Shadows Rise
-1-

“My power cannot be contained.” An ominous voice echoed across the bleak darkness of the planet’s surface. The form of the creature was in fact formless, as a huddled cluster of shadowy mass loomed over a small lake and brooded over the water. In the dim moonlight of the cloudy sky a small jewel shimmered among the huddled mass of shadows, reflecting the beams of the celestial sphere onto the green waters of the lake. In a beautiful reflection of auburn light, the glistening jewel sparked to life and began to glow like the tiny embers of a fire that has nearly gone out. From the center of the translucent gem flickered a small flame, intensifying with each passing second as the huddle mass of dark matter began to shift and change in appearance. Beneath the starry night sky of planet Namek a dark force was emerging, its malignant force so potent that the life of nearby plants began to wither away.

“Resistance is futile! Bow to me you insolent fool!” A voice again resonated from within the writhing cloud of darkness. The radiant light of the golden gem from within its chest continued to pulsate with life and power, almost as an indicator of the potent magical energy dwelling within. Suddenly, emerging from the cloud of darkness was a limb. The appendage breached through the hazy fog and desperately attempted to cling to anything before it was quickly swallowed back into the huddled mass of darkness. As the formless brooding mass of energy subsided its writhing form, the light from the glowing gem quickly escalated in its intensity. In a matter of seconds, the auburn light emanating from within the sphere, blanketed the portion of emerald waters swaying in front of it. The orange light pierced through the veil of lesser darkness caused by the nature of the night, and bathed the landscape in its warm embrace. Any onlooker might have marveled at the beautiful display, and possibly even drawn closer to the inviting light. However, those foolish enough to make that mistake would find themselves fighting for their life.

With the intensification of the light radiating from the sphere, the dark force surrounding it began to finally take its physical form. Almost like a vacuum, the strange creature began to swallow the life energy of every living entity within the bathing light of the sphere within its chest. Fish lifelessly floated to the surface of the emerald waters of the lake; the thumps of falling birds could be heard along the edge of the bank as they too fell lifeless from their perches. With each passing second that the sphere remained lit, more and more animals continued to donate their life to the dark force manifesting on the planet’s surface. The whisps of darkness slowed their erratic movements and began taking a humanoid form. Arms and legs could now be distinguished, and next came the torso and head. At this stage in the being’s transformation the light from the sphere grew even brighter, shining like a star in contrast to the darkened form in which it rest.

“Give me life!” The creature shouted as the life force within a quarter mile of its location was quickly absorbed through the power of the illuminated sphere. Features of the creature quickly began to manifest on the humanoid’s frame: a face, eyes, ears, a mouth, hair etc. The mas of darkness had finally manifested in its physical form, a form drastically different than its ethereal presence that swallowed its living host. With facial and bodily features identical to that of a human, the man’s gleaning green eyes surveyed the landscape illuminated by the sphere in the center of his chest. The brown haired man absorbed the image before him, and image of death and decay; the image of life reduced to its simplest form, death. “What a consequence to being mortal in this universe.” With a sigh the entity shrugged and glanced down at the blinding sphere placed in his chest, and quickly used his hands to envelop the object. Rays of light pierced through the gaps of his fingertips, as the ball of auburn energy lay clasped between his hands. With a grunt, the man slowly began to force the ball inward towards himself, driving the magical orb into his body.

Like clay, the orb slowly descended into the man’s ribcage, his skin enveloping the ball like quicksand to the unfortunate victims caught in its snare. In a matter of seconds the sphere was gone, and its illuminating light with it. The humanoid creature wiped a bead of sweat from his brow and again looked out across the lake. “What a fool to think that he could handle my power,” The man scoffed as he flicked a lock of his dangling brown hair from his face. “But I do have to thank him, without his body I wouldn’t have been able to manifest once again into this realm.” The man spoke with a tone indicating ageless amounts of experience dealing with life, which was very deceiving due to his appearance not indicating his age to be any older than twenty-four. In the darkness of the namekian night, the kimono garbed man hovered from his position on the bank of the lake, and out over the water. The moon shone bright overhead, its stark white light, looming overhead like an ancient god of the primitive planet. “Soon. Very soon everything will be decided, and I will be the one to pave the way. With the power of the other dragon balls I will eradicate them from existence; and Toshin will be no more.” Steaming with confidence the figure’s aura exploded to life.

A hazy purple light surrounded the man as the force from his exerted power forced the waters beneath him to ripple towards the bank. The floating corpses of the deceased aquatic life were forced away as well, leaving only the lone glowing warrior all alone in the center of the lake. Tongues of purple energy leapt from his body as he turned his head slowly to the sky, craning his neck and allowing his piercing green eyes to take in the grandeur of the celestial light. “Move swiftly Agiel, time is of the essence.” A voice independent of the glowing figure resonated from nowhere, though, Agiel seemed un-phased by its arrival.

“Yes, my liege. I can sense them drawing ever closer as we speak, but don’t worry I will handle them with expedience.” Agiel smiled as the words left his lips, knowing full well that, he possessed the power to eradicate nearly any life form on the planet.

“Do not underestimate them, Toshin is no fool and his son is a force to be reckoned. This alliance will pose a formidable threat. Failure is not an option.” The harshness of the unknown voice could not have been more important. Agiel nodded and then there was silence. As his purple aura faded away, the demon stared happily into the night sky and uttered only a single word more before vanishing into a flurry of shadows. “Come.”

Chapter One: The Emerald Planet

-1-

What Lies In Wait

A couple of months had passed since the war between the Saiyans and Frost’s army on the icy planet. Since then the Saiyans had retreated from the Icer home world and had returned to their ruby gem amidst the blackness of space. Many lives were lost during the insane conflict, but those who survived lived to tell a grand tale. Their Saiyan powers had been pushed to their limits and even further beyond, some had been rumored to have acquired the power of legend during the conflict. The pride of the Saiyan people and their faith in their race and those that led them had increased exponentially with their victory. General Daikon and the newly restored son of Kakarot, Gohan, became known by all who fell under the banner of the Saiyan race. These two played the most vital of roles in the conflict. Without Gohan’s speech the Saiyans would’ve lost their lives in the battle and the race would’ve been pushed toward extinction. Even though Titan wished for nothing more than to conquer the planet, the Saiyan respected the wishes of the android Ezekiel and of Gohan. Titan called off his weary and beaten army, leaving the once rebellious inhabitants of Frost to their own devices.

During that time Gohan came out of his shell so to speak, The Lone Saiyan, attained the esteem he’d once lost. All who once hailed his prowess and strength did so earnestly now. On the battlefield Gohan had promoted himself to the commander of the ground forces, but once the war was over he stripped himself of that title. Now Gohan was just considered an elite warrior who was separate from Titan’s army. He could act however he pleased without having to abide by the laws set forth by Titan. Even though the Saiyan leader didn’t like to admit it, Gohan was the reason he and his armies were able to leave the glacial world. At this point attempting to kill the young son of Kakarot would result in a civil war, and that was something Titan couldn’t afford. So for now Gohan was free to travel with the Cursed Legion, unshackled by the fiery grip of Titan’s command.

A cool breeze washed over the lands of Gohan’s newest destination in his ventures through the blackness of space. The armored Saiyan stood upon a plateau that overlooked the calm green ocean that covered roughly eighty percent of the planet. The collective rays of the three suns that reigned over the emerald heavens soothed the young warrior. The peace that pervaded this planet was infectious for Gohan’s battle hardened soul. As a hybrid there were times when Gohan allowed himself to take in the emotions of his mother’s side of the family. Unlike most of his people Gohan took moments like these to heart. He allowed himself to be consumed by them. Some would consider this softer side of Gohan to be his greatest weakness, but in reality it was his greatest strength. The amount of latent energy within the son of Kakarot was unfathomable, and the emotions that existed within the young Saiyan were the keys to unlocking his true power.

“So this is the planet I’ve heard so much about.” Gohan said to himself as he pressed the button on the side of his green tinted scouter. The fully upgraded device lit up as it began to scan the planet for other powers. “Interesting there are a lot of powerful warriors here, but then that makes sense being that these people created the Dragonballs.” The hybrid spoke of the mystical orbs that very few acknowledged as real. “If I recall Kizura said that the one called Buu has already arrived on this planet.” The hybrid said as he pressed the button on his scouter a few more times. The device beeped with each press and the numbers displayed changed each time as well.

“Ah here we are a battle power just over 18,000…” Gohan mused as he removed his hand from his scouter. “It even has traces of demon energy in it, that’s probably Buu.” The Saiyan said to himself as he began to defy the planet’s gravity. “Who knew this upgraded scouter would be worth the credits I spent to get it.” The hybrid laughed to himself as he recalled his initial rejection of the scouter devices. It had taken nearly fifteen years but the young hybrid had grown accustomed to using the device, however he still desired to return to his birthplace in order to learn how to sense the energies of others by himself. Dependency on such a device was a weakness the hybrid sought to remedy as quickly as possible.

The armored warrior needlessly tightened his gloves as he turned toward the West. An arrow appeared on his scouter’s screen as is it prepared a flight path toward the power it had detected. Even if this being wasn’t the famed Majin Buu, it still held a considerable amount of power and warranted investigation. The number one objective was to locate the Dragonballs, so if this being led Gohan to what he desired then things would be going in the right direction to say the least.

“And here we go!” Gohan shouted to himself as he blasted off. The young Saiyan’ aura flashed to life around his body as he called upon his Ki. Like jet exhaust the crimson aura trailed behind him, making his presence known to all who looked up at the sky.

While Gohan took to the skies in search of his new comrade the dark agents of his bloody past were making their move. The rogue Icer, Aisu, hadn’t forgotten about the hybrid son of Kakarot. The exile of Frost and the decreased presence of the Planetary Trade Organization gave the rogue Icer and his men a bit of breathing room so to speak. Like the Cursed Legion’s higher ups, Aisu believed it was time to make a move on the Namekian home world. The mystic power of the Dragonballs caught the changeling’s eye and so one of his generals had been sent to investigate.

“It has been far too long since I’ve been on a world that has yet be cleansed by the grace of Master Aisu’s will.” The general hissed as he looked over the peaceful lands that surrounded him. The reptilian beast spat on the soil as he let his tail smack the ground beneath him. “This peace rots my lungs, the sooner we can destroy this place the better.” The winged beast scowled as his hands rolled into fists. The only reason he didn’t go on a destructive rampage was that his master hadn’t commanded him to do so. The general was here to investigate, nothing more. Little did he know he’d find much more than the Dragonballs. Soon the Saiyan who’d managed to catch Aisu’s eye would cross paths with the beastly general.

