Chapter 1 Lending a Helping Hand ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In a back alley of one of the larger cities Callum stood his ground in front of the known thief before him. From time to time during his travels he would help out the locals with what ever problems they might be having at the time. It was the least he could do during his travels and these little assignments as he would call them were excellent in honing his combat skills further. This time he was helping the local police with a thief in the area, or rather a thief passing through the area. From what he was told, which was little in the first place, was that the object in the thief's possession had to be retrieved at all costs. Catching the thief was only a secondary objective though Callum planned to achieve both. Spoiler: click to toggle Which lead up to this moment, his confrontation with the thief himself. Looking at him he looked more like a kid then a thief. Likely only fourteen or so, dressed in a red vest and black bottoms. With short black hair to match his piercing black eyes he carried a small package that Callum could only assume was what he needed to retake. All in all this wasn't really a fight he was interested in being involved in. Advancing on the kid he could tell that he was in a small way frightened, but wasn't backing down either. Clearing his voice Callum raised his hand palm out as if he were about to accept something. "I'd hand over that package and turn yourself in if I were you. Neither of us want this to go any further then it already has." he stated hoping he could talk the kid down. Though the kid didn't respond his actions did as he pulled out a small katana. So this was going to end in a fight after all. He wasn't looking forward to it but if the kid insisted on this he would have to defend himself. Keeping his eye on him he almost didn't see the kids fast movements. In a fraction of a second the kid had already covered more then half the distance between them and wasn't slowing down in the least. With the same speed that the kid possessed Callum brought one of his own swords out just in time to block the blow to his chest. He wasn't surprised to find not much force behind the blow. The kid was good, speed but no power. The two blades lingered for a moment longer till they parted as the kid jumped back. So the kid knows how to fight he thought. In the end though that wouldn't matter. The difference in power and experience would win him this. "This is your last chance kid, give up before you get hurt." Callum restated. At this point he didn't really think he could talk him down but it wasn't like him to not keep trying. Keeping his sword at the ready with both hands Callum was prepared to finish the fight. The boy rushed again, once again going for the chest with his katana. And once again Callum blocked the blow. Then pushing the blade to the side he released one hand from the hilt of his blade, brought it high up and slammed his fist into his opponents face while their blades were still deadlocked. Being unprepared for such an assault the kid was launched slightly backward before falling to the ground with a crash. His katana forgotten on the ground before him and the package right next to it. Picking up the package he looked back to where the kid had fallen only to find he had vanished. In the thief's haste to depart however he left his sword behind. Picking that up as well he opted to not follow the kid. Callum didn't know the city as well as others and in his attempt to track the kid down he would have likely gotten lost and lost his trail in the process. For now he would have to accept that the kid had escaped and deal with this package, whatever it was. WC: 691 Total WC: 691/7500 |

Chapter 2 Odd package, Rush Delivery to Kami's Lookout ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ With the package in hand Callum was completely unaware of what was held within. Then again it wasn't really any of his business. He was simply asked to retrieve it. Having done that all he had to do now way hand it over and continue on his way. Not sure where he would head next he would deal with that later as well. Making his way through the busy streets of the city was quite a hassle when one wasn't flying. But that would have also drawn attention to himself as the ability to fly wasn't really widely accepted. So for now walking was the best way to get around, and that meant dealing with the crowds. At last making his way to the police headquarters he quickly found his contact and handed over the package. As he was about to make is exit he was flagged down once more by that same cop. "Hold up there a moment, got another favor I need to ask you." Catching up to Callum still with the package in hand, "Listen I just wanted to thank you for dealing with that thief but now we have another issue to deal with and were not quite sure what to do. We would appreciate it if you could help us out once more." He stated. Callum wasn't that surprised. Every where he went he got requests and once people learned of his abilities he would be flooded with even more. To the best of his abilities he would help as many as he could but he would eventually move on to another city and other assignments and requests. He was about to move on but one more assignment couldn't hurt and he already had an idea on what it was going to be. "Let me guess, you need someone to take the package back to the owner?" he asked taking the package once more. "Well ya, we know where it's going but we don't exactly have the means to get there. So if you can get this to Kami's..." The officer stated once again. For a moment Callum thought about. He had never heard of a Kami's lookout and he wasn't sure why they couldn't handle something as simple as a return. "I've never heard of Kami's Lookout, where is it?" Callum asked hoping to get at least a direction before taking off. "West of here you can't miss it, somewhere up in the sky I heard, though I don't know anyone who has been up there. Didn't even know about till all this happened." the officer admitted. "Shouldn't be a problem then, I'll take it from here." Callum answered and then shortly after departed since the conversation was over and he had likely gotten all the info he was going to get. Once again out on the streets Callum began headed west. Once he was outside the city limits he would take to the skies, it would be much faster. Making sure the package was well hidden he continued. The last thing he wanted as another visit from the thief again. And if whatever in the package is valuable he could probably count on it. It took Callum about half an hour after departing the police station to get out of the city. Coming to a small clearing he quickly charged his Ki and took off. Once in the air he felt a rush of excitement. Flying always did this too him, it was one of the things he enjoyed the most. The only time in which he felt the most relaxed, the most at ease. Up here he didn't have to think of anything else other then keeping his Ki steady and watching out for other flying objects. Well that's enough daydreaming, he thought to himself as he re focused on what was at hand and continued looking for this Kami's lookout. He was told that he couldn't miss it but so far he hadn't seen anything out of place. Another forty-five minutes of flying and still nothing. It took another fifth-teen minutes till he could see something off in the distance. He hadn't been flying that high and whatever this was it was much higher then him. Rising higher a closer inspection of the place revealed it to be some sort of floating platform with a large palace a top it. How could something like this just float here he thought as he landed. Other then the palace it was rather open with a few trees planted. Other then that the place looked rather empty. But from what he could tell he was in the right place. It would be hard to miss a place like this. Now to find whoever lives here turn over the package and be on his way. WC: 802 Total WC: 1493/7500 |
