Stace It's so good I just wanted to post a little more. Love, Joe John 3 3] Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. [5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. [6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. [7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. [8] The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. [11] Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. [12] If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? [13] And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. [14] And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: [15] That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. [20] For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. |

Meet you on the boards. Meet you in the air! Love, Joe Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (1 John 4:10) Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. (Psalms 51:10) Pray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:17) "When I get on my high horse, I usually find Jesus rides off on his donkey." | |

Hi all, This thread caught my eye since John 3:16 is one of my most favorite verses in the Bible, if not THE favorite one. We can memorize the entire Bible, citing ever verse within it, but if we do not know the truth of John 3:16 and have it living in our hearts, all of it is just information stored in the memory bank of our minds. It is knowing of God's abundant, unending love for us that existed in the very beginning of creation, going forth in the written pages of Genesis through Revelation, seeing His love unfold with every page, behind every word breathed with revelatory life from the Holy Spirit, glory to God. It was this same love that moved Him to send His Son, the sacrificial Lamb for all time, for the remission of our sins so that we could be restored back in fellowship with Him. Oh, what love, our minds cannot grasp but our spirits can understand as we accept Jesus as our Lord, the propitation of our sins. This Love offered His greatest treasure, His Beloved Son, to step in where no animal sacrifice, no works of the hands could accomplish, to make us right before our Creator, our God, our heavenly Father. This Love was so high, so wide, so deep that He was willing to offer pay the highest price ever, the very life of His dear son. Often times we will hear that people sacrifice themselves all the time for others. We have those in military who are willing to do this for the sake of others and, truly this is commendable. This is the highest honor given to any man, woman or child, to give their life for another. But with this said, there is no one who has endured all the pain, the weight, the shame, the darkness that our Lord Jesus did. What father or mother would allow their child to knowingly suffer all that Jesus did so that those who are in sin could be washed as white as snow? To be honest, if God asked this of me with one of my children I think I would be down on my knees asking God if there isn't an alternate plan. To knowingly send Your beloved Son, not only to suffer but to take all the sickness of the world upon His back, all our infirmities - not just those at that moment, but those yet to come? And sin, to allow ALL the sins of the world to be laid to His charge, those that begin in the garden and continue on through all the ages to come upon one man, Your Beloved Son? I just cannot imagine. Not only was the love of the Father so great towards His Son and those He created, but how great was the love of the Son towards the Father and towards mankind. How mind boggling is that! That Jesus would consent to suffer as He did out of love for our heavenly Father and our of love for us! Yes, it is only in knowing of the Father's unfathonable love towards us that will touch our very hearts, opening wider and wider to Him, to His Son and to His Holy Spirit and in so doing, changing us, step by step, for evermore. Hallelujah!!! For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Thank You Lord. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!! Gratefully His, Joan |