Shadows Rise
-2-

Light dawned on the planet as the multiple sun’s burst over the horizon. The radiant light from the celestial giants bathed the emerald landscape in rays of warm and comforting light, a light more than welcomed by the green inhabitants of the peaceful planet. The nature of planet Namek was one similar to its sister, Earth, though still quite different enough. An emerald hue could be used as an encompassing term for the sphere since a vast green ocean covered the majority of the planet. As the endless waves of lapping water crashed against the base of a large, sheer cliff, a pair of warriors stood atop its peak gazing out into the horizon.

“You’re sure we will be able to make contact?” Shiro asked as he adjusted the sword positioned at his side. The demon’s vermillion eyes gleaned in the light of the sunrise, accentuating his muscular tone and pure face as he awaited the response from his ally. It had been quite sometime since Shiro had the composure to face his pink nemesis, but then again Shiro had accomplished much since that day. Burgeoning with hidden potential the un-ageing teen had grown unquestionably stronger, and hoped to pose a formidable threat to the majin demon should Buu attack. His partner remained silent and only stared out across the emerald sea, almost in search of answers from the soothing clap of the breaking waves. “You awake General Sasuma?” Shiro’s words reflected the admiration and respect for his superior, despite the fact that this man looked roughly the same age as his subordinate.

“Yes, I’m fine. There is a disturbance on this planet, multiple energy signatures of a demonic nature excluding you and I.” Inoko’s unusual purple eyes watched as shimmering rays of light reflected across the seemingly infinite ocean of emerald waters. “We will most definitely make contact with the majin creation, whether or not he complies to Raven’s orders will be a different matter.” Inoko turned to face Shiro now, revealing his youthful appearance full force. The young looking demon rivaled the strength of Raven to some degrees, though lacked the motivation and diligence to propel himself into his master’s position. Instead, Inoko decided to follow his friend and colleague to the head of the demon world, and worked tirelessly to accomplish Raven’s orders to the best of his ability. Bearing the epitome of dedication, Inoko Sasuma was a valued comrade to the demon overlord, and one of the strongest fighter’s amongst the legion’s ranks.

“What do you mean there are other demonic energies aside from our own? How could they have escaped into the living world?” Shiro was flustered by the general’s reports, after all only a handful of demons were able to slip ‘undetected’ into the living universe.

“There are approximately two others aside from ourselves and Buu. One seems to be rather close, amongst a mixture of other ki signatures. The other however, is something that I may have felt before.” Inoko stared towards the south where the malignant aura radiated. “The darkness present in this form is unreal. We had better watch our backs our here Shiro.” General Sasuma moved past his subordinate and headed back away from the edge of the cliff.

“Earth was way more fun than this.” The pink monster hovered over the waters of the planet’s ocean, a frown pursed on his lips. From his demeanor alone one could tell the monster dissatisfied with the amount of playful people on this planet, and since his arrival those numbers remained at zero. “At least back there, people wanted to play, but I don’t think there’s anyone on this planet to play with.” The majin creation continued to sulk and crossed his arms after heaving a heavy sigh. Beneath his boot covered feet, the waters of namek teemed with life, life quite different than the aquatic creatures one might have found in the oceans of planet earth. Darting below in the emerald waters were schools of fish almost three times the size of those on the gem of the universe, their bodies mutated and enlarged by the mystical properties of the planet.

Continuing to sulk Buu neglected to sense the approaching energy of someone in the distance, an individual who was rapidly gaining on his current position. Deciding that the ocean was no place to find any fun, the pink entity exerted his vibrant pink aura and exploded across the waters and immediately headed south. A trail of hazy pink followed behind the majin creature, slowly disappearing with each passing second as the demon traveled hastily across the bright green waters of the foreign planet. Buu wasn’t usually the one to reflect on events that took place in the past, but for some unknown reason he couldn’t get the thought of dragon balls out of his mind.

The shimmering auburn gems were one of the biggest instigators of fun that he had experienced since his resurrection, and the Shaitan overlord promised him something if he successfully brought them all together. Of course, the promise was never kept as the battle ended suddenly and Buu was transported to this desolate wasteland of boredom, but the demon couldn’t help wonder what exactly Beelzebub promised him in return for the balls.

“I wonder if this place has some of those cool balls?” Buu muttered to himself as he flew, the excitement of the magical artifacts already bubbling to the surface. Buu’s scowl had quickly turned into a grin as he imagined holding the shiny objects once again. Even if Namek didn’t possess the magical tools that he sought, the pink terrible monster would certainly tear the planet apart in search of them; and then, when he was satisfied, he would try and find his way off the wretched world.

The sea continued before him, its glossy appearance stretching out into the horizon until finally receding into a landscape of equal boredom. Grass, the same color as the sea littered the brown shore at the edge of the sea Buu had arrived at and only dampened the demon’s mood. “More green?” He sighed as he slowed his flight to a halt. Lowering his pink muscular frame to the ground below, the demon’s senses finally snapped to life as the foreign energy source registered within Buu’s internal detector. At once he was filled with excitement, just the though of another playmate sent shivers down his spine. After months of loneliness and inability to find anyone to ‘play’ with Buu’s opportunity had finally arrived.

Chapter One: The Emerald Planet

The Encounter

Gohan’s scouter continued to guide him toward the one suspected to be Majin Buu. A certain amount of anxiety amassed within the young warrior’s chest as he neared the destination. The stories he’d heard about the destructive creature were both frightening and awe-inspiring. Even though the creature had a meager battle power of 18,000, Gohan knew that underestimating the creature would be a foolish mistake. From what Toshin had said Buu was one who tortured others and fought against them for sheer delight of it. Reason and logic escaped the creation of Bibidi.
“They want to try and recruit a being who probably doesn’t give a damn about any of us. That seems like a fantastic idea.” The hybrid said sarcastically as he continued to rip through the skies. “Sure we can point him toward a target, but that doesn’t mean he’ll shoot. Oh well if he gets out of hand I guess we can kill him.” Gohan shrugged as he pressed a button on his scouter.

At this point he didn’t need the device to track Buu’s movements, for in the distance he could see the creature’s figure. The pink flesh of the humanoid glistened in the solar rays that washed over the surface of the timid planet. Gohan slowed his form as more than just the form of the Majin deity came into view. The boy’s eyes narrowed as he folded his arms of his chest. The pink beast was at least twice as tall as Gohan and his build lacked the muscle that most would expect. However, Buu’s lack of muscle didn’t mean he lacked superior strength and combat ability. If anything Buu’s lanky body provided a natural advantage for him, as others would underestimate him and his skills.

“So are you the one they call Majin Buu?” Gohan questioned the demon. “I have come to retrieve you and bring you back to the Cursed Legion.” The Saiyan called out the pink monster before he even confirmed it to be Majin Buu. However, the question was more rhetorical in the first place. After all, the people who inhabited this planet were green, not pink. Aliens also weren’t all that welcomed here so seeing anything other than the native life was rare.

“Cursed Legion?” Buu echoed Gohan’s words. “I have no interest in such a thing, but I have been looking for a new…playmate.” The creation of Bibidi licked his lips as his pink aura began to ooze from his pink flesh.

The creature’s desire for battle came through in the expression that had spread across his face. Buu’s devious grin alone had the power to send shivers down the spines of lesser opponents. Thankfully for Gohan he was far from being categorized as a lesser opponent, if anything Buu was a lesser opponent for Gohan himself. Still, the prospect of battle intrigued the young son of Kakarot. He’d heard much from Kizura and Toshin about Majin Buu’s strength. As a Saiyan challenging a being with so much potential was beyond exciting.

“Playmate huh? Well after I’m done entertaining you I expect you to return to the legion.” Gohan snickered as he uncrossed his arms. The Saiyan’s crimson aura began to form around his body as he called upon the latent power that gathered within his soul. A clash between Majin and Saiyan was set to begin. The Namekian heavens would tremble in fear of the two combatants’ power and skill.

While Gohan and Buu prepared to do battle the reptilian general began his exploration of the evergreen planet. Like many who came here Aisu’s servant hated the peace that pervaded the atmosphere. The smell of blood and death was practically nonexistent. For Salvia this lack of conflict and bloodshed was far from normal. The dragon-like general and been born within the infernal depths of the netherworld, so mayhem and chaos were all that he knew. His desire to bring that same chaos to all that were graced by his presence almost exceeded Aisu’s own desires. Thankfully Salvia’s lord and master wasn’t as heavy handed, he could easily reign in Salvia’s desire and keep him from bringing about destruction before it was time.

“These Dragonballs had better be worth Lord Aisu’s time.” Salvia hissed as his wings fanned outward. Just as the dragon prepared to take flight his senses picked up on a host of powers that were actually interesting. “Demons? On this planet?” Salvia questioned as his fiery eyes shifted toward the horizon. “Perhaps I will be able to release some of this stress of mine.” The winged general licked his cracked lips and popped his knuckles. “Oh and what’s this…I can detect our dear friend Gohan.” A maniacal laugh escaped the dragon as he pictured the young son of Kakarot in his mind.

Saliva had seen the bloodied and beaten warrior after Aisu had slaughtered Gohan’s crew. The weak and defeated expression on Gohan’s face amused Salvia to this very day. Salvia craved to see the Saiyan defeated once more, but this time there wouldn’t be any second chances.

“Lord Aisu won’t mind if I…say hello to our old friend.” The general laughed as he prepared to make his way toward the soon to be battlefield. Hopefully things would’ve been draw to a close long before the general could make his appearance.

Buu grinned with excitement as adrenaline coursed through his veins like a raging river, flooding his senses with a lust for battle. The raven haired saiyan had made it clear that confrontation was the only mediator between the two warriors, and with the superior strength, Buu would quickly find himself unable to maintain his composure.

“Come then, play with me!” The pink monstrosity shouted as he observed the boy’s crimson flaring aura. In seconds the whirling ethereal aura had erupted from with the soul of Gohan, surrounding him in a crimson glowing veil of mystifying intensity. The energy stored within the very confines of his soul had began to manifest itself in the physical world, and only at a fraction of his true and terrifying power. As Buu honed in on Gohan’s energy signature he only grew more and more excited, and as a token of his appreciation at his playmate’s participation, Buu erupted in a terrifying fit of laughter.

“Yes, yes! At last someone who can handle my power!” The pink monster bore his fangs and clenched his fists, preparing for his assault on the teen. “Lets rumble!” Saliva erupted from his mouth as he shouted, sending the pink demon lurching at his new opponent. The ground beneath Buu’s feet splintered from his take-off, sending an array of emerald debris backwards into the endless sea of green as he exploded towards Gohan. Buu reared his fist back as he prepared to strike the teen in the face, and hopefully follow with a strong knee to the gut. However, Buu made the worst mistake possible and by underestimating his opponent, the demon found himself trapped in a world of hurt.

