Immersive Force Chapter 4

When we last left out with our ‘Future King’, we saw him in the midst of a damp swamp. He was partnered up with his attendant and only known ally; a specter by the name of Dauturu. They had been following the memories of one of the Saiyans Dabura had killed on the planet and absorbed her ‘Kilis’ named Enola. Her memories spoke of some mystery in the northern part of Planet Vegeta. It dealt with a ghost and a ghastly boat; together they were known as the ‘Soulless Voyager’. Here is where a new body would enter the scene, a Saiyan by the name of Ranjit. Now Ranjit was different than most Saiyans. Where the normal Saiyan found relish in brawling; he found solitude in avoidance. He belonged to a society within the Saiyan culture known as Scavenger Formali. So what does our would be King do with this wayward soul? Dabura enlists him into his ranks.. I mean what Is a King without his ‘House’ of representatives? To add more to the mix… this Saiyan held an item which Dauturu told Dabura about; The Immoral Compass…

This is turning into quite the predicament…”

Dabura said as he walked over to Ranjit who held the device in his hands. He extended his hand as Ranjit passed it along to the Hell Spawn. He took the cloth it was wrapped in and gave it back to Ranjit. Looking over the device he started to formulate thoughts about how this all came to be. He had several variables to the equation and needed to ponder them all.

For starters he finally had intelligence on how to locate The Tethering Soul. This led him to a marsh where he would meet a Saiyan who was in the same location he was, and mysteriously he held a device Dauturu had previously mentioned to Dabura that would unearth the exact location of the Tethering Soul. This would only lead Dabura to believe that it was fate that brought them together and that his choice of not killing Ranjit was the right choice. Had he let Dauturu have his way, he would have never found the device. That was quite the development but he also needed to know exactly why Ranjit was in this location and what was he trying to achieve carrying this demonic device. He mentioned he got it from his grandfather but it all seemed to work out coincidentally… too much for Dabura not to worry over the matter. It could have been just his mind wandering but something was amidst; the Demon just could not tell what.
Noticing that Ranjit held the Immoral compass closely in a styled cloth; the Demon inferred it was a precious commodity to his culture it seemed. He handed it back to Ranjit as Dauturu began to consult with his majesty over the matter.

My majesty, I assure you that this Is not wise. Now I know you were right with picking this child to be part of our ranks and it was an excellent deduction.. but leaving a powerful device in the hand sof some Mortal? The reasoning is clearly beyond me of all ways mi’lord!”

Dabura nodded in acknowledgement of Dauturu’s words. He was right in every way possible over the matter. It was not logical to let the Saiyan hands hold onto such an important artifact. But therein lies where Dabura would make Dauturu see it from his angle.

You see Dauturu… if I let Ranjit hold onto a fabeled artifact that we need and let him know that… it will give him the sensation that I trust him and further put reasonin in his travels with us. This is what mortals call (trust). I observed other Saiyans doing this recently and it earned quite the favorable outcome for the parties inclined. I believe if we truly cannot trust hi8m… we can catch him, kill him and take the artifact from him you see? I also believe that none of this is pure chance. An Artifact you told me about is at the same location of some wayward mystery that is directly involved with the shrine you told me about? It must be what Mortals call fate and to further our interest in the matter this will make sure our new recruit doesn’t decide to flee. Not everything has to be done through sheer force of power and will. We can mold a situation to our liking by sheer mental capacity and besides… I am quite fond of learning about his society and why non earth they have a Demonic device aren’t you? Who knows… this could lead to us unearthing more of this untold power you told me about previously.”

Turn back to Ranjit, he clapped his hands and ushered for the trio to be off. Ranjit thought to himself for a moment while he led the way. He pointed towards a southern way and motioned for the group to slow their pace. Finally they stopped as a single piece of land extended far out into the deepest part of the Marsh. They stayed in the cover of many tree’s as Ranjit began to explain the Saiyan mystery that was spread around since he was a little boy.

