This is a praise and a lesson all in one.

Last week there was a tornado south of us and when the storm got to our place, all we got was strong winds and rain. We have our corn planted across our field and it was all laid down by the wind. Even one of the trees by the garden was broken off. My husband and I walked over and surveyed the damage and decided there was just too much corn to try and "prop" back up and hopefully all the ears of corn would still ripen.

The next day when Dennis came in from work at 4, he said that the corn was standing up. I told him there was no way because I was over there at noon and it was laying down. So off we went to check the corn and sure enough, it was standing up straight. Dennis said it followed the sun.

We thanked the Lord for such a miracle and that our corn crop was saved. Now since that time, we've heard that corn will sometimes do that. Well, praise God, I still think it's a miracle.

Now for the lesson: that corn had been on my mind and the Lord showed me this: The corn was straightened because it followed the sun. The sun strengthened the corn, made it's roots tighten in the soil as the soil dried.
When the winds of life blow us down, we sometimes lay there helpless until we come to the Lord. We have to follow the Son. As He shines in us, our faith is tightened and strengthened and until we are once again on our feet thru His strength. Now we just need to learn to follow the Son all the time and the winds that blow won't weaken our faith.

I never thought a corn patch would be a lesson in living for Christ, but it is.

God bless,
Chris