The small sized saiyan warrior smirked at the attempted strike from his opponent, grinning as his power level stabilized at a measurement slightly higher than his opponent. If it’s a fight this beast once, than he will surely have one. It took tremendous skill as a warrior to actually reduce or restrain your natural power during a battle, and from the events that took place on Frost only a few months ago, Gohan had obtained this battle prowess. With everything in order, the saiyan red the strikes of his opponent like a book, and quickly began his counter attack.

With simplicity the pink fist of the majin demon was avoided as Gohan ducked beneath the strike and placed both palms on the advancing knee of Buu. With precisely the right pressure, the raven haired warrior had negated the forward momentum of Buu’s blow, an threw the demon off balance in mid-air. “My turn.” Gohan smirked as the muscles in his body clenched altogether. In a flurry of devastatingly quick strikes, Gohan’s fists, elbows, and knees sent the pink demon reeling backwards through the air. Without a moment to spare the saiyan vanished in a blur, and suddenly reappeared in the flight path of the uncontrollable pink projectile. Buu had no time to regain his composure, and was therefore helpless to stop the relentless attack from the powerful saiyan fighter.

Spinning his body counterclockwise, Gohan’s leg swung through the air like a wrecking ball; colliding relentlessly into the back of his opponent in a chopping motion. The momentum from the strike changed the course of direction in which the monster flew, and instead of continuing through the air, Buu recklessly hurdled towards the emerald earth below. A surge of numbing pain erupted through the torso of the pink terror, overwhelming his ability to think, and ruining his chances at recovering from the strike. Buu was helpless to stop his decent, and in seconds there was nothing left for him to stop. The demon’s body collided into the earth, with ground shattering force, sending an eruption of dirt and debris lofting into the air. The bone crunching sound boomed like thunder, and Gohan grinned at his clearly superior display of strength and speed.

“Now then, Buu, stop this nonsense and come with me to the legion. We have much need of your strength.” The saiyan barked his commands from his position in the sky, knowing full well that an attack of such minor intensity would not have slain the majin demon. For within the veil of dirt and smoke, Buu exploded, sending the veil of hazy misdirection scattering away and revealing his comfortable crater. “But we’re just getting started, if we stop than I won’t get to have any fun.” Buu sneered as he brushed the dirt from his pants and tended to an ozzing cut on his arm. The demon took his index finger and ran it through the stream of blood and into the wound which had steadily began decresing in intensity. Then, while staring into the eyes of his opponent, the demon wrapped his sinister tongue around the phalangeal shape and sucked the blood clean off.

“Now that, is disgusting.” Gohan watched incredulously as the demon licked his lips at the taste of his own misfortune, but was quickly startled by the display of the demon’s foreign abilities. Buu followed the black eyes of his opponent to the wound on his arm, the very wound that had just been streaming blood only seconds ago. With a devilish grin Buu wiped the remaining blood and dirt from the area, revealing his pink unblemished flesh. “Oh, you didn’t know did you? Scratches and bruises like that are nothing to me! You’ll have to try a lot harder if you really want to hurt me!” The demon erupted in laughter once more, clearly mocking the efforts of the teen’s attempt at putting the demon in his rightful place. Gohan clenched his fists in frustration and furrowed his brow, What the hell is this thing!? They really want this lunatic to join the Cursed legion? The teen began second guessing the commands of his demon superiors, though he wasn’t the least bit intimidated by the majin creation that mocked him from below.

“You think that was the full extent of my power?” He questioned in regards to the previous assault. “Impotent fool, my power knows know bounds!” With startling speed the saiyan warrior sent an array of energy blasts from his palms racing towards the earth. The blasts of ki energy threatened to show the majin demon the true meaning of pain, as Gohan increased his power level to its natural state leaving nothing in the reserves but his true ability.

The Warrior Within

Gohan’s rain of energy blasts tore through the once peaceful island below. Dust and debris swept over the face of the island and splashed in the ever changing sea. Each blast Gohan fired placed an eternal blemish upon the island. However, that wasn’t going to matter for much longer, as soon the entire island would be lost beneath the sea raging around it. The creature howled with horrific laughter as it came flying through the barrage of energy blasts. Buu’s form moved with the fluidity and precision of water. The demon may have been weaker than Gohan, but that didn’t mean he was an inexperienced idiot. In fact the longer Buu contested the son of Kakarot the more determined he became to crush Gohan. Like most warriors Majin Buu appeared to grow while on the battlefield, his desire for bloodshed brought out his latent potential.

Tch, this monster is more perceptive than I thought, but I wonder how much longer he can last? Gohan scoffed as he ceased firing off blast upon blast.

Instead the young Saiyan charged straight toward Super Buu. Just as before Gohan’s crimson aura burned around his body like a fiery beacon, calling out to all who dared to challenge him. The two warriors howled as their fists careened toward one another, neither party cared about the difference in their strength at this point. Holding back was something Gohan had decided to abandon; this creature had the ability to regenerate so there was no need to pull any of his punches.

     Crack!

A resounding shockwave ripped through the emerald heavens as Gohan’s gloved fist impacted with Majin Buu’s. Plasmatic sparks of ki crackled off the combatants’ knuckles as they grinded against one another. Neither warrior wanted to break from their momentary stalemate, but it was clear that Gohan would soon push through Buu’s defense. Grunting the two pulled back their fists only to send their legs flying toward one another. Just as their fists had before, their kicks collided with one another sending yet another shockwave ripping through the airways. Any clouds that had the audacity to sit in on this battle had been banished from the area. In unison pleased grins formed on Gohan and Buu’s respective faces, at heart the two were both warriors and battle was what they lived for.

“Not bad Majin Buu, I see why Toshin is so interested in you.” Gohan said as the two began to trade a series of punches and kicks.

“It has been far too long since I’ve had this much fun!” Super Buu howled as he ducked below a punch that threatened to decapitate him. “Show me more of your awesome power!” Buu demanded as he sent a punch toward Gohan’s chest.

“Heh, be careful what you wish for…” Gohan muttered as he allowed Buu’s fist to collide with the dead center of his breastplate.

The Saiyan didn’t budge an inch. The impact force of Buu’s strike was great, but Gohan’s resilience and tolerance was far greater. A wide grin spread across the unmoved warrior’s face as golden sparks began to crackle through his aura. At first Gohan felt the power of the False Super Saiyan bubbling to the surface, but slowly he started to feel something far greater, something more concrete. A raw power rooted in Saiyan antiquity began to surge through the young warrior’s body as his crimson aura became a pure gold. A long and drawn out breath escaped the son of Kakarot as he tried to understand this power his body was being consumed by.

     Beep!

Just before Gohan could reach into this latent well of energy his scouter went off alerting him to a presence far greater than his own. Before Gohan, and even Majin Buu, could react an inhuman fist collided with the side of Gohan’s face sending him careening toward what remained of the island below. A pained cry escaped the out of control Saiyan just before his form was driven through the surface of the battle ravaged island. What was left of the floating terra firm was dragged down into the ocean along with the shocked son of Goku.

“Ah, well that was fun.” Gohan’s attacker, Commander Salvia, laughed as he stretched his arm. “Sorry to interrupt your little match, but that boy is my prey, go about your business demon scum.” Salvia snickered at Buu. The dragon dismissed the Majin as a potential opponent because he could sense just how weak Buu was, or at least how weak the dragon believed Buu to be.

A bulging vein formed over Buu’s left temple as anger surged through him. Gohan was to be his playmate and opponent and no one else’s. The fun that Buu was having testing his strength against Gohan’s own was exceptional to have the least. This winged idiot would be the first on this planet to feel Buu’s true, unrelenting, wrath. Salvia’s presence was unwanted by the Majin to say the least.

“You took away my fun…” Buu muttered under his breath as his muscles bulged and his aura churned around his body. “How dare you interrupt my fight!” The monster roared as his churning aura exploded outward enveloping his entire body. Gale force winds were birthed by Buu’s raging aura as his anger fed into his expanding power. “I’ll make you pay!” The pink monster boomed before he vanished from sight, suddenly accelerating to a speed twice that of his norm.

“What th-” Salvia was cut off by Buu’s fist collided with the bridge of his nose.

The general’s head whipped backward from the impact, but the pain didn’t stop there. Punches, elbows, kicks and knee strikes were all sent into Salvia’s well-built form. Each strike had just as much power instilled in it at as the last, and each one resulted in a resounding crack that resonated throughout the heavens. With a mighty roar Buu drove his fist into an upward arc as it collided with Salvia’s abdominals, sending the dragon into an upward arc. Just as Salvia left the mantle of Buu’s fist the demon began to gather mass amounts of Ki into his left hand.

“Now you die!” Buu shouted as he released a devastating burst of energy toward Salvia. With little to no resistance Buu’s attack impacted with the general. An explosion echoed through the skies and enshrouded Salvia in a veil of dust and debris.

Silence lingered over the aerial battlefield as the debris began to dissipate into the atmosphere. For a moment it seemed that Buu had actually managed to triumph over Aisu’s esteemed general, but that was a far cry from the truth.

“Well, I see I underestimated you.” Salvia’s raspy voice resonated from within the fading veil. “Perhaps you are worthy of being on this battlefield.” Salvia’ monstrous form became slightly more visible. “However, if that I the best you can do…” The dragon stepped from the shroud revealing his unscathed form. “…then you won’t last very long.”

Just as things started to take a turn for the worst Gohan erupted from the ocean, an expression pure hatred had been engraved upon his face. His drenched hair stuck to the side of his face and to his back, it only fed into his expression. Gohan’s gloved hands rolled into tightly clenched fists; the sound of twisting leather could clearly be heard by all. The mere sight of Aisu’s trusted general enraged the son of Kakarot. The power that had seeped out from his core was starting to surface once again, only this time it came forth without Gohan’s desire for it.

“Salvia!” Gohan exclaimed as his aura exploded around his body. The crimson hue quickly became consumed by a luminous golden. White plasmatic sparks began to crackle through the young warrior’s expanding aura. “You bastard!” Gohan said through his clenched teeth as his muscles bulged ever so slightly.

Hurricane force winds seethed from his expanding aura. The golden light that consumed him began to influence the color of his raven black hair. Images of Gohan’s blood laden comrades flashed in his mind. The hybrid continued to draw upon the enormous well of power he’d inadvertently reached into. Thunder clouds began to roll in from seemingly nowhere. Bolts of blue lightning crackled through the blackness of above. Thunder boomed behind each and every screeching bolt. Gohan’s yell grew louder as his arms flew out to his sides. The Saiyan’s hair flared upward as it was completely influenced by Gohan’s expanding aura. As his hair transformed his eyes also took on a new coloration, going from jet black to a distinct emerald-blue.

Suddenly the aura surrounding Gohan’s exploded into a pure golden light that blinded all who dared to look on at the ensuing conflict. Slowly the light began to dim and the transformed son of Kakarot was revealed to all. Finally the boy had ascended; he had become a Super Saiyan.

