Several hours later... Raditz awoke after the first long sleep he had gotten in a year or two and raised his arms to stretch. A sharp needle of pain shot through his body and he gritted his teeth to prevent himself from yelling and lowered them. Despite the fact he was in pain, he knew he would be fine. In fact, he felt much better then he had even before he signed up to the academy. Raditz smiled against the pain. Oh, he was sure phase two had worked. His plan of epic proportions was indeed a risky one, but the risk was over. Saiyans gained great power as they came back from the brink of death.. Every saiyan fighter knew that. You were dictated by another unspoken law to live in battle at whatever the cost, so you could return at a much higher power. However, complete healing was hard to come by, and fighters that won't completely kill a saiyan were even harder. Luckily, in his rage, Beta had forgotten this fact when he was beating on Raditz. Now, that would come back to haunt him. Raditz laughed and struggled to sit up in the hospital bed. He surveyed his surroundings. It was a typical hospital room: the bed he was laying on, a few chairs for any guests, and expensive hospital equipment. He clenched his fist to test his new strength. It didn't seem much different; however, he was not fully healed yet. He resigned himself to relax in the bed again, enjoying the next few hours of recuperation... The next day. The nurse popped her head into the room to check on her patient, and wasn't at all surprised to see him doing push ups. He looked at her but did not stop. He had to be in top physical shape for what he planned, and even his increase of power could possibly not be enough. Raditz had been performing various exercises all that morning. He couldn't afford to just sit in a bed and rest any longer. The nurse smiled and walked away, probably to tend to her more dire patients. Raditz' exercises continued for another hour, and then he decided to rest for a few more hours to recover from the strain he put on his body and a few more injuries of the battle on the day previous. He wanted to be as strong as he could possibly be for his match, but if he was too fatigued, then it would all be for naught. It was noon before Raditz finally checked himself out of the hospital. He walked back to his cabin on his own, it only being two miles away. He was conserving what energy he had for later that day, so he did not fly back. His cabin-mates were surprised to see him back after the sound beating he had taken, having thought the injuries were worse than they were. Raditz looked at all of them and did not spy Beta. "Where is Beta?" They all laughed. This little runt wanted another beating! One of them thought, They must be desperate for fighters if they allow people as dumb as him to train here. Raditz glared at them and yelled as loud as he could. "For the last damn time! Where the Hell is Beta?!" They stopped laughing for a moment. One of them pointed upwards and Raditz nodded. He walked to the stairs and up them, to the upper-level rooms. There, Beta was sitting in a chair messing with his scouter. He looked up and grinned as he saw Raditz walk towards him. He cracked his knuckles and then his neck and his back. Raditz looked at him with determination in his eyes. "Beta. I challenge you for the seniority of the cabin. I'm tired of all of this shit I have taken the past year or so. It's time you learned what I have felt for so long." Beta laughed and walked up right in front of him. "Because I am slightly more than a little amused, I won't annihilate you here and now. Meet me at the practice arena at noon tomorrow." Raditz smiled and nodded. "Fine with me." Good.. I have more time to recover.. He walked towards his room and planned what he would do tomorrow. Strategy was key, a pure show of brawn would never beat an elite. Raditz laid down in his bed and thought about the next day... Word Count: 1,183 (+1405) = 2,588 / 2,500 Quest is finished in the next post. |

Raditz woke up early the next morning. He exercised for two hours before readying for his match with Beta later. He decided he may as well bring the Saiyan armour he was given from the academy.. It could block a few major blows. He slipped it on over his tight, blue fighting suit and put on his gloves and boots, and checked himself over. He looked perfectly fit for any battle at the moment, and he grinned. He looked back at his hair and realised something. Even though he had grown to love the long length of his hair, it was merely an annoyance in battle. Raditz walked to the kitchen, retrieved a knife, and walked back to his room. He pulled the knife to his hair, just behind his neck, and closed his eyes tightly. He sliced backwards, cutting off most of his excess hair. Now he had long hair compared to most, but not the yards that he had before. This would make do for him, even though he was sad to part with his signature trait. He deposited the giant mound of hair into the trash before leaving the house. The other cabin members spit out the drinks that were in their mouths as they saw the battle-ready Raditz with much shorter hair walk past them as he left. Raditz grinned and slammed the door shut, and began his trek towards the stadium. No doubt Beta was already there, just waiting for him to arrive... Once Raditz stepped in the stadium, he immediately was disheartened. He had not fought with his cabin-mates before, but he had sparred with some other junior trainees from other cabins, and generally, he had been one of the best of the group. Now, here he was, fighting one of the most elite academy members. It was going to be very difficult, even with his latest increase of power from the near-death experience he had. He mustered up whatever confidence he could and stepped into the middle arena. Across from him, also standing on the white square-like structure that was the arena, was