The tale of the Soulless Voyager has gone on even in my grandfather’s time. It is said that is the spirit of some Saiyan that was denounced from the time our race took to the Tuffles. He was exiled from our collective tribe and sentenced to this Marsh. It is said that he sailed off from this actual spot alone, where he sailed the Marshes and waters of Planet Vegeta never to be seen again. Some say that if you come to this spot of departure once a week, at 7:00 a.m. you can find a glimpse of the wayward Saiyan who was banished and sentenced on a Voyage on a moderate sized ship he had built himself. They also note that right before he appears… he alarms those of his presence by 3 sharp chimes of his bell. Where he goes after that… nobody knows.”

Why is it that nobody knows?”

Well of all the Saiyans that have went, it is said that they never returned but their ki signatures simply vanished at the sighting of this wayward Saiyan. This is why we call him the Soulless Voyager, a Saiyan that has unearthed the abilities to devour toe souls of those that banished him, well their descendants. It is his glorious respite.”

The tale that Ranjit gave was a classic layout if Dabura ever heard one. The memories of Enola was not quite as in depth as hearing the tale in the flesh. It instilled a sense in him that he hadn’t felt since he first arrived to the Planet, the rush of wanting to learn more. It wasn’t as If recent the Hell Spawn desired to not learn more recently… just that everything had been done lately was regarding to power. Dabura hardly had any time to take in the aesthetics of the Saiyan culture. More and more was he feeling that this Ranjit guy was a well needed addition to his ranks.

Just as Dabura was taking in the decorum of the scenery before him, an larming sound pitched to his giant ears. He closed his ears as he motioned for Ranjit and Dauturu lo still themselves as the scene they sought was about to unfold. Naturally, Dabura was alarmed of the presence of what Ranjit told him first do to his larger ears; the three chimes.

The first chime was almost an audible tone. If the Demon had been talking he would not have heard it himself. The following chime did not commence for a good five minutes. Dabura was starting to get the sense of why other Saiyans would perish and it was simple really. Inbetween the chimes, time seemed to extend to a long sense of time. The impatient nature that a lot of Saiyans ha would not do in this situation.

As the next chime came in, Dabura caught a faint whiff of the sound as it made his ears tingle just a bit as he came forth as if out of nowhere. He began to notice subtle changes in the atmosphere around them that Ranjit would not catch but Daturu could probably tune in to as well. For instance, the wind direction of the wind began to change. From the very beginning he felt the breeze coming from the north and going south, back in the direction he came but when this second bell came; he noticed the Breeze was now heading into the east. This change in wind was also noticeable in the water as small ripples on the surface of the Marsh’s water began to support Dabura’s claim.

The Following Chime was supported by the visual. The moment had arrived where the trio would have their eyes met with a black dot that not only followed the guide of the wind... but seemed to make it. This small spec-sized dot stopped where the a middle line could be drawn in the Marsh’s water, this could be inferred as the middle point, as an implosion occurred. The Winds began to pick up as the water raged in an ominous way, upwards around the dot. After a brief, unnatural occurrence of the wind and water, probably due to this orb’s influence, they had caught a glimpse of it, the glorious boat that the prideful Saiyan had built himself.

The vessel wasn’t an impressive piece of structure. It looked as f it housed 2 to 3 people max. It was made out of wood that was finely patched together through some sheer artwork. For a Saiyan, in that timeline to build such a boat… it was remarkably astounding as they were not known widely for their intelligence. There were a pair of paddles and on the backend of the boat, there was an image coming into display. The visage of a man in pure white drapes, wild and raven hair with beady eyes stood. It was indeed the Soulless Voyager and Dabura needed to watch it closely to know what would be his next move. He motioned for Dauturu and Ranjit to hold their position.

The entire scene, Dabura took a mental note of it. The color of the sky, the wistful swirling of winds and the key factor here; how this being took to creatures of the living. It was a similar tacti8c to how Demons acted with mortals in a sense, just to the utmost extreme. The Soulless Voyager carried an essence that he took from the environment. As with a timed motion of coordination and power, he absorbed the living essence of the air, water, birds and even the plants of the planet. This all coalesced into a stream of life particles that flowed slowly which the ghostly Saiyan then absorbed into it’s being. It was just as Ranjit said… it absolved the life around it and this could have been the reason all the past Saiyans would have died upon instant contact with this scene.