“Sir, where are we going?” Shiro’s crimson aura trailed like a comet as the two demon warriors sailed through the air. The wind on the namekian home-world felt cool against his skin, and Shiro would almost dare say he could taste the peace in the air. Emerald plains and sea raced quickly beneath him, their luminous green appearance catching his eye as they passed the occasional tree or lake. For a while it seemed like the planet was uninhabited, though every once and a while the slightest hint of a namekian ki signature would spark within his mind. So we aren’t alone out here after all.. As the passing wind flooded through his ears he glanced over at general Inoko for any indication that he had heard his previous question, and his guess was that he hadn’t.

For such a young looking demon Inoko Sasuma was wise beyond words, and more powerful than Shiro could fathom. At least once he remembered Raven talking about how the two would often best one another in sparing matches in the past, in a time when the Nakamura clan started their conquest in the demon relm. What I wouldn’t have given to take part in those battles.. He thought as he imagined both the general and Raven unleashing their might upon the enemies of the underworld. “Do not plague your mind with such things, focus instead on the path before you.” The general withheld even a glance in Raven’s direction when he spoke, always keeping his eyes on the horizon.

The demon duo began to reduce their speed as they approached what seemed to be some mistake on the planet’s surface. From what they had encountered so far in their journey, planet Namek consisted of plains of endless emerald grass, with the occasional patch of familiar dirt; and then covering the majority of the planet was an endless jade sea that stretched as far as the eye could sea, containing all the vast mysterious that any ocean concealed. However, the two now stood at the face of a massive wall of rock. Indeed, the colossal mountain of grey stone and golden brown dirt stood erect from the planet’s beautiful surface, a blemish on the beauty of the peaceful world.

“There is darkness here, an entity that I could vaguely sense before.” The general screeched to a halt in the air, his aura dispersing and the latent energy within his being completely suppressed. The ominous mountain loomed before the demon general, its strange demonic power radiating from somewhere on its deadly peaks. “This demon has siphoned the life energy of one of the planet’s local inhabitants, and reeks of dark magic.” Inoko’s eyes lit up with a strange violet glow as two strange wing-like symbol’s appeared in the place of his iris’.

“I can feel it as well, though it isn’t a power that I recognize.” Shiro followed suit of his superior and suppressed his energy while also scanning the area for traces of the energy source.

“Nor should I expect you too, this energy is something even older than I.” A curious tone had taken root in the voice of the young general; excitement perhaps? Blinking once, Inoko’s eyes returned to their deep purple hue, and the general raised his hand to his chin and began to think.

“What are you thinking sir?” It took a moment for his superior to respond, but when he did so Shiro was quickly drawn in to the mystery of his words.

“Shiro, there are rumors of relics on this planet. Ancient artifacts forged since the conception of this world, artifacts that can tap into the mystical energies of this world and the next. These mystical relics were forged by the elders of this planet long ago, and even sent a replica of the entire set to the human home world of Earth. If one were to compile the entire set of the mystical objects, it is said that they could obtain unfathomable power.”

The words dripped liked honey from Inoko’s lips as Shiro listened with great intensity. “By channeling the mystical energies within themselves, the namekian elders trapped this energy into seven golden spheres and scattered them across the breadth of this world. I have a sneaking suspicion that one of the natives retrieved one of these artifacts, and by harnessing the latent magical properties of the ball, unleashed an ancient foe from the depths of hell.” There was a long pause as Shiro grasped the gravity of the situation.

“If we find this artifact and present it to the Legion, there is no telling how powerful we will become, and soon the universe will fall like clay into the hands of Lord Raven.” Inoko had the fragments of a smirk breaking from the corners of his mouth. There was no soldier more devoted to the cause of his leader than Inoko, and with the power of these ancient artifacts, the Cursed Legion would rule over all.

“You have a point sir, but how exactly do we find these spheres? By chance we’ve stumbled upon one here, but what about the others?”

“As I told you before young master, do not fret your mind with such thoughts. Instead, focus on the path before you.” Inoko made a sweeping motion with his hand as he gestured towards the ominous rock face. By now Shiro could feel the potency of the dark magic stirring within the air, and all at once the sky began to blacken.

Thunder boomed across the heavens as thick heavy clouds formed overhead. The once peaceful surface of the planet was deteriorating more rapidly than naturally possible, and soon the sun’s beams of light were snuffed out by the obsidian clouds of the storm. Gusts of wind tore through the air as violently as a hurricane, slapping the demon duo as they continued to follow their path. Like an eclipse, the light could not penetrate the veil of thick clouds overhead, and instead only illuminated their dark form to cast a hazy glow over the entirety of the area. At the base of the mountain a pillar of smoke rose into the air. Its scent reeked of death and burning flesh as the barely recognizable figure offered their sacrifice to the gods.

“You see, patience always wins the race.” Inoko turned to the pale-faced Shiro who had become overwhelmed with fear.

“My-my body. It, won’t move!” Frantic the warrior struggled with all his might to move from his current position. Bulging veins rose to the surface beneath his skin as he struggled. However, it wasn’t until he began to shake from his efforts that the wound suddenly appeared. A spreading crimson splotch suddenly birthed beneath the surface of his white shirt, spreading quickly across the surface of his chest. The warm crimson life-blood felt alien as it poured from the mysterious appearing wound, as Shiro slowly felt his body getting colder and colder.

“What in the-“ Inoko hastily appeared at his side pressing his hands firmly against the spot of the wound only to find no abrasion on the skin. While continuing to apply pressure the general scanned Shiro’s body up and down and found no cut, scratch, or anything even resembling a break in the boy’s skin. “How are you bleeding?!”

There was no pain as he bled, no agonizing sensation of burning or piercing. Instead, there was only the feeling of warmth as the flowing vermilion stream dripped from his chest and trailed down his pants and continued to fall like rain to the ground below. Words had left him, and instead of breaths of pleasant air, Shiro found himself choking on the irony taste of blood in his lungs. “You’re gonna be alright kid!” Inoko reassured his ally as he desperately searched for something, anything that could have caused this bizarre massacre of his subordinate.

From the appearance of the wound, until Shiro lost consciousness only two minutes had elapsed, and now Inoko stared upon the lifeless bleeding shell of a warrior he had come to respect and admire. “Damn it all.” He swore as his fingers groped desperately for signs of a pulse. There was no response. Shiro had fallen prey to a mysterious life ending conundrum that left the battle hardened veteran at a loss for words.

“Don’t be so hard on yourself, there was nothing in your power that could have saved him.” A smug and devious tone reverberated through the clouds overhead, echoing like a god as it carried through the heavens.

“Show yourself you cowardly bastard!” Fury had enveloped the senses of general Sasuma, a rage that had not been quelled since the ancient battles of the demon conquest. There was no answer in the sky above save the rolling boom of thunder and flashes of blinding white lightening. Shiro’s aura quickly manifested itself around him, veiling the man in deep purple aegis of horrifying intensity. Darting around the area, Inoko could sense the malignant force nearby; the hatred and malice was almost choking as the general struggled to pinpoint the source.

“There.” He whispered under his breath before vanishing in an explosion of purple light. With his winged gaze set below, the angel of death descended towards the namekian home world fixed upon the ominous smoke that stretched in front of the mysterious mountain.

“Yes, come to me you fool. Soon you will experience the fate of your pathetic comrade, and I will have a new body under my command.” Agiel cackled in muffled laughter as he glanced towards the illuminating force of purple energy surging through the sky. In his hand pumped the last beating thumps of a bloody heart, spewing the life-blood of its previous owner upon the surface of the planet. “Awaken, my child.” The whispered command of he demonic entity carried silently through the air and towards the body of the suspended Shiro. As the words seemed to register in his mind, his body began to twitch and pulsate with life, until suddenly his eyes sprung open.

Resting in the center of his eye balls were not the familiar crimson iris’ that he adorned his whole life, instead they were black as the night that would soon fall upon the planet.

Chapter Two: The Raging Battle

-1-

Set In Motion

     Crack!

Gohan’s fist collided with the side of Salvia’s face with all the speed and force of a locomotive. Blood laden salvia was forced from the beast’s forced open maw. Salvia’s face contorted from both the impact and the pain of Gohan’s strike. The scales that acted as his flesh broke apart revealing a layer of raw green skin. Just as Gohan’s fist came to the end of its curved path, Salvia was sent rocketing away from the transformed hybrid, his body was no longer his to control. The dragon was at the whim of the natural world, a whim that knew nothing of forgiveness. As the dragon fought to regain control, Gohan glanced over at Buu. The Super Saiyan’s eyes remained hardened, even though the pink monster was to be considered an ally.

“Once I deal with this idiot we can take care of our business, for now you can sit back and watch or help me kill him.” Gohan said coldly. The scouter the young Saiyan wore had turned on as it picked up another set of powers to the north, but Gohan ignored the device’s warnings. “Whatever you decide I’m still bringing you back to the legion, you have potential and potential shouldn’t go unused.” The Saiyan continued as he returned his attention to Salvia, who had yet to regain control. “Pathetic, he goes on and on about his strength, yet he can’t even take a simple punch from me.” Gohan snickered at Salvia’s weakness. “Well let’s see how long I can make him suffer for before he dies.” The Super Saiyan mumbled as his aura danced about his empowered form.

Before Buu could make any sort of verbal decision the son of Goku gave chase to his vulnerable prey. The Super Saiyan’s speed was astounding to say the very least. His form broke the sound barrier almost instantly, a cone of air formed around his body the instant he broke through sound’s invisible wall. A roar escaped the raging warrior just before he reached Salvia. Gohan leveled off above Salvia and cocked back his right fist as he did so. A thick grin formed on the Saiyan’s lips as his emerald spheres locked with Salvia’s pain laden eyes. With a powerful roar the Saiyan slammed his fist straight into Salvia’s abdominals, sending the general straight toward the island below. The dragon’s impact split the island clean in half. From Gohan’s strike Salvia had been driven straight toward the bottom of the sea. The island quickly crumbled and descended into the depths with its destroyer.

The Super Saiyan hovered over his handy work; his arms were crossed over his chest. Despite his show of force and desire to utterly crush Salvia, Gohan knew full well that the dragon was far from dead. Even without his scouter to confirm the survival of the general Gohan knew. He could feel it within his gut. However, this knowledge did not anger the hybrid, instead it pleased him. The longer Salvia survived the longer Gohan would be able to torture him. Just as Aisu did Gohan’s beloved comrades. If it hadn’t been for Aisu and Salvia, Gohan would still have his comrades at his side. Until now the young warrior had been unable to actualize the rage that burned within him, but now that Salvia had dared to show his face again all of the pent up anger could be turned loose.

