Tech support: Are you running it under windows? Customer: "No, my desk is next to the door, but that is a good point. The man sitting in the cubicle next to me is under a window, and his printer is working fine." Unquote-- You know, I remember when I first signed onto my computer years ago. Hehhehe, I signed on, found the web in front of me, and then clicked one button. The computer screen rushed to the page (as fast as that old dial up modem could go.. seemed really fast way back then, of course I made coffee while waiting, but I thought that was normal, I mean .. wasn't my computer traveling across the line to another state? ) Anyway, I got the page and felt like I had done something great. I clicked close and signed off. I sat back in my chair and felt I had done something great.. whew. It was a big thing for me back then. It took me a few more days before I signed on again. And then, there's the unplugging I did. I would unplug it every night because I had been told that the computer could turn itself back on, dial up, and share all your information.. (I didn't have any information on it that was worth stealing.. still don't) but I still would unplug it every night. lol And, then... there was the nightmare of Windows 3.1 and it's program manager. I was running 525 mg hard drive (wow things have changed) and somehow clicked the wrong button and Every Single One Of My Windows opened up in front of me.. boom boom.. it was happening at a thousand miles an hour... I thought it would explode. I remember even getting up from my desk and stepping back.. what? did I think the files would overflow into my lap or something? lol Anyway, We've come along way these days. But, lets always remember that there are some who are brand new to these machines, maybe not many, but there are some.. And, never underestimate the wisdom of the youth.. lol.. they know a whole lot about computers. And.. most of all.. Let's thank our Lord for them, we can connect with each other with these things. Otherwise, I might not be blessed as much as I am by knowing you. stace |