Abura was still not satisfied. He needed more. The intel he gained from just watching was not enough to satisfy his mind and ego. He needed to know how this mere Saiyan could achieve something that most Demons over the course of Eons could not do. He gave a signal to Daturu and Ranjit to keep their selves hidden. The Hell Spawn would go this endeavor Solo. Coming to his feet, Dabua floated off the tree branch in the distance and made his presence aware as he began to descend in the midst of the Soulless Voyager. As his body neared the water the Demon landed on the surface of said Water as he stood just above it with his manipulation over energy. He folded his arms as the ghastly Saiyan turned to meet him. With a wave of the Saiyans hand, it meant to absorb the life force of Dabura.

"tsk tsk tsk.”

The Demon smirked as he engaged the Ghost in conversation while his accomplices looked on. It was then that Dauturu mentioned for Ranjit to use the device his family had, The Immoral Compass. They needed a reading to see if Dabura would be heading into an awry situation so they intended to watch the Kilis level of this Soulless Voyager.

I see…”

A ghastly tone came from the supposed ghost. It spoke of the fact that it’s power did not work on the being in front of him. The way his ability worked was to use the excessive soul of an individual and meddle with its chosen nature. In short, it was to pull the darkest memory, etched into the soul, and make it manifest and turn the Saiyan inside out due to their own dark thoughts. It was a different method to which Dabura and other Demons used to draw upon Kilis but it worked all the same. For it to work, the target needed a soul and since Dabura was indeed one who did not believe in a soul… the ability of this ghost was rendered useless.

It seems although a Saiyan of old, you do have some sort of intellect to you.” The Demon boasted. The smile dropped to his face as he took a step forward. At this point the ghost began to wave its hands in the air as water began to swirl up and begin to break away from the collective water and gush forward, mid-air towards the Hell Spawn.

The water splashed as it reached Dabura as the Demon continued to move forward. The blast of water was another ability the ghost used that Dabura rendered useless. This was due to an ability he gained when he first entered the planet. He now was a pyromancer and had the ability to produce fire freely… so splashing him with water did nothing to him but give him a little drink. Dabura still advanced despite the Saiyan Ghost’s shortcomings.

The Saiyan specter only dealt with other Saiyans. For years he had taken many souls and never had resorted to anything for all of his kin dealt with power and pride. When that failed them they were good as done… but He never truly met one that had abilities that matched and possibly exceeded his own. Much like the Saiyans he had destroyed, he lost his pride. Dabura noticed the desire to keep him away had faded. A cowl had grown over his face as Dabura began to speak.

Your will is now broken only after that much? I understand why you were cast out. You have no pride in yourself and only are a nuisance… even as a dead man. I guess we shall move on to why I am here. I want you to take me and my accomplices to where you dwell. And one of them is a Saiyan… know that death cannot save you for what I have the ability to do. Take us immediately...”

It was known to the Ghost why this being in front of him approached him so. He first figured he was some alienistic shaman seeking to quiet his haunting of the Saiyans after so long. He still didn’t know but he thought to do anything to rid himself of this Saiyan. The Ghost nodded as he began to whirl its own energy, beginning to move its boat around. The motion it sat in had the head of the boat heading south deeper into the mist where it appeared. Dabura looked back to the area where Dauturu and Ranjit were at. They met eyes with the Hell Spawn and sprung forth, landing on the water’s surface just like Dabura had.

Don’t worry Ranjit. I already notified this one. He understands that he has no power over us so he will take us to where I need him to go. Get on board… he will take us there.”

It was here that the trio had joined with the Tethered Soul, temporarily. In a god 30 minutes travel they reached the entrance of a cavern. As the boat neared the shore where the jagged rocks met the water, the material began to dissolve into simply nothing. The Saiyan Soul had left the boat an floated into the cavern. Before he entered he met eyes with Dabura and the Hell Spawn nodded at him that he would comply.