While Gohan’s battle with Salvia raged on Damian and the other members of the Cursed Legion took note of the unfolding events. From the relative safety of their base the Cursed Legion could monitor the progress of their members. The awakening of Gohan’s Super Saiyan transformation was a benchmark of that progress. Everyone knew that Gohan had an exceptional amount of potential, far more than Cell ever did. The hybrid warrior could draw out parts of Saiyan power that no full-blooded Saiyan ever could. It was quite interesting to watch Gohan to say the least.

“It took him long enough to attain that power.” Damian said as he leaned back in his chair and watched the fight unfold on the monitor. “So how long do you think it will take him to destroy Salvia?” The demon directed his question toward Kizura.

“Tch, we shouldn’t be concerned with that just yet.” Kizura waved off Damian’s question. “We should focus on the issue of Agiel.” As Kizura mentioned the demon the battle occurring just north of Gohan’s own came on screen. “We need the Dragonball and the only way to get it is to destroy Agiel, but I don’t think Inoko has any chance of doing that on his own.” Kizura said gravely.

“So then, what do you suggest?” Wyndara questioned as she leaned forward in her chair. The demoness was an esteemed master of the dark arts, should she need to join the fray she had no reservations against it. Agiel may’ve had the power to use dark magic, but his skills couldn’t possibly compare to Wyndara’s own, or at least that was the hope.

“I think we should have Gohan lead Salvia to the north. Buu will certainly follow the battle. Salvia will most likely join forces with Agiel, but Gohan will be able to assist Buu and Inoko in battle. At his current level Gohan should be able to handle such a role, plus Buu’s strength cannot be ignored.” Kizura suggestion was a bold one, but somewhat sensible, somewhat.

“So you want to pool all of our enemies and allies together and see who comes out on top!?” Damian clearly didn’t agree with Kizura’s plot. “Are you insane!? How can you put that much faith in a mere boy!? I don’t care if he’s part of the reason the war on Frost ended the way it did, Cell was a far greater companion than Gohan!” Damian was still bitter about the loss of the bio-android.

“Don’t let your petty emotions cloud your judgment.” Kizura said casually. “Lord Toshin what do you think of my plan?”

As always Toshin remained silent while his subordinates bickered. The Makaioshin played the role of the observer more often than not. “For now we should wait and see what will happen. Gohan’s hatred for this Salvia is far greater than you can even comprehend Kizura. Trying to pull him away from that even for a moment is foolish. If Inoko cannot last long enough for Gohan’s vendetta to be completed, then he wasn’t worth recruiting.” Toshin said coldly as he set his right hand upon the table, his crimson spheres were focused on the monitor. Every detail was important in order to piece together a proper plan of action. Toshin knew this better than anyone. Acquiring the Dragonball was top priority and if necessary the dark lord would enter the battlefield on his own and deal with Agiel himself.

Silence befell the conference room as everyone’s attention returned to the monitor. Toshin had spoken and his words were final, contesting them would be utterly pointless. Neither Sanosuke nor Raven were present and they were the only ones that could overrule Toshin’s choice. For now all the spectators could do was watch and wait, wait for the moment they’d be able to advance. Gohan and Buu were busy with Salvia while Inoko and Shiro were forced to hold their own against the ancient Agiel.

Buu’s crimson eyes watched the magnitude of destruction unleashed by the devastating blows of his rival. Dust and debris continued to waft into the air of the once peaceful planet, towering like a massive column into the green tinted sky. A massive crater had covered the breadth of the island where he once stood, and in its place the flooding waters of the emerald sea swallowed the contents of the impact zone. It was subtle at first, but before he knew it, the pink maniacal demon was bubbling over with laughter as he floated into the air.

“Buu like you boy! You play like I do, and that’s all the better!” As he wiped the dripping tears from his eyes the laughter had began to subside, just in time to hear the large crash of coastal cliff into the gulping waters of the planet. “Lets kill the ugly beast and I’ll listen to what this ‘legion’ has to say.” Fully composed the creation of Bibidi glanced towards the un-phased teal eyes of his new ally. The demon was no stranger to the emotions of anger or rage, in fact, these were the only two emotions that caused Buu to be the most violent at times. As he peered into the eyes of the golden haired teen, he could see the anger whirling like twisters within his heart.

“Perfect.” Gohan muttered as he uncrossed his arms and cracked his neck. “Salvia is far from dead,” A small grin had begun to form in the corners of his mouth. “Which means we can both enjoy making him suffer, and I know that’s one of your favorite things to do.” Gohan had presumed to know a lot about Buu, but his face assumptions were correct. Just upon hearing the word ‘suffer’ the pink demon was already grinning from ear to ear.

“Yes, yes. I do enjoy making people cry out in pain.” He licked his lips, imagining the delicious taste of blood upon his tongue. Gohan grinned and turned his eyes back towards the sea, where the ocean currents continued to rage from the decaying landscape.

Seething with rage, and burning with hatred for the golden haired saiyan, Salvia erupted from the ocean floor roaring like a beast as the ocean waters parted away from him. The emerald sea erupted outwards in a concussive wave, sending a spray of feint mist drizzling into the air. His body had been wounded from Gohan’s destructive blow, but the demon was far from being defeated.

Trails of blood mixed with the odd colored seawater as the draconian creature flapped its wings with brutal force. Sailing from his scaly skin, the water lofted into the air and eventually merged once more with the sea below.

“Wretched boy!” The demon shouted, wiping a small trail of blood away from his face. The hatred within the monster was consuming him, leaving him all too vulnerable for attack. “General Aisu will be proud when I bring him back your head on a platter. Yes, first I will rip your beating heart from your chest and devour it! Then, you can join the rest of your pathetic monkey brethren in the afterlife as I tear the flesh from your bones!” An aura had begun to form around the wretched underling of the changeling general. His muscles and scales began to bulge with increasing power, and his eerie yellow eyes began to pulsate with life.

“You’ll not insult my comrades again you worthless piece of trash.” Gohan’s fists had clenched inward. His nails dug fiercely into his palm and sent a crimson trail of blood dripping down from his golden hued frame. “You have not yet experienced pain, but don’t worry I’ll make sure you suffer until the last putrid breath seeps from your vile lungs.” The emerald eyes of the super saiyan pierced like knives at the dragon creature, Gohan’s rage only adding fuel to the fire burning within his heart.

“Oh, don’t you two leave me out of the fun!” The pink demon shouted as he too began to power up into his next transformation. All the powers gathered in this single location had the potential to cause utter annihilation to the planet of Namek, ridding the inhabitants of life and reducing everything to rubble. In fact, there wasn’t any where that Buu would rather have been than in this situation right now. As the demon’s bright pink aura ignited into existence, he form began to glow an equally bright shade of light. The pink beams of light surged with blinding intensity and enveloped his form, and unlike the situation with the Shaitan, this transformation took only seconds to obtain.

As the blinding pink light began to fade, Buu’s newly transformed body gleamed in the namekian sunlight. The muscle tone of his figure had sharpened as well as the overall mass of muscle had increased to greater proportions. His height, weight, strength, and even antennae had all achieved a new look. The only consistent feature on the pink body of the demon was the horrifyingly sadistic grin that faced the two warriors before him. Much to Buu’s surprise the two hadn’t graced his transformation with so much as a glance, and only were slowly moving to advance on one another.

A vein bulged in the demon’s forehead and neck, as the blood pumped with great intensity through his veins and into his wretched heart. Joining the festivities of unbridled anger, the demon quickly found himself seething. They didn’t even notice me? HOW COULD THEY The demon’s jaw clenched as he stood in awe at the audacity of Gohan and the slimy stranger. Before the other two even noticed Buu had arrived at the side of Gohan’s dragon rival with a glowing sphere of rosy energy glowing through his fingertips. “LOOK AT ME!” With destructive force, the energy collided into the face of Salvia, erupting in an explosion of bubbling pink light.

The concussive wave exploded through the air like a gunshot, defining the ears of those nearby. Expecting his foe to collapse under the force of his strike Buu stood in awe as Salvia’s body remained unmoved and practically unscathed by the strike. “That was cute, now let me try.” The draconian warrior reacted with speed far beyond the comprehension of the pink demon. Or, so he thought.

The general’s fist struck true to the temple of Majin Buu, tearing through his skull and emerging on the other side of Buu’s after image. “Boo.” The demon smirked as he appeared behind the general his appendages erupting outwards like pink tendrils. With mystifying power, the arms and legs of Buu stretched beyond their limits and attached to Salvia’s body like binding ropes on a captive. They swirled around his limbs and pulled the stunned general into his torso, locking the crazed beast into place. Teamwork wasn’t something Buu was accustomed too, though with his new opponent raging with power, he wasn’t stupid to allow this opportunity to slip by.

“TAG HIM, TAG HIM NOW!” Buu shouted at Gohan who was already lurching forward with a smile plastered on his face. Whether it was the realization that Buu could actually be a helpful ally, or the fact that he was about unleash the wrath quelled within, Gohan was pleased with the circumstances at hand.

Chapter Two: The Raging Battle

-2-

A New Battlefield

Buu’s cunning pleased the Super Saiyan. The more time Gohan spent with the Majin creation, the more he began to respect him. Buu’s infernal power was beyond impressive; the creature’s transformation increased his power by nearly 100%. Like Gohan’s Super Saiyan form, Buu’s enhanced state provided a formidable power boost that shouldn’t have been ignored. However Salvia’s and Gohan’s initial ignorance worked to their benefit in the end. If they’d acknowledged Buu right off the bat the demon’s attack would’ve failed. When Buu yelled out for Gohan to attack the Saiyan didn’t hesitate, especially since he knew Buu wouldn’t be too harmed by any collateral damage.

“You’re mine Salvia!” Gohan roared as he began to gather mass amounts of Ki into his poised right hand. The distinctive hum of energy echoed through the airways as an opaque sphere formed before the warrior’s palm. “This won’t be over quickly.” The Super Saiyan muttered just before his left palm struck the dragon’s sternum. A pained gack escaped the winged beast as pain reverberated throughout this scaled body. “Kiaiho!” Gohan boomed as he placed his palm upon the dragon’s body. An explosion of energy bore its strength into Salvia’s body, engulfing him with a hellish power. As the blast consumed him Buu released the dragon and used his elastic body to his benefit, snaking beside the still son of Kakarot.

“Let’s follow our prey Buu.” Gohan said with acknowledgement in his voice. The Majin had earned a place in Gohan’s mind as a comrade. The pink monster had proven his strength and ability to be useful.

“Yes! Let’s continue to make him suffer!” Buu howled as he and Gohan darted after the out of control demon.

