"You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to honor and glory. Whom have I in heaven but You? And I have no delight or desire on earth besides You. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the Rock and firm Strength of my heart and my Portion forever." Psalm 73:24-26

As we read these words, we are faced with the confidence that is placed in the Lord. The writer of this Psalm recognized the comfort of allowing the Lord to guide them for as they are faithful to follow His counsel then the Lord will receive them to honor and glory. This person's eyes are fixed upon the Lord and all they desire is in Him.

Is there not a burning in our own hearts to follow after the Lord, to give Him our all? Despite our own weaknesses, we know of the promises given to us by and through our Lord and we rest not on our own strengths but upon His. This is the peace we have, when we lean not on our own understanding but trust in Him who is our Rock and salvation. It's being able to snuggle up into our Daddy's arms when the going gets tough and saying, "I need You." It's being so in love with Him and putting Him above everything else that enables us to know how endless His love is towards us and how much He wants to guide us on the right path.

Lord, help each one of us come to this place of such great confidence in You that we recognize You as our all in all, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