It’s time we enter.” Dabura notified his crew. As they reached the first steps inside the cavern, they noticed a dark tunnel that lead on further in. They could not just trust this Soul for it had already gone far ahead. It could simply betray Dabura and them all and lead them into a blind trap. Dabura had thought of this ahead of time as it made no difference to him; being that he was now a pyromancer and all. As he lit up the inside of the cavern with a simply influx of his powers, the trio followed under Dabura’s tutelage and leadership.

They had finally reached an opening of the tunnel. At this time is when Ranjit had thoughts going through his head. He had met alien forms and even the Saiyan Ghost of Legend and lived through it all. He was reassured safety by this one named Dabura and even promised future power, h needed to further gain the trust and show him that he was not just some coward. Ranjit had gained a bit of resolve as he beckoned to Dabura and Dauturu both.

Ranjit knew full well that if he tried to betray either one of them that he would die, instantly. He saw how Dauturu interacted with Dabura and thought that he should follow suit as the specter treated the Demon with a type of royalty.

Lord, let me lead the way. I would not want anything hindering your greatness. Let me go first to make sure things are good to go in this opening. This Soul has tortured my people for so long and I do not trust him… even if you do…”

Dabura folded his arms as Ranjit bowed before him. He looked over to Dauturu and smiled as he shrugged his shoulders.

Please your highness…”

Dabura stretched out his hand and motion for Ranjit to rise and to lead the way. “You are not as powerless as you think Ranjit. Your spirit was broken earlier but you never lost your resolve. I keep getting reminded that your mettle is worth more than those Saiyans who battle fiercely and courageously… in due time you will surpass them; all you lack is power… lead the way..”

Immersive Force Chapter 4

His words were inspiring. They made some sort of unlit passion spark in the Saiyan known as Ranjit. So the member of the Scavenger Formali took the helm and pressed forward, ushering the way for his lord and fellow inspiration Dauturu the Specter. As they went deeper and deeper into a cavern they realized the Immoral Compass began to go haywire. The meter’s and gauges on the other-worldly device began to completely light up with a range of red and green colors. The signals were signs that the precipice of energy within the cavern’s center was strong and full of negative energy AKA kilis.

An opening started as the trio had met the light given off from a solid torch. This torch was held by the Tethered Soul as he ushered them towards the center of the room. As the reached the ghastly Saiyan, the light seemed to magnify from just it’s torch to lighting every torch in the room. The spirit of the departed Saiyan began to shift from an ethereal form to one of substance, turning into a specter itself. In a matter of minutes a full-fledged Saiyan was standing before them dressed in robes, probably wear of the old times from before the Saiyans gained culture.

My name is Pepoose. I take it that you are here to ask me questions. Step forward… Demon.”
The Tethered Soul had announced himself as Pepoose, a being that has been alive since the time before the Saiyans ruled the planet, way before Titan overthrown the fallen King Vegeta and he called out Dabura not by name; but by race. The Hell Spawn did as the departed Saiyan commanded only to further his own ends. He needed to know several things and wanted to unearth why this soul was doing the things it was… for Ranjit’s sake.

I’ll ignore your prior transgressions my boy as you are indeed Saiyan. It’s as you say that I have questions for you and since you already have the knowledge of what I am, I can get started and right to the point. My name is Dabura, and I have travelled through realms in search of power. My two accomplices are Dauturu and Ranjit, a fellow Saiyan of yours I might add. It’s to my understandings that you had a falling out with your race and were Banished to wander these very swamps. You have the power to disrupt one’s soul and pull out Kilis from and individual against their free will, forcibly killing them. How is a mortal able to wield such an ability that is only gained among the strongest of Demons?”

Pepoose nodded.

