They were masters. Yes, the best of the best. They were experts at the growing the most beautiful roses. They'd gathered together at the Garden of the King to present their best masterpieces to be the one from among many chosen to grow beside the King's Throne.

There, all lined up in rows, were the deepest reds a person could imagine, the brightest yellows, the sweetest pinks, the purest of purest whites, and more. All the colors and variations of the rainbow were on display that day.

The noise and clamor in the Gardens was steady as the visitors walked through and admired the many masterpieces. The masters stood close to their roses to keep watch over their presentations, checking their watches often in preparation for the time of the King's arrival. Soon the King would arrive and honor the master of the most beautiful rose.

A single instrument in the orchestra could be heard as the musicians took their seats. Visitors began leaving the floor to take their sets. Masters took one more look at their roses to see they were perfectly presented.

The King was here.

Surrounded by His family and court members, the King smiled as He approached the floor where all the roses were displayed for His examination.

The orchestra began a sweet melody of music as the King walked slowly down the vast isles. The congregation of people were silent, and every rose stood straight and strong as if to call to Him.

He walked slowly, turned at the end of the first row, and began down the second. All eyes were upon Him. No one seemed to breath.

Suddenly, He stopped. He walked over to a large flowering, deep red rose to get a closer look. The master standing near his rose turned pale with nervousness. The King reached out and with His arm, moved the branches of the rose aside, peeking to see what was behind the bush.

There, behind the beautiful rose, was a small white wildflower, somehow overlooked in all the beauty.

The King stared at the small flower for a minute. Then His eyes lit up.

He proclaimed:

"You, so simple among all this beauty, I have chosen you, the hidden and unseen, the simple and untended who endures against the odds to survive and remain in the Garden of the King. I choose you to be placed at the side of My Throne."

Hi Stacie,

Wow! That was powerful. Reminded me of the picture of the flower that was playing "peek a boo" that you posted in Kay's corner.

"(God chooses the simple to confound the wise)" That verse has always given me hope.

Thank you,
Joan

Hey

Long and wonderful day down here for us. Kay and I closed, that is.. really closed the office and left. We took our cameras and headed to the parks..

I was hunting...
roses...
and wildflowers

I will post a couple of pics when I can. (I only took about a hundred)

You know, what I did notice was that the roses were all in "beds," not growing wild, but the beautiful wild flowers were everywhere.

They are free, without a hedge around them, or hinderances (some even grow in the middle of the sidewalk.. lol)

anyway..

I'll go fix a pic.

Oh, Stacie, I like your picture you took! You have a great camera! It picks up everything, even the viens in the leaves. Mine won't do that at all.

One thing about roses, they have a hedge of protection from predators, like goats and animals who like to eat them. They just can't protect themselves from us humans. heehee

Stacie was out hunting! *grins*

It's really hard to write with two cats in front of my keyboard! Tika is like Tigger, or a basketball. Put her on the floor, and she bounces right back up here. *boing*

Hmmm...guess thats why He chose me....simple. :)

Thanks Stacie!

It is so important that we remember that simple is the way to go. When we start making things complex and start trying 'figure' out God and what we think He is doing now or will be doing etc we always run into trouble, always. Because at that very moment we have taken our eyes off Him and placed them on us.

Blessings!
