Well, for about two weeks, ever since I did my laundry one day and noticed that my bright and colorful shirt was fading because I sweat so much when I labor outside, I have been asking the Lord for some new shirts. Now, this is where yard sales come in so great. One can pick up some shirts to work in for about .50 cents each. I like that. It keeps me in an "easy come -- easy go" mode and I don't get so attached to a shirt that I refuse to wear it because I might ruin it. Well, that is exactly what happened, I wore my shirts and they faded. The salt in my body sweats into the material and fades the shirts. After a while, it becomes very obvious that the shirt is faded. Now that you have had that 'sweating lesson,' let me go on. While I have been asking the Lord about shirts, Kay has been asking Him about a 'stainless steel mesh colander' to grow bean sprouts in for the birds. Bean sprouts for the birds are an inexpensive way to feed them a gourmet meal. They love the newly sprout shoots and the shoots are good for them. So, anyway, yesterday, the three of us girls, Mel, our sister, Kay, and myself, (commonly called the three sisters,) set out to see an Orchid Show in Lakeland. Mel was able to get a little baby Orchid for 4.00. Pretty cool. And, we also headed to the Lakeland mall. Well, Dillards had a sale. I was able to get four nice colorful Florida shirts that were on sale for less than 35.00. Yep.. at Dillards. Get down! That is a great price for good quality. (God is so good) And, we went over to the pots and pans section where they had a colander too ... but at 25.00. Uh.. no way. We are not going to spend 25.00 on a colander. So, we went on. We had a beautiful day. While our sister Mel was getting her hair cut, Kay and I just sat and watched the people walk through the mall. We looked at things the way the Lord sees them. We saw a lot of 'temporal' things going on oppressing the people, but that is another post. After Mel was finished, we went to get something to eat and then headed back to our home town. Mel's husband was home from his day trip and it was time to make a bee-line home. First, Mel had to drop Kay and I off. But, as we entered into town, Mel said something about one more stop at the supermarket. She needed some small items for a Sunday dinner. We agreed. We needed vegetables for the birds. So, we all picked up those little items we needed and rushed to get out of there and back home. We got some vegetables, some tea, bread, colander, apples, and lots of little quick things. We were in a rush. Mel rushed to drop us off and off she went. Weekends are precious to her because her man is home. Well, I was sitting here contemplating the things the Lord was showing us at the mall when I got this little quickening about this little item that had been on Kay's heart to have. The colander. Yep.. it was at the supermarket. So I reviewed the steps again. We three girls are having a girls day out. Mel's husband is out with the men. He comes home, it's time to close the adventures and head home. No colander yet. Let's do the colander another day. Okay, agreed. Zip home? Okay, agreed. Home we go. Mel says, "quick stop at the supermarket okay?" (a slight deviation off the planned path) We say okay, agreed. The colander is at the supermarket for less than five dollars. That "deviation" to the plan was a smooth act of God. I got my shirts. Mel got her baby Orchid. Mel's husband gets a turkey dinner today (sunday). And Kay got her colander that was being rescheduled for another day. I think the Lord is pretty cool. stace

Thanks for sharing. The sweating lesson was funny and feeding a gormet meal to the birds definitely sounds like Kay lol. I do like birds and I think that's really cool. |

Ha! Ha! I'm out of breath just reading it! Have fun! Love, Joe "She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness." (Proverbs 31:27) |

Meet you on the boards. Meet you in the air! Love, Joe Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (1 John 4:10) Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. (Psalms 51:10) Pray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:17) "When I get on my high horse, I usually find Jesus rides off on his donkey." | |
