v 10 He that loveth his brother [who has love for his brother] abideth in the light [is in the light], and there is none occasion of stumbling [there is no cause of error] in him.

Isn’t this a great verse? All we have to do is love our brother(s) and we abide in the light and don’t cause any stumbling in him. It is a GREAT verse of scripture, but it goes much deeper than a surface reading.

Can I love my brother or sister with just a surface love, with just words from my lips? Can I say to their face “I love you” and then turn and forget them? This ‘love’ is a passionate burning desire deep within my bones, a burning desire than cannot be contained to reach out to my brothers and sisters, wrap my arms around them and show them the love of the Father and His son Jesus. The light is the glory of the Lord of which I have no need to try and even describe.
