Scenario: The young, bright student walked up to the professor and stated with exasperation, "Okay, I did what you said to do. I prayed in the spirit after asking for an interpretation, and then I trusted, and then I heard, 'The next time I go to the store I need to buy dish soap." Thinking for a moment, the professor asked, "Well, do you need dish soap?" "Yes" she replied. "But, I was asking the Lord what I was to do with my life." "Oh," The professor stated. "Well, lets sit down and see what is going on." ------------------------------------ What is the professor suppose to tell her? How does one 'teach' these things? What say ye? shalom stacie |

Instead of focusing on the "dishsoap", the student should be open to what God might want to do. There could be a person on the row the soap is on that God wants them to minister to. That happened to me Sunday after church. I said God where would You like to go to eat, me eat that is. lol and He goes with me. He said Jack in the box on rundburg. And He said leave your mp3 player in the car, you won't need it. I thought thats odd. But, then I thought maybe there was someone He wanted me to minsiter to. There was. I sat down with my food and there was this homeless christian lady, though I didnt know it at the time. Strangest thing, I waved at her. I don't know why I waved at her, but I did. It was my spirit directing me to wave. I ended up sitting at her table and ministering to her. God told me to give her twenty dollars, so I did. So, one little thing of obediance can lead to all sorts of ministry opportunities. Love ya, Caroline |

Hi Stacie Interpretation is the establishment of meaning: an explanation or establishment of the meaning or significance of something Learning to interpret what God is revealing or saying to us through our dreams and thoughts requires our full attention and a knowledge and understanding of Him. It requires the discipline of doing as we hear the Holy Spirit says. For instance, early in my learning to discern and interpret training I was leaving for work one morning. Our cat was laying in the neighbors driveway. I heard a 'voice' say" get the cat" I ignored it. We never saw the cat again. A hard lesson for me to swallow. Every now and then the Holy Spririt will remind me of that incident to nudge me into obedience. The point is this. It is not the dishsoap that matters, it is the obedience. In this scenerio God may have no other purpose other than for her to get the soap and He is just reminding her that she needs it. What Caroline shared is also true. Often God will tell us to go here or there or do this or that. We have a choice to go and do or not. As we are learning to discern His voice and obey the prompting of the Holy Spirit we may find that we go and do many things that have no rhym or meaning to us. Then one day, as Caroline shared, we will find ourselves moving in tune to the urging of the Spirit. We will go where we are led and do as He leads and He will touch many others through us. If we are willing He will order our day right on down to the underwear we ought to be wearing. The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord So to answer your question: How is this taught, how would you disciple someone in this area? Well I would encourage them to do as they hear as long as it does not violate scripture and trust God to show them along the way. Being faithful in small things leads to greater things. Next time He may tell her to go to Africa or somewhere, He needs to know she will obey. Hope this helps! Love ya Barb
