"For the grace of God (His unmerited favor and blessing) has come forward (appeared) for the deliverance from sin and the eternal salvation for all mankind. It has trained us to reject and renounce all ungodliness (irreligion) and worldly (passionate) desires, to live discreet (temperate, self-controlled), upright, devout (spiritually whole) lives in this present world. Awaiting and looking for the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One), Who gave Himself on our behalf that He might redeem us (purchase our freedom) from all iniquity and purify for Himself a people [to be peculiarly His own, people who are] eager and enthusiastic about [living a life that is good and filled with] beneficial deeds." Titus 2:11-14 As I read these verses I was so impressed with the knowing that many of God’s people have not locked on to what is being said here. They have accepted the first verse, “For the grace of God (His unmerited favor and blessing) has come forward (appeared) for the deliverance from sin and the eternal salvation for all mankind,” but have not accessed the grace that has been given to us to renounce ungodliness and that enables us to live righteous lives before the Lord! How many of God’s people are caught up in their daily lives, more consumed with seeking blessings than looking forward to the glorious appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ? How many of us live our lives knowing that we are not our own for we have redeemed by the blood of the Lamb and are now His and, as such, should be living our lives reflecting Whose we are. God sent His Son not only to redeem us to Himself but so thought we might be changed into the image of Christ by the renewing of our minds to His mind and this is a very attainable goal because of the grace that has been given to us. Through grace we have access to the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is ready to train us how to walk in godly ways and to turn away from worldly things, to present ourselves as His own, set apart from things of this world, a peculiar people, glorifying God through His Son Jesus Christ. This is where God wants you and I to be, walking in the footsteps of His Son, not seeking our own pleasures but striving more and more to be like Jesus, our Redeemer, our Brother and our Friend. Oh, how the world needs Jesus and He is right there in everyone of us that has accepted Him as our Lord. How well are we doing at introducing Him to the world? How often have we allowed Him to use our hands and feet, our voices, our actions to be representative of Him to touch the lives of others? How deep is our appreciation for what He has done for us that we serve others in His name or are we still looking for selfish gain? Oh, Lord, search our hearts and show us where we fall short then train us by showing us how to access the grace You have given so that we might truly be Your people showing Your characteristics and be found as a bride without spot and blemish when Your Son returns, in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. |

Great verse...... His grace has appeared now.... Ya know, as God's children, in our hearts we want to do good, be able to trust and obey God no matter the reprocussions that may arise from our being obedient. What caught me was that in and of ourselves as we grow, we cannot do what we want to do... But the promise in the verse just gave alot of hope to me today...A promise of His grace that is given NOW not when we get to heaven or when we have been in the ministry for 50 years.... but Now no matter where you are in your walk with Him, His grace is given to you for you to do good, and obey and be able to trust Him... Thank you Lord for your grace that you have given to us to please You. We can't do it ourselves. Thank you for your word that promises that You have given us the ability to please you today!!!! Thank you.... BLessings to you both... Kay |

Amen, Kay! Thank You Lord for Your grace that You have given us to please You! Truly, we cannot do it ourselves and there is such a peace that comes recognizing that He has enabled us to be pleasing to us. The Lord delights in us. Isn't that incredible!!! May He be blessed this day and may He richly bless you and yours. Love, Joan |