Beta. He too was in his finest battle suit and armour, though his was much better than Raditz'. I'll have to be able to get around that.. Hm.. I'll try to not aim for his torso, then. Raditz brushed some dirt that had been collected on the trip over from his armour and glared at Beta. "Whoever gets knocked out loses?" Beta laughed. He wanted this to be a deathmatch, but this could be just as fun. Besides, when Raditz was knocked out.. There was nothing to halt him from snapping his neck in half. "Whatever you want, Radish. Come at me with all you have." Raditz smiled and jumped towards him with a leg extended towards Beta's face. Beta disappeared from Raditz' sight with blinding speed and smashed his elbow into his opponent's back, forcing him to slam into the ground. Raditz rolled on the ground and stood up, regaining his composure quickly. He assumed a fighting stance and beckoned Beta. The senior grinned and flashed across the field to above and behind Raditz. He turned to see Beta forming a large ball of energy with his palms. Raditz was amazed. He couldn't form larger ki attacks than just standard blasts of ki.. At least, before he couldn't. He wanted to try, but his secret would have to wait until later, when Beta lowered his guard. Beta yelled loudly and released the ball of energy. Raditz jumped to the side to dodge the main attack, but the force of the attack's impact of the ground still battered him. He flipped himself upward and jumped towards Beta once more. Beta deflected a flurry of fists with his arms and kicked Raditz, who swung around the leg and slammed his shoulder into Beta's face. The senior warrior was taken aback by the fluidity of the attack. Something wasn't right. This battle was not a cakewalk as his calculations had predicted. Something changed, but he couldn't put his finger on it. As the warrior descended from the force of the attack, Raditz followed through with a few small ki blasts which were easily deflected. Raditz speedily descended unto the ground and awaited Beta's next move. Beta grinned and formed another large energy ball. His vision blocked by the energy ball, he couldn't see what Raditz was preparing in retaliation: his own attack. Raditz gritted his teeth and yelled loudly. His saiyan blood pumped through his veins and his power surged into the palm of his outstretched hands, forming a concentrated ball of ki. He grinned and just as Beta launched his attack, he fired his own powerful beam at it. The two attacks were not equal in strength, however, the duration of the beam held off the energy ball's power long enough for it to explode, and not on Raditz. He skidded backwards from the force of the giant blast, as did Beta. He finally had figured out what had gone wrong. He realised Raditz's plan to become much stronger from the near-death experience, and he mentally slapped himself in the face. Beta wondered how he could have been so ignorant of the facts before. Raditz did not relent though, and as he saw Beta's expression he knew his advantage would soon be over. He took advantage of the confusion to speed towards Beta at blinding speeds and throw one well-aimed punch. However, Beta was not an amateur. He set aside the distraction only a moment before it appeared, because he needed complete focus on the battle. He blocked the punch with one arm and launched a small blast of ki at Raditz's face, only feet away. In retaliation, Raditz ducked and spun his legs up in the air, one smacked Beta in the bottom jaw and the other hitting away the attacking hand. Beta was launched upwards and Raditz sprang upwards from the ground using his hands, spun in the air, and raised his shoulder towards the slow-moving opponent. Beta was so surprised by the fact Raditz could beat him that the shoulder slammed right into his saiyan armour and cracked it, his defenses lowered greatly. Raditz grinned and slammed his hand into that same crack, right where Beta's armour was weak. Beta's eyes widened and flailed at Raditz to get his arm to move, but it was to no avail. The highest energy Raditz could muster surged to his hand and shot forth from it, blasting through the last remnants of the small section of the cracked armour and searing a small hole right through his body. Beta coughed up blood and fell to the ground, practically powerless with the fatality of the wound Raditz had given him. Raditz showed no mercy for his senior and merely stood there watching the body turn lifeless after a few short spasms and a steady flow of blood from the wound. He sighed as the end finally came to Beta's life in this world. No doubt, Beta was in the spirit world looking up at him in anger.. He would go to Hell, he was sure. Raditz looked down and for the first time noticed the damage that had been inflicted on his armour. It was practically unusable, though it had taken a few major hits like he had predicted earlier. He was grateful for the fact, and took off the armor. A few minor scrapes and scratches were all over his body, but all of his wounds had already sealed in the blood of his body. He walked out of the arena victorious, though for some reason, he didn't feel as proud as he would knowing he had slain the man who had tortured him for the past year and a half. Once he had returned to the cabin, he glared at the cabin members. They all had thought Beta would easily wipe the floor with this newbie, and for some odd reason, one of them had his scouter on. He decided to check if anything was odd about Beta, and once the scouter resounded his usualy beep, his eyes widened. His power level had significantly rose above what Beta was last recorded as. He informed the others and they immediately lowered their heads in respect to Raditz' strength. He was now greater than all of his cabin, and now he could train with the elites that were around his new power level... He smiled, knowing his training had only just begun...
