Psa 77:11 I will remember the works of the LORD;
Surely I will remember Your wonders of old.
Psa 77:12 I will also meditate on all Your work,
        And talk of Your deeds.

Sometimes when I get in a fix, and the situation is bearing down on me fast, and that sudden rush of adrenaline rushes throughout my body...

I can hear the Holy Spirit say, "Check the List." Then, I immediately go into my file cabinet of my heart and mind and begin remembering how the Lord got me out of this situation, or that one.

and

How many times I would have felt better if I had just trusted Him to begin with.

This thread is for those rememberances He has given us.

Want to share them?
I do. And I want to hear about your experiences of things we should remember.

Hi Stace,

When I saw this heading I thought it was in reference to 9/11 but see that it is not. But I think it is a good place to share on the remembrance of September 11, 2001 as I believe it is a time, an event the Lord would have us not forget.

Life here in America changed for us. Whether it came about through God's judgment or simply was an attack of the enemy, God was fully aware of what was taking place and His heart grieved over it. Innocent lives were lost. We were violated in a way this country had never been violated before. I wish we could say that we were without sin but we all know that is not true. How long has this country been shedding innocent blood for the sake of convenience, aborting the lives that were found in our wombs? Oh, our heavenly Father had/has much reason to cry over this nation, a nation that has been blessed by His hand.

Most of us will never forget that day five years ago. It is imbedded on our minds forever. Nor should we forget for a piece of our armour, the armour of God that had protected us for so long, was missing and many lives were lost because of it. I believe God would have us not forget anymore than He wants the people of Israel to forget their crossing the Red Sea or the plagues that touched Egypt. There is a lesson in all of this and God would have us meditate on that, He's asking America to reflect on the reality of it's standing with Him, on it's standing with the world, so that we might see where we stand or are failing to stand. God desires mercy over judgment but His mercy is only given when we repent of our error and turn back to Him. Judgment is already set in place. It sits in the universe with all of God's laws and precepts. The law of gravity was in place with the creation of the world. While we might defy that gravity, it does not change the truth and law of it. His laws were set in place not to harm or limit us but to protect and insure us of a long life.

No, 9/ll will not be forgotten in the minds and hearts of those who saw the planes flying into the twin towers or saw the bodies of people jumping out of the windows because of the intensity of the heat those burning planes brought. We will not forget the smoke coming from the Pentagon as another plane found its mark, nor the field in Pennsylvania where a plane crashed, sent off course by brave men who knew the object of the terrorists were to hit the White House. Nor will we forget those tall towers of strength, symbolism of our great nation and it's wealth. when they came crashing down upon themselves, taking precious lives down with them. No, we will not forget that date nor the precious lives that were lost, whether Jew, Christian, Moslim, Hindu, etc., each was precious in God's sight and in His heart He longed for each one to have known Him as He knew them, wanting their fellowship through the salvation that was offered all mankind through His Beloved Son, Christ Jesus. I believe He wept on that day His Son suffered all He did upon the cross but He also had the hope that His Son had, that Jesus' death was not in vain, that many would come to their heavenly Father through the saving grace that was offered them through His Son, Christ Jesus. And I believe He wept that day when lives were snatched before their purposes had been fulfilled upon this earth, wept because many never knew Him and the opportunity to do so was lost forever, and this was an even greater sorrow than He knew over 2,000 years ago.

Last night I watched a program that reported Osama Bin Ladin as saying, "It cost me $500,000 to bring about that attack. It has cost them $500,000,000 to repair it (paraphrasing)." I'm sure in his mind and in the minds of his fellow Muslim they believe Alla was on there side. And I know there are many people here in America who are wondering where God was in all of this. He was right there with us as He always is. But it is us who were away from Him as a nation. Yes, there are many Christians throughout America, faithful Christians who did not turn away from God when all of this happened. Rather, they allowed this tragedy to be turned into good, by extending God's love to the hurt who were out there. Churches recognized the need to seek God all the more, to reach out into the communities and they did - for awhile. But after the smoke cleared and some sort of normalcy returned to our land the need to seek the Lord seemed to fall from their minds. This should not be so!!! We need to remember what happened on 9/ll and be honestly aware that it can happen again if we continue to snub our nose at God, forgetting that it was His goodness that brought such blessing to this land to begin with. History shows us that whenever Israel turned her back on God and allowed foreign gods to be honored and lustful pleasures to be fulfilled great calamity came to it's people. We have seen it happen to our own land that hails itself as "one nation under God." He is not the god of Buddha nor is He the god of the Muslims. He is the Great I Am and He will not have other gods before Him. That is His right. He created us, He formed us so our allegiance should be to Him, should it not? Once the God of Scripture is reduced to our "personal preference" we can be assured that we have stepped out of His realm of safety and protection and whatever happens to us is not His fault but is the result of our own rebellious ways, turning away from Him who created us and turning to that which will, eventually, destroy us if we continue on that path.

I pray we will rise up to be the people He has called us to be, seeking Him above all else and receiving His endless love that desires to protect and encourage us to become mature sons and daughters of our Most High God. It is not too late to do this. He's not looking for perfection but He is looking for repentent hearts that recognize His goodness and our own weakness which is in need of Him. Oh, Jesus, help us to be this people, in Your name I pray, that our heavenly Father could be glorified through You and through us as we walk in Your footsteps. Let it be so. Amen.

Remembring,
Joan

Well, this is someone else's rememberance, but it is still a really nice testimony of our Lord's ability to watch over us in all kinds of circumstances.

Steve Shultz wrote an article yesterday about what was learned from the attack. In his article, he told about this testimony.
Quote:

One prophet just days ago, told me of a story of a window washer, stuck in an elevator with men in suits as the plane hit the tower. When the elevator stopped between floors, he was the only one who knew just where they were stopped. Without lights, this window washer used the only hardware on him, and cut a hole in the elevator, allowing all of the executives, male and female, to crawl out under the men's restroom sink, known only by the "blue collar" worker. All those stuck in the elevator survived because this one man was prepared. God had done the preparation. God was demonstrating His Grace---He was the pre-determined answer to many families who would pray as the towers burned.

The Lord is always watching out for us. :praisegod