Gohan was the first to reach Salvia as his speed exceeded Buu’s own. The transformed hybrid came below the distraught dragon and slammed his fist into the beast’s back. The sound of twisting flesh and creaking bone resonated within the air as the dragon was launched upward. Just as Salvia reached the peak of his unwanted ascension Buu appeared above him, a devious grin had spread across the warrior’s face. Buu let his fists fly into Salvia’s frame, each blow impacted with the force of a coal train. Each time Buu struck Salvia his laughter and insidious glee became more and more evident. The Majin’s red irises glowed brightly as his power continued to soar. With one final howl Buu sent both of his knees into Salvia’s chest sending him straight toward Gohan who’d taken up residence on an island below.

Buu is pretty impressive, now it’s about time we end this idiot’s pathetic life. Gohan thought as he watched Salvia fall towards him. There’s a village on this island, destroying the people here won’t bring us anything, all of this rage must be spent on Salvia and no one else… Gohan’s humanity started to poison in seething rage. The seeds for the young Saiyan’s reinvention had already been planted.

     Boom

A thundering explosion laden with the sound of breaking earth, churning water and rising ash rang out on the battlefield. Salvia’s impact crater left an eternal blemish on the island. A groan escaped the dragon as he tried to pull himself from his new home. His scale ridden form had been tainted by wounds that he never thought he’d have. The combined might of Majin Buu and Gohan had become far too much for him to handle. Salvia didn’t want to admit it, but he had only one option left, and that was to destroy this entire planet. Aisu’s desire for the Dragonballs came second to Salvia’s own survival, after all the destruction of Gohan mattered to Aisu for than the Dragonballs. At least, that’s what Salvia hoped to be the case.

“You insolent monkey!” Salvia boomed as he finally climbed out of the impact crater. “I swear I will destroy you!” Salvia hissed as his eyes became consumed by a vermillion aura. “I will crush this entire planet if it means killing you!” Salvia continued to let his anger venture into his words and his fiery aura.

The ground beneath Salvia’s feet began to tremble as his power went on the rise. Like Super Buu and Gohan the dragon had a transformed state, however his was far different from theirs. Salvia’s was momentary it only allowed him to perform his finisher, the Final Dragon Sphere technique. Despite it’s beyond corny name it held the power to destroy planets. The general had used it many times in the past to bring entire worlds before the great King Yemma. If Salvia had his way Namek would meet the same fate as the worlds before it.

“So you’re going to use your most powerful technique huh?” Gohan questioned as he allowed his aura to flare around his body. “Well I have need of this place so you won’t be getting your way anytime soon.” The Saiyan took a deep breath as he began to cup his hands at his side. Particles of orange energy began to amass between his palms as he called upon the power swirling within him.

“Boy you will regret having pushed me this far.” Salvia scoffed as he slowly took to the skies, adding to the ominous aura that surrounded him. “I will show you why I am known as the great destroyer and why my power is feared throughout the known universe!” The angered general barked as particles of magma toned ki formed before his chest.

Once more thunderclouds rolled onto the battlefield, their heart stopping song was even louder than before. Lightning ripped through the clouds as they continued to thicken overhead. Stray bolts impacted within the ground around Gohan’s feet. However, this scene didn’t bother the hybrid, it kept him focused. The hell that raged around him mirrored his inner turmoil to a tee. If anything the son of Kakarot felt most at home in the chaos brought on by he and Salvia’s expanding energies.

The villagers that knew this island to be their home were forced to look on in horror as they realized their abode was about to go up in their flames. Their only hope for survival rested in the hands of some boy and a pink demon. These two warriors were to be considered anything but heroes under any other circumstances. However, the Nameks had no choice but to put some faith in them as without them they’d all perish.

“Tell me boy are you ready to meet your end!” The dragon roared as the rotating sphere of energy before him reached its optimal size.

“Tch, no I hope you’re ready to be sent to the otherworld.” Gohan grinned as he slid his left foot forward. The orange sphere he’d formed between his palms glistened as his aura continued to expand. The Saiyan’s strength was anything but to be underestimated, he may not have learned his father’s signature technique, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t improvise.

“Then here it comes! Final Dragon Sphere…fire!” Salvia cried out as he unleashed the mass of ki toward Gohan. The hellish orb gained speed and power as it fed upon the oxygen surrounding it.

“Take this!” Gohan roared as he pushed his cupped hands outward toward the incoming attack. A brilliant beam of orange and yellow energy erupted from the young Saiyan’s palms.

The world around Gohan and Salvia slowed to a halt just before their two attacks impacted. Time itself took a moment to marvel at the soon to be earth shattering clash. If Gohan were to succeed Namek would be the first planet to survive Salvia’s ultimate attack. However, should Gohan fail the planet would just be another on the list of forgotten world.

Namek. A sphere of emerald intensity shining like a beacon in the universe. Unparalleled peace was an identifying characteristic of this gem, a peace un-heard of anywhere else in the vastness of space. The emerald plains of grass rolling endlessly towards the horizon, only to be met by equally endless seas of green. In the midst of this cornucopia of peace, destruction had begun, and nothing would stop it.

Particles of ki energy flickered and sparked in the atmosphere. Their charge unbridled and furious, as the two mega powers gathered their energy. Gohan’s aura swirled with ferocious intensity, its golden hue shining like a beacon in the midst of the darkness resonating from the draconian demon. Leaping from his person like bolts of incredulous lightening, the super saiyan’s power seemed limitless. As the battle began, Buu had no idea such a small child could possess power that far surpassed his own, a power with the ability to lay an entire planet to ruin if he so chose to do so. The rage pulsating through the veins of the teen, acted like kerosene.

“Take this!” Roaring with unbridled fury, the golden hued super soldier unleashed a beam of cataclysmic destruction from within his fingertips. With all the potential energy of a dozen missiles, the beam of orange-yellow energy erupted from Gohan’s palms and was sent cutting through the air.

Eyes wide and heart racing, Buu sat in awe of the sheer destructive force of both Gohan and Salvia. Time seemed to slow to a stop as the draconian monster reared back and released an attack of his own, an equally destructive and powerful blast. “Boom boom.” Buu’s gasped managed to seep through his lips as the two energy attacks soared through the air.

“Shiro stop!” The plea from the raven haired general reached deaf ears as his entranced subordinate unleashed a furious array of slashes with his katana. Inoko dodged the blows with all the swiftness and skill of a battle-hardened veteran. Appearing on the right of the wounded Shiro, Inoko delivered a swift strike to the wrist, a cutting blow that slammed hard into Shiro’s wrist. With a pop, the strike made contact, though, it had no effect and only seemed to agitate the entranced demon even more.

“Shiro is not here.” A warped and twisted voice projected from the mouth of the vermillion haired warrior, a voice unfamiliar to the ears of Inoko. The general was startled by the tone and sound of the voice and leapt backwards in preparation for attack. Shiro’s chest shook with laughter as the jet black eyes set within his skull fixed their gaze on the hate filled Sasuma. “Scared?” Inoko’s fingers dug hard into the palm of his hand shaking with rage.

“Agiel you bastard. Are you not brave enough to fight me yourself?” His words were like knives from his lips, but did not penetrate the façade Shiro bore. Instead, the heartless vermillion haired demon stared lifelessly into the eyes of his commander. “Brave enough? You misunderstand.” Shiro sheathed his katana inside the scabbard on his back, sliding the slender steel blade into position with the sweet sound of metal on metal. As the blade slid into position Shiro’s body began to spasm, pulsating violently as the dark energy welling up within his body started to erupt. As his body seized, a veil of dark mist manifested in the air, the choking gas swallowing the air around the duo and sucking it into the gaped mouth of Shiro.

“Stop it you fiend!” Inoko erupted forward, his fist curled and ready to collide with the strange shadow that had appeared within the mist. However, as Inoko neared within five feet of the seizing body, he froze in place. Agiel’s laughter filled the air and then, everything was engulfed in darkness. The dark clouds looming overhead descended from the heavens and swallowed the battlefield, choking out the light and absorbing the dismal hope that resided within the heart of Inoko.

Chapter Two: The Raging Battle

-3-

The End of an Era

[inden]The two masses of energy continued to grind into another, their luminous light pushed aside the darkness that reigned overhead. For a moment that felt like hours the two attacks were dead even. No matter how much energy and concentration the two poured into their attacks they remained at a stalemate. Plasmatic sparks crackled off the two blasts as they tried to outdo one another. Their thundering roars were augmented by the sounds of battle and hatred. The ground beneath Gohan’s feet began to condense inward and collapse upon itself.

This won’t be the end of me or this planet! Gohan thought as he began to push more of his power into his technique. Slowly but surely the orange blast pushed back Salvia’s planet buster. The mass of orange consumed the spherical blaze. Say goodbye! Gohan roared within his mind as his muscles bulged and he rocked forward. Gohan’s energy wave ripped through Salvia’s Dragon Sphere technique. The attack shattered like pieces of glass as it was consumed by Gohan’s exceptional power. Salvia’s eyes widen with a mixture of shock and fear as his death grew closer and closer. Self-defense was something that had completely escaped the dragon’s mind, never before had someone overtaken Salvia’s ultimate attack. The son of Kakarot was truly a warrior of legend. Gohan’s skill and tenacity pushed beyond the boundaries of reality and made the impossible quite possible.

“This cannot be!” Salvia shrieked as he was consumed by Gohan’s energy wave.

The demon’s flesh burned as his scales began to peel away from his form. A searing pain racked the dragon’s body as he was swept up by Gohan’s attack. The dying warrior was forced to travel within the mass as it moved into the upper atmosphere. By the time the dragon reached the stratosphere his lower half had been completely incinerated. Sadly, the dragon’s resilience and natural ability to survive while under any form of physical duress allowed him to feel the indescribable pain. Salvia traveled within the beam of light until the beam collided with an asteroid within the darkness of space. The resounding explosion consumed what was left of the dragon, turning him into a smoldering cloud of ashes. Just like the planet he had destroyed Salvia became nothing but particles of dust within the vastness of space. His reign of terror had been brought to a painful and dramatic end.

Exasperated breaths escaped the son of Kakarot as he fell to his knees. The young boy’s muscles ached as he lowered his arms down to his sides. The aura that once burned so brightly around him had died down completely, receding beneath his weary flesh. A faint smile came to the hybrid’s face as he came to the realization he’d won, it was over. Salvia had been slain, and Gohan had awoken the legendary power of the Saiyan race. Gohan couldn’t help but to feel proud of his accomplishments on this day. Slaying Salvia was something that he hadn’t intended to do anytime soon if even at all. Up until now Aisu had been the only target on the boy’s mind, but now he felt some sort of relief. Aisu was still a threat sure, but a portion of Gohan was able to take solace in the fact that one of the Icer’s generals had met his end.

“It’s finally over.” Gohan muttered as his breathing began to slow.

