I am back to drawing! I'm drawing from a photo a little black boy I found in a BVOV Magazine from a year ago. I think he's five, but sad because he is an orphan and has HIV. He lives in South Africa, and these ppl take in the HIV and Aids children up to age five. I usually draw from other ppl's drawings because of still not able to draw from a photo. But, I was drawn to this boy, his lips and his mouth and eyes, and I want to draw him. I have his right eye drawn!!!! Complete. Ya know how I am. I draw the eye first get it all correct, then move to the nose, then the other eye, then the mouth, and then can't remember if it's ear or head. I can't draw any other way. I tried to do an outline first of the face and got the porportions all wrong, and said nah, I'm going to start with the eye. It's too hard trying to study more than one thing at a time. I can just concentrate on one feature at a time, kinda like taking one day at a time. If you look a week ahead and try to figure out everything you're gonna do, you can get swamped, or get a feeling of being overwhelmed with too much. It's easier to take one thing at a time if it's something you are still learning. Mat 6:34 "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today. (NLT) Wow, I didn't mean to write a short devotional for artists. LOL |

:lol: Hi Caroline, Glad to hear you are back to drawing. We will be looking forward to see the picture of this young boy when you are done, paying special attention to his right eye, the beginning of the masterpiece. LOL Have fun with it. Hey! Glad to hear you are back at it. Wanna see it when you can post it. I have been working on a scratchboard again. Oh and am I frusterated with it LOL It don't look like I want it to look. But Stacie says that it looks good. How in the world do you like something that doesn't look like the way you want it to look???  I will post it in a new thread later.. Blessings, Kay |

I'll scan it and post it when I'm done. Art never comes out the way you intended, I know that's true. Sometimes it's better and sometimes it seems not. I'm getting a wacom tablet in about a month. I look forward to being able to draw in digital and being able to use Paint Shop Pro and Photo Shop to add color. I get to graduate from black and white to color!! Yaaaay!

  glad to hear your finally getting one. They are great... How anyone in thier right mind thought you can actually draw with a mouse is weird LOL.... It is so hard to do. Waiting for the finish drawing! Kay |
