I adopted a homeless dog about 5 days ago. Someone dumped it by my yard. They must have seen all the dogs in the area and thought someone with a dog might take her in. But, no one took her. Possibly because she has red mange. Not badly, but it would have spread all over and she would have given it to other dogs. Soooo, I took her in. Researched on the net what kind of mange she had, and began treatments to kill the mites. I "just happened to have" the treatments for any kind of mites, though it says for saracoptic mange, scabies if people get it from a dog. But, I think this kind only dogs get. I wash my hands in antibacteria soap every time I touch her mange, after petting her or treating her. She had it really bad on her neck, and I treated her twice, and the next day I was going to treat her there again, when I noticed the skin was no longer red, and how the heck did her hair grow back in 27 hours!!!?? God healed her!!! Wowzer!!! My first quickie healing on "someone" else. Her red spots are turning back to their natural color.

When I had to treat my neigbors cat with this, it took three weeks for his skin to be completely normal. He had lost his appitite and wasn't eating, and after he was cured he started eating like a dog and he gained a lot of weight. Now he needs to go on that show "loser" or whatever it's called, about people competing to lose weight. I always watch it. You'd think I could remember the name! LOL OH yeah, "the biggest loser". That's the name of it. It just came to me. God helps me have recall even on dumb stuff. :woopi

I named her Dodee. It was Dodie. but that has die in it, so um.. no. I changed it to dee. I was thinking, I need a human female name for her since shes' a dog not a cat. And the name Dodie Osteen came to me. LOL No idea why the last name stuck with me like that. I'm not nameing her the full name. Don't want to offend anyone. But Dodie has die which means death, so I changed the i to a ee, so it's Do-dee. She looks like a miniture American pit bull terrier. She's about half the size of what the female one is. She's mostly terrier. She acts like a 5 year old terrier. Thin coat and tail like a pit bull terier. Shes' brown with a large white spot on her neck, and smaller white spots on her neck and head. She's an alarm dog. If anything comes in the yard she barks. She has kind of a deep bark for a small dog. She weighs 19 lbs, but I want her to gain about 3 lbs because her ribs are showing. Terriers are skinny, but not that skinny! I don't ribs should be showing like that.

I love the internet! I was able to do research and look up stuff on terriers and pit bull terriers. Plus I had a book on puppies when I got my last dog that was run over at 2 years old.

I don't have a pic of her yet. I need to take a pic of her with my webcam next time shes' in the house. The cats don't much care for a "horse" taking over "their territory". I had to teach them to "dont' run!" If they dont' run, she won't chase them or bother them. It will be good training for them to be with her. They will learn not to run from a coyote, but to stand still (and see the salvation of God) frizz up and just look scary, but DON'T RUN! Otherwise they chase you and kill and gobble you up. (if you're a cat that is) Do-dee alerts them when there is a dog around, so she will alert them if there is something way more scary than a dog, like a coyote, so they can go hide and not even have to deal with it.

Cats are so self-centered. LOL They see a coyote and they won't "bark" and alert the "family"; they just go hide for themselves. Dogs share the information with everyone! Though from their point of view I'm sure it's not at all what they are doing.

It is cool to hear about your dog and such. Do, please, do a picture when you can. I am so greatful that the Lord healed the mange.. cool.. cool.

My dog is the best at alerting me when anyone is around.. I mean anyone.. and she is really cool and considerate of everyone.. she alerts everyone.. me, the neighbor behind me, the one across the street, and even the police department 3 miles away..

:toofunny

she is even wise.. she barks before they get here..

but she is my baby, and gee.. what is wrong with a full grown adult going around saying, "shhhhhhh" all the time? Who has a problem with that?