I shall start at the beginning. As you know by the Saiyan scum with you, I was thrown out of the main tribe over a millennia ago. At this point I came unto this swamp and built the boat you all rode in on with me. I don’t know what had come over here or how I even knew how to build something so constructive. It was beyond the means of what Saiyans of my time were capable of doing. A voice ringed in my head telling me to come south, to this very location.”

Upon arrival my ship was wrecked due to the massive waters, which are now nothing thanks to time and climate of Planet Plant. I ventured in because there was no other land but I didn’t stop at simply entering; something in my bones told me to venture in deeper and so I did. I found this very room that housed an entity, much like the one you see before your eyes now. It was ghastly and felt alive at the same time. It’s been so long that I forgot exactly what it looked like but it did tell me one thing.”

And that thing was?” Ranjit spoke out of context in anticipation for the findings he had been searching his whole life for.

It told me that if you’re going to believe a crock of a story like that then you all must be dumber then you look!” In a moment a flash of energy burst forward towards the trio. The beams of energy did no harm to the Demon but lifted Dauturu and Ranjit both in the air. Dauturu was just bones and therefor felt nothing but Ranjit was a different matter. Dabura shrugged off the blast with his hands by clapping both palms together, crushing the beam of light. He looked over at Dauturu who swung his mighty cutlass, cutting off the chain of energy that was flowing into him.

Walking to Ranjit’s position, a force of energy appeared which blocked the path of Dabura and Dauturu both. “You see, even us Saiyans are able to adapt over time. I have been rotting here for a millennia and now with this fresh sacrifice you have brought me; I can rest eternally. So what’s it going to be Dabura? What card will you play now? I may not be able to affect you all with my power but, that mortal over there has about 5 minutes tops before his body implodes with Kilis.”

How about a game?”

A smile came before the face of the Demon. A Saiyans life hung in the balance of insanity, death and life and the Hell Spawn was prone to play Devil’s Advocate. A smile came over the face of the ghost. It wasn’t one of happiness but one of disbelief.

A game? Saiyans.. we don’t play games. You two don’t know that but me and even him; though he is in excruciating pain knows that very well. My power may not work on you because your not a mortal but I know fully well that you made sure to point out not to harm him. You completely convinced me that you held some sort of honor in you Demon. Now, now you want to play a game; while his Saiyan’s life hangs by my hands? What are you stupid? This is the guy you told me not to harm remember?”

Um… if I may interject here Ghost man.” Dauturu cackles. At the sametime Dabura gives Dauturu a smile and a nod while he folds his arms. “You have this whole Idea about my King here… and it’s completely asinine of you; but as my lord said you are Saiyan.” Dabura lowers his own head and shakes off the snickering.
“What you see before you is two Immortals. This isn’t to say that we do not live and that we still die much like you- wait. Why the bloody hell are you still here? I still want to know that!

Dauturu; I think you were going somewhere. Do not lose concentration my friend.”

My humblest apologies my King. Now where was I? Oh that’s right. You know full well that your powers over negative energy do not work on us because we are not like you Saiyans; and by that I don’t mean dumb mind you. My king and I are ones who do not fret in the face of danger. We welcome it, cherish it and hold it to a palace that we invite only our dearest of targets. We are those of another Dimension; separate from Hell, heaven and this mortal plane. Simple instances like this may be tough situations to you weaklings but to us… tis nothing more than a game!”

A cackling laugh ensues as Dauturu body ends up leaving in a burning flame that engulfs his weapons and his bare bones down to the simple cloths wrapped around them. “Where did he go?” The Ghost asks noting that the specter with Dabura simply vanished. Dabura shakes his head and shrugs his shoulders.

You see, there is something special about my attendants or should I say those in my house. We abide by certain rules that I hold each and every member to a certain creed and as for Dauturu… I know not where he has gone. He is a specter and also he is from the future. So he knows the outcome of this little fiasco and decided to let me handle it from here on out. He tends to drag things out but that little speech he gave you was his attitude flaring. He believes in some way that you disrespected me. And by disrespecting me, you have also disrespected him. But that’s another tale for another time. Now; how about that game?”