As Gohan’s heartbeat slowed his transformation began to fade. The emerald tone of his eyes faded to black and his hair gave way to the power of gravity. Its golden color faded into its native raven black. The aching pain in Gohan’s muscles eased off as the effects his transformation dissipated. As Gohan continued to recover an irritating beeping sound was emitted from his scouter, there was an incoming transmission.

“What is it?” Gohan questioned as he pressed a button on his scouter.

“It’s nice to talk to you too Gohan.” Kizura laughed. “I would like to congratulate you on your defeat of Salvia and recruitment of Majin Buu; however we need the two of you to head toward a more pressing situation.” Kizura said as coordinates popped up on the scouter’s display.

“Of course there is.” Gohan sighed as he stood up.

“We need both you and Majin Buu to aid Inoko Sasuma in the fight against Agiel, a powerful demon who can use dark magic. Agiel is in possession of a Dragonball so it is imperative that you take him down.” Kizura explained.

Gohan shook his head as he motioned for Buu to land. “Fine Buu and I will deal with your mess, but after this mission I’m taking a little R&R.” With that Gohan cut off the transmission. Going from one intense battle to potentially a second didn’t please Gohan in the slightest. While it was true Gohan loved a challenge he wasn’t an idiot. Fighting at barely half strength was far from ideal. Still the Dragonballs were quite important so there was nothing the hybrid could do other than carryout the assignment.

“Well Buu it seems we’ll be going on official business for the Cursed Legion now.” Gohan let a weary smile form on his lips. “I’m pretty drained after that fight with Salvia so I’ll be counting on you to take charge this time around. I don’t know if my body will be able to take becoming a Super Saiyan again. If push comes to shove I will transform, but let’s try to avoid that.” The hybrid let his weary expression become a friendly one. Despite Buu’s insanity, he’d proven to be quite the valuable ally.

As the flesh of the draconian general began to dissipate into nothing but falling ash, Buu was taken back by the events. The only expression he could manage to form was a half-smile glazed with awe at the power of his new ally. A warm gust of wind cut through the air and brushed itself against his smooth pink skin, reminding him that this was indeed reality. The battle was over, and with it a sense of peace had been restored to the namekian home world, at least, for now. Gohan’s breathing had begun to slow and his powerful gold aura faded into nothing as the super saiyan reverted to his original form. Buu could not understand why the boy changed, but could sense the fatigue radiating from his muscles. Apparently the human suffered from the effects of transforming, a side effect not suffered by the demon. The demon shrugged and joined his ally descending to the ground.

“Fine, Buu and I will deal with your mess, but after this mission I’m taking a little R&R.” Buu could hear the frustration bubbling over in the teen’s tone and gave his attention to the raven-haired saiyan. Something was changing within the demon, a sensation he could not explain. Deep within his core welling up in the small chamber that mortals would call a ‘heart’ a new feeling was taking root. This unfamiliar brooding force was changing the demon, morphing his metaphysical nature in a way like never before. After witnessing the sheer power of Gohan, and the realization that he wasn’t the strongest being in the universe, Buu began to understand his place. Sure the bloodlust and battle hungry nature he was always accustomed too would remain, but the demon had developed a sort of respect for his partner; the first ounce of respect Buu had ever devoted since his creation.

“Well Buu it seems we’ll be going on official business for the Cursed Legion now.” Gohan let a weary smile form on his lips. “I’m pretty drained after that fight with Salvia so I’ll be counting on you to take charge this time around. I do not know if my body will be able to take becoming a Super Saiyan again. If push comes to shove I will transform, but let’s try to avoid that.” The harsh battle ready face of the teen soften and melted away into a friendly smile, another unfamiliar concept to the majin creation. Was this Cursed Legion something that Buu could be brough into, a place where he no longer had to wander alone and kill endless amounts of people alone? Maybe these people shared the same bloodlust as he, and as a team they could have all the fun imaginable.

Buu grinned as he listened to the saiyan his body aching with anticipation for the coming fight. While he didn’t provide much support during the previous conflict, the pink monster was adamant on decimating this new foe that threatened the alliance. “Fine by me.” The demon uttered as he cracked his neck and fingertips. Gohan stared for a moment, his eyes lingering on the demon’s transformed state, his thoughts racing. How can this monster sustain that form for so long? Shouldn’t his body be deteriorating from the stress? It was at this moment the saiyan remembered Buu’s regenerative abilities, understanding that with that sort of power Majin Buu had the potential to be unstoppable.

“I have the coordinates for our destination programmed into my scouter.” With the push of a button the display for the electronic device clicked to life. An array of numbers and data poured across the screen, superficial data that only seemed to complicate the rather simplistic device. With another button press and the emitting of a beep, all but a few numbers vanished. “Here they are, we are heading directly to the north, it appears one of the Legion’s valued assets have encountered a powerful demon that escaped into the living realm through the power of a dragon ball.” Buu’s eyes snapped to the boy; a look like a child had forming on his face.

“Dragonball?” He questioned with excitement. It had been a long while since his encounter with the elegant spheres, and it turned out more than just the shaitan had their eye on the mystical artifacts. In his minds eye the demon could see the gem shining in the sunlight, its auburn light gleaming like a star. I must have it.. the demon thought as he reached out in his mind to grab the sphere.

“Yes, I trust you’ve heard of them before? These artifacts have unfathomable power, and the Legion has decided it would be in our best interest to collect them.” Gohan had all of Buu’s attention now as the demonic smile Buu always displayed appeared on his face.

“Yes I have, they are quite the center of attention.”

“Indeed they are. We better get going before it’s too late.” Gohan motioned the demon to follow him, and with a nod, Buu complied. In an instant Gohan ignited his aura and leapt off from the ground, rocketing towards the north. Buu followed quickly behind, his bubblegum energy swirling like a hurricane around him. At last, the dragonballs will be mine and I can have the power that his boy possesses! The demon licked his lips as the warm Namekian air caressed the crevices of his body, flowing effortlessly around his aerodynamic skin. He could almost taste the power of the mystical spheres, anxiously awaiting the power they granted. As he did so however, a single thought came to mind. These people want the balls for themselves…why should I have to share. Buu had managed to form a bond of trust with Gohan, a trust that he would need in the coming battle, but could he really expect this stranger to share the power of the artifacts with the a crazed battle hungry fiend like Buu? If push came to shove, Buu would usurp the authority of his ally and take advantage of his fatigue and claim the power for himself. Respect was something to be earned, and while Buu had grown respect for Gohan it didn’t mean he had to spare his life.

“There it is in the distance!” Gohan shouted, his voice carried by the wind into the earholes of the pink demon, snapping Buu back to reality. Letting his eyes follow the direction of the teen, he could see the darkness approaching ahead. The sky was black, a darkness kin to that of a moonless night, the sun’s of the planet unable to penetrate their thick malicious veil. A mountain rose into the sky, brooding like a god over the valley below, a valley engulfed in a dark hazy shroud identical to the clouds over head. Even from this distance Buu could sense the evil energy emitting from the darkness, a malice only known by demon kind. An extreme force of darkness was creating this shroud, and Buu could tell it would be no walk in the park sending this creature back to the reaches of the underworld. “We have to hurry, I fear we may already be too late!” Gohan shouted again as his aura exploded and he accelerated into the distance, racing to the battlefield to save Inoko Sasuma.

Inoko watched with his eyes wide as the dark smoke poured from the mouth of his subordinate, the gaping hole where his heart had been sealing shut with every passing second. A grim laughter filled the air, a laughter belonging to the wicked force responsible for this shroud of gloom. Then, the mist began to swirl, spiraling like a twister around Shiro’s body as the silhouette of a man began to form behind the crimson haired warrior. It was as if he commanded the shadows as the demon spawn manifested from the darkness, his gleaming green eyes glaring down at the trapped Sasuma.

“You called?” Agiel’s tone was sarcastic and devious, an expression that only agitated Inoko even more. By this point the opacity of the clouds had lightened to a stone grey, making it possible to see but no more than three or four feet ahead.

“Leave the boy out of this. Let’s settle this like men.” Even while bound by the magical properties of the ancient demon Inoko still sounded like he was in charge.

“Like men you say?” The emerald eyes of the demon fluttered shut as he chuckled at the notion. “My dear friend, men are the most cowardly of beings. We are above their status. We are demons, and quite frankly demons settle things in a far different manner than men.” Agiel’s face crinkled with disgust as the words dripped from his lips like poison. Shiro’s body had ceased its shuddering and was being held in place by the same wicked magic that managed to bind the demon general. Agiel flicked his wrist and the body fell, collapsing to the emerald floor with a thud.

“Satisfied?” He said sarcastically as he delivered a swift kick to Shiro’s side and sent the unconscious body rolling towards the feet of its commander. It was at this moment Inoko realized that he too had been freed from Agiel’s grasp as he bent down to check on the status of his ally. The general flipped his comrade over, quickly examining the location of the wound that ripped his heart from his chest and found only scar tissue in its place. Shiro’s shirt had been torn, but it appeared that the wound had been healed and no life-threatening injury needed to be tended too.

“I’ll make you pay for what you did to him.” Inoko hissed as he laid the crimson hair of Shiro gently to the ground before standing to his feet.

“Oh really? And how do you plan on doing that?” Agiel was clearly taunting his opponent and even had the audacity to turn his back to him. Inoko was not about to let this moment slip by, and with the speed of lightening he was already at the back of his foe, an energy blade manifested as an extension of his palm ready to skewer the man like a pig. With an equally swift and agile thrust of his palm the blade plunged deep into the back of his opponent, splitting the flesh of his back and erupting onto the other side. The smell of blood filled the hair as the black blood of the demon dripped down the blade and Inoko’s arm, soaking the ground with its putrid stench. There was silence for a moment as the humming blade quickly dissipated, and then laughter. It started as a light chuckle, but before long Agiel’s body was shaking from laughter as his blood flowed freely from his body.

“Not bad, but you’ll have to do better than that if you want to kill me!” In a single graceful swoop, Agiel’s leg swung like a crescent into the side of Inoko’s unguarded face, sending the raven haired warrior toppling to the side. The blow caught the general completely off guard as he struggled to regain his vision as his body skid along the bright green grass. Slowing to a stop as he neared the base of the monstrous mountain, Inoko’s head rung with pain from the strike, his vision glazed with stars as he regained his composure. “Bastard,” he muttered as he struggled to his feet, struggling to orient himself to the new location.

“I’d congratulate you on the attempt, but well we see where that got you.” The retort of the demon broke the entranced glaze of Inoko as he shook the pain from his throbbing head.

“What are you?”

