Stace, thanks for the question. Although we have to let our “emotions” settle down as such, we don’t go by our emotions or our “faith” to forgive or receive forgiveness. Jesus spoke clearly when He said in Matthew 6:14 “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:” but He then goes on with Matthew 6:15 “But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” This sounds like a “commandment” to me. No “emotions” and/or no “faith” involved, just pure unadulterated forgiveness. Ask for and give out, or in other words “receive and give”. I pray that this answers your question. Bill |
