All Roads Do Not Lead to God Jesse Duplantis Never Let an Element of Truth Distract You From the Truth I don't knock other religions about their ability to help people out sometimes. I've read some of their books. After all, I wanted to know what they had to say. And do you know what I found out? Many aren't that bad. Some offer wisdom and insight about mankind. Some teach moral principles that are not unlike Christianity's. Some stress peace; others stress love. Some offer techniques to calm you down if you're having a rough day and help you get through difficult mental situations. The problem with the books and teachings of other religions is that, as good as they sound, they won't get you to heaven. You see, God won't allow anyone to discount His plan - Jesus - in favor of another and still get to heaven after death - not you, not me, not anybody! God bound Himself to His Word when He sent Jesus, so He won't put His stamp of approval on a book that deceives people into thinking that Jesus' blood doesn't count. That is why some religious books, no matter how old and seemingly important, are just like other self-help books on the shelf at the bookstore. They have elements of truth, but they aren't the truth. I don't care if their principles date back before the time of Christ - that still doesn't make them the truth! And that's the big difference when it comes to getting in line with God. After all, what is the point of adhering to a religion's code if you end up going to hell when you die anyway? If I'm going to hell, I don't want to do it sticking to some nice-sounding religion's rules! Do you? No way, that's crazy! |