“What am I?” Agiel questioned as his wounds slowly drew to a close, his power level beginning to rise. “I am the nightmare you could only dream of becoming. I am the new age, the future of what this universe will become.” The aura of the crazed being was beginning to manifest, a thick black veil that only intensified with each passing second. “The true darkness has come to cover the universe in its might, a being with power beyond the Kai’s and Makaioshin.” Agiel’s body began to glow with a hazy purple light, a hue similar to the eye color of the startled demon general. “I am servant to the lord of the underworld a force created from the beginning of time, who’s roots spawn the most heinous of beings. I serve the Abbadon, the master of death and destruction, who’s goal is to turn the universe to ruin!” Agiel was laughing now with a maniacal tone that sent a shiver of fear down Inoko’s spine.

“Now, are you prepared to join your friend in the afterlife?” Inoko’s eyes shot to Shiro, whom remained in the resting position Inoko had left him.

“Impossible, his wound had healed! There’s no way you I’d let you kill him!” Inoko barked with rage as his own violet aura commanded itself around him.

“Let me? How cute.” Agiel held out his palm towards Inoko, a dark shape manifesting in the emission of purple light. As the light faded the face of the general went pale as he understood what Agiel had said. “He’s already mine.” With a grin the wicked fingers of the sadistic fiend, plunged into the slow beating heart held within his grasp, sending a spray of crimson mist into the air. The warm liquid dripped from his hands as the heart was torn apart, Shiro’s body seized for a moment before lying lifeless on the ground. Inoko only watched in horror as the best friend and colleague of his commander and chief was murdered before his very eyes.

“Do you see how futile it is to resist? If you leave now I will show you mercy.” Agiel dropped the mutilated organ to the ground, letting it thump and roll away from his feet as he waited for the response of Inoko.

Inoko’s eyes widened and his fists clenched in rage as he watched his friend and comrade die. He was charged with protecting him on this mission, a direct order from Raven himself. How can I face him…even with me here there was nothing I could do.. The anger welling up with the demon was continuing to intensify, his emotions sparking to life the rage contained within his heart. I refuse to hold back against this monster… Inoko’s aura began to grown in intensity as plasmatic sparks of deep violet energy erupted from the veil of light.

“Mercy?” He muttered the anger seething within every fiber of his being. Inoko’s eyes closed shut for a moment as he reflected on his experience with Shiro. “You expect me to receive the mercy that you denied to my ally?” His power continued to rise, the sparks of purple lightening flickering with greater frequency as his aura began to emit a wave of intense heat. The grass contained with his aura’s reach began to scorch and burn from the heat of the veil, withering away in a smoking heap as the aegis of destruction burned them to a crisp. “The only person who should be begging for mercy is you.” Inoko’s tone was calloused and on the surface calm; but beneath the calm of his voice raged an inferno of anger.

“Me, beg? Suit yourself, I’ll kill you just like your pathetic friend.” Agiel’s words had just enough time to leave his lips before a wind of scorching heat blasted against his face. Shiro’s eyes shot open revealing a winged symbol characteristic of the Sasuma clan, a doujutsu that he had yet to use since the great demon wars. “I make this promise to you; the last thing you will see, will be your beating heart in my hands as I rip it from your chest.” In an explosion of purple light, Inoko disappeared leaving only an image of his body behind as he traveled like lightening towards Agiel.

Agiel’s façade of confidence had quickly been melted away and stood flabbergasted at the amount of power Inoko emitted before he vanished. He’s fast. The demon’s eyes had only enough time to track the energy of his opponent before relying on instincts to trigger his defense. Spinning to the right, the demon crossed his arms, bracing himself as the powerful fist of his opponent drilled into his forearms. The blow exploded like a gunshot, booming into the air and sending a shockwave of air away from the point of impact. Time slowed for a moment as Agiel stared into the winged irises of his opponent, leaving his lower body unguarded to the powerful kick connecting to his ribs. The bone shattering strike sent the demon soaring through the air at an incredible speed, the sound of the strike exploding like a canon as his body collided into the face of the mountain.

A shower of rocky debris erupted from the cliff-face, as a shroud of dirt exploded from the impact crater. Inoko wasted no time, and followed his prey into the crater, his arm reaching through the rocky orifice and grabbing a fistful of Agiel’s stunned body. Without hesitation, he ripped the body from its rocky home, pulling him through the debris that encased him, and slung him back from the direction he had come. Inoko vanished again, appearing in front of the demon and swung his leg in a downward arc, colliding relentlessly into the fiend’s temple and rocketing him to the earth below. Inoko’s increase in power was far beyond Agiel’s expectation, and he fell prey to the assault with no means of defense. Much like the face of the mountain, the ancient demon found himself buried beneath the debris of the namekian soil, his body bruised and bleeding from the strikes inflicted upon him. His body ached with a pain he hadn’t in a millennia as he shook the dirt and rock from on top of him.

“That fool!” He barked as Agiel’s aura surged to life, sending the debris around him exploding outward. Glancing skyward he saw the eyes of his foe gleaming with light, before they vanished once again. Shi- his thoughts weren’t even able to finish before a looming figure appeared over him. Without even time to defend, or the time he thought he had, Inoko’s hand shot fort, piercing through the demon’s flesh with ease. Agiel’s eyes widened as he felt the fingers of his opponent clench the life-giving force in the center of his core, and with an effortless motion the object was ripped from his body.

The flying duo arrived just in time to witness the spewing of a thick black liquid upon the namekian soil as Inoko’s hand retracted from the demon’s chest. Clutched within his fingers was not the beating organ Inoko had hoped to crush, but instead a crimson sphere dripping with the black life-blood of the demon falling backwards into a crater. The eyes of the demon faded like the light from a projector at the end of a movie, as it descended into the rocky pit. However, just as it was about to hit the ground it dispersed into a thick black smoke, and a burst of wind rocketed through the battlefield.

In what seemed like an instant, the malicious darkness looming over and around the mountain vanished, and with it all the hatred and evil emitting from its host. Inoko’s power had reverted to normal, as Buu and Gohan landed nearby both speechless at he sight before them. The area was covered in black and crimson, the precious blood of friend and enemy spilled upon the namekian soil without remorse. Inside Inoko’s palm, the dragon ball dripped, the last of Agiel’s blood falling to the ground. Gohan was the first to speak, breaking the awkward silence.

“You must be Inoko.” He stated the obvious, but it was the only thing he could think to say. The boy hadn’t witnessed a death like that in quite some time. Inoko turned to look at the two, recognizing only the pink monster that stood at Gohan’s side.

“Majin Buu.” He muttered as he glanced back at Gohan. “Yes, my name is Inoko Sasuma. I have orders from Raven to make contact with Majin Buu on behalf of the Cursed Legion.” His words lacked the emotion they should have contained, he simply uttered them with the formality they were due on behalf of his master. Gohan nodded in reply.

“Yes, Buu has agreed to come with us to the alliance headquarters on the planet and assist the Legion in acquiring the dragon balls.” Gohan pointed to the glowing glass sphere within Inoko’s grasp. The demon tossed the ball to the teen with confident expectation that he would catch it.

“Very well.” Inoko turned his back to the two before they had a chance to respond. Buu followed the man’s direction and noticed the lifeless body lying in the distance. As his crimson eyes traced the form of the body a memory quickly sparked within his mind. That guy knows me! He thought as he watched Inoko kneel at his side.

“Shiro was ready to fight you Buu.”Inoko muttered as he removed the vest of his fallen colleague and used it to cover the man’s face. There was silence again. Buu’s body had reverted back to its original form, and he stared without words at the general. The battles were over and the dragon ball in the hands of the cursed legion, but there was still the discussion of Agiel to be had. How did he manage to get access to the human world, and who was this Abbadon? All these questions still left unanswered as the triad of warriors waited for their orders. All of them members of an alliance founded by creatures of power and darkness soldiers in an army of great and destructive power. The Cursed Legion.

OOC Notes

+Well I decided to follow up the short post with a terribly long one to save us the time.
+ Agiel has been dealt with and Gohan has the dragon ball. Once you post to get your WC we can call this a done deal!

Chapter Three: The First Step

-1-

The New Addition

The Dragonball was finally in Gohan’s possession, the Cursed Legion was one step closer to achieving their objective. However, as the legion grew closer to their ultimate goal, Gohan took pause. Something about the situation made the young son of Kakarot uneasy. The seeds of good that had been planted upon his arrival were starting to take root. The hybrid could feel his humanity starting to rise to the fore front. Still, now was not the time for self-doubt. Gohan was here to grow stronger and expand his horizons. The Legion was helping him do just that, so acting on this new found sense of regret was pure stupidity.

Well at least now they have one Dragonball, just six more to go. Gohan thought as he walked into the alliance base, Dragonball in hand. That Inoko guy was stronger than I’d expected, from the way Kizura was talking I thought I’d have no option but to fight. Still it’s good to know these guys have started gathering other powerful warriors. Gohan thought as he entered the briefing room where the alliance leadership waited.

“Nicely done Gohan.” Surprisingly Toshin was the first of the assembled warriors to speak up. “You’re indeed a powerful ally and you have earned the rest that you so desire.” Toshin continued as he motioned for Gohan to place the Dragonball on the table.

“Thank you Toshin.” Gohan said as he placed the ball on the table as instructed. “I’ll begin my hunt for the other Dragonballs in a couple of days, in the meantime I assume you’ll have Daikon and Majin Buu go and gather two more?” Gohan’s tone made his words lean more toward being more of a suggestion or even a command, rather than a question.

“Presumably, yes.” Toshin ignored Gohan’s tone and the somewhat irritated expression on the boy’s face. Rest was something the hybrid needed and his efforts today allowed him to get away with a little bit of disrespect. Plus, Gohan wasn’t one to make such behavior a habit.

“Alright then, I’ll be in my quarters if anymore is required of me.” Gohan gave a slight bow before he exited the briefing room.

“That boy has quite the mouth on him doesn’t he?” Wyndara shook her head.

“Indeed he does, but his power is truly magnificent is it not?” Kizura eyed Wyndara.

“Dammit…” Damian muttered as his hands balled into fists. “That kid really is…” The hybrid continued to talk under his breath.

“Gohan has become a Super Saiyan, but the question now is…can he ascend beyond that?” Toshin posed this question to Kizura, the one who trusted the boy the most.

“Of course. Gohan will constantly seek a way to become stronger. Remember his ultimate goal is to destroy Aisu and in order to do that he will needed to ascend. Until then we can continue to count him as an ally and by then the Dragonballs should be ours. So do not worry Lord Toshin, Gohan is with us.” A grin spread across the demon’s lips as he consoled the Makaioshin.

Grader's Notes: Super Buu did an excellent job with his part of the RP. Always using creative imagery and expanding your visual detail from the mind and capitalizing on the depth of the characters. Always a pleasure to read his stuff.

Grader's Notes: Gohan. This guy sucks at RPing. Buu carried him the entire way. [Srsly joking] Sid shows another great writing performance in this thread, depth of character development, NPCs and plot all wrapped in one epic story telling narrative. Truly the One to Rule them All.