Dabura’s debonair had not fluttered in the face of danger. It was as his attendant had said, Demons and those of another realm did not fear trials such as this; they faced them head on adding stipulations to themselves to make the excitement more riveting and challenging to themselves; hell Demons were all about mischief anyways so why not?

Pick your stupid game already. A grown man playing games…”
Ahh, don’t you forget there are no men here besides Ranjit. I’m a Demon and you’ve already died due to your own weakness. Now the game is that we simply wait.”
That’s it?”
That’s it.
Your Serious?!?”
No my good ghost I’m Dabura, soon to be King of Hell but yes my demeanor is serious. You Saiyans are so serious. Liven up a little. You might live a few millennia if you did!”

After that a small chuckle and the game was on. The object? It was simple, just wait. This was something that Dabura excelled in and quite naturally. By this time he had been alive for nearly 500 times the life of Ranjit and had learned patience the hard way. But for the ghastly apparition known as Pepoose… I wonder how he fared in this situation. He had the upper hand, and Dabura nor his attendant attacked him. He could feel the negative force rise in the soul of Ranjit as he strangled the energy out of him and churned it to match his own hatred but there was nothing over the face of Dabura. He sat and faced the ghostly Saiyan with a cowl over his face. It was the look one gained when they were comfortable without a care in the world yet Pepoose did not know how this was to be. He thought it all out but at some point he had no advantage at all.

His mind wasn’t equipped for this kind of dance. He raced through a quick number of conclusions, which for his Saiyan mind were two different outcomes. They made no sense and so the time began to crack until he noticed that Dauturu had disappeared. He began to go into a panic disregarding the fact that Dabura could have been telling the truth. He ruled that out as he knew Immoral beings had no sense of honor in them and that it was clear to him that Dauturu and Dabura did not care for the life of the Saiyan. When Ranjit was to die they would simply do what they do best, and torture him. He was a ghost that was dead but the minds of Dauturu and Dabura made the dead Saiyan panic with the fear of life again!

In a moment the ghost had loosened his grip upon Ranjit who fell to the ground and Dabura stood up. He raised an eyebrow and stepped forward. Dauturu appeared and Pepoose dropped to his knee’s.

How?” The ghostly Saiyan asked.

Simply my dear boy. I used what you knew against you. I haunted you without doing a thing. Back in my domain we call this… what’s the word? Ahh that’s it, Purgatory! You were so caught up in the fact that Dauturu could still have been here and that I told you that he is pissed so you figured instead of leaving he simply turned himself invisible by some sort of specter ability. Then you relied on the fables about Demons being untrustworthy and liars. I commend your mind for thinking that in this tense situation. Then I ushered the game to start and through a sheer perseverance you own mind began to terrorize your soul… cause that’s all you are. You thought I lied the entire time but not all Demon’s are liars. Everything I told you was the truth. Remember when I said my attendants in my house are catered to take a lot of punishment? Did you pick up on the slight of words I used for the final straw? Well if I did not care about Ranjit’s life; why would I use the plural form of the word and not the singular version? When you did not pick up on that it was all easy from there. As you mortals say; smooth sailing.”

Coughing comes from Ranjit who now comes to his feet. “Are you alright my boy? I knew something was special about you. Not just anybody can survive that kind of pressure. You are a lot stronger than you look. That’s why you are in the house of Dabura the Future King. And I have a present for you for lasting as long as you did.”

Dabura walked through the steps in front of Pepoose the Ghost and Ranjit on how a Demon utilized Kilis. Since the Saiyan ghost was nothing but a mass of negative emotions he was already in energy form. The Hell Spawn absorbed the ghost and with a fraction of the negative energy he gained, he had shared it with Ranjit, bestowing upon him a much greater amount of power than the Saiyan ever thought of.

How do you feel my boy?” Ranjit looked at him and smiled after looking at his hands while on his knees. “When do I get to do that again?” Dabura chuckled. “Come on Ranjit. Let’s take you back to our haven so you can rest. Your mortal body can only take so much rest. In the coming weeks I will teach you all there is to know about a Demon and then some.”
