Just found this on the net and thought I would share. This is from CNN.com We know of the lies of the evil one, we see them daily. We need warfare on this one to prevent it from ever coming to life. We know OUR LORD JESUS is alive and well on the right hand side of the Father. So put on the Armour of God and lets go to battle. This is a war we will win, for the Lord is at our side, better He that is in us, than he that is in the world. February 23, 2007 6:55 Jesus: Tales from the Crypt Posted by Tim McGirk | Comments (2242) | Permalink | Trackbacks (0) | Email This Brace yourself. James Cameron, the man who brought you 'The Titanic' is back with another blockbuster. This time, the ship he's sinking is Christianity. In a new documentary, Producer Cameron and his director, Simcha Jacobovici, make the starting claim that Jesus wasn't resurrected --the cornerstone of Christian faith-- and that his burial cave was discovered near Jerusalem. And, get this, Jesus sired a son with Mary Magdelene. No, it's not a re-make of "The Da Vinci Codes'. It's supposed to be true. Let's go back 27 years, when Israeli construction workers were gouging out the foundations for a new building in the industrial park in the Talpiyot, a Jerusalem suburb. of Jerusalem. The earth gave way, revealing a 2,000 year old cave with 10 stone caskets. Archologists were summoned, and the stone caskets carted away for examination. It took 20 years for experts to decipher the names on the ten tombs. They were: Jesua, son of Joseph, Mary, Mary, Mathew, Jofa and Judah, son of Jesua. Israel's prominent archeologist Professor Amos Kloner didn't associate the crypt with the New Testament Jesus. His father, after all, was a humble carpenter who couldn't afford a luxury crypt for his family. And all were common Jewish names. There was also this little inconvenience that a few miles away, in the old city of Jerusalem, Christians for centuries had been worshipping the empty tomb of Christ at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Christ's resurrection, after all, is the main foundation of the faith, proof that a boy born to a carpenter's wife in a manger is the Son of God. But film-makers Cameron and Jacobovici claim to have amassed evidence through DNA tests, archeological evidence and Biblical studies, that the 10 coffins belong to Jesus and his family. Ever the showman, (Why does this remind me of the impresario in another movie,"King Kong", whose hubris blinds him to the dangers of an angry and very large ape?) Cameron is holding a New York press conference on Monday at which he will reveal three coffins, supposedly those of Jesus of Nazareth, his mother Mary and Mary Magdalene. News about the film, which will be shown soon on Discovery Channel, Britain's Channel 4, Canada's Vision, and Israel's Channel 8, has been a hot blog topic in the Middle East (check out a personal favorite: Israelity Bites) Here in the Holy Land, Biblical Archeology is a dangerous profession. This 90-minute documentary is bound to outrage Christians and stir up a titanic debate between believers and skeptics. Stay tuned. --Tim McGirk/Jerusalem

Oh my, Thank you so much for sharing this. My head rolls with the thoughts of the conversations that will come up concerning this event. Now, they will call it a scientific fact that the Jesus everyone has faith in was dead and burried just like any normal human. I suspect that even some christians will face waves of doubt. Our christianity is a matter of faith, and in faith, He proves Himself faithful. wow, arg! stace\o/ |

Wow! Seems like this news is traveling. I just finished reading an email I had received before coming in CrossLight and checking out the posts. Here is that email which is in line with this: Kloner, the Iconoclast refuting the nonsense. Bar-Ilan University Prof. Amos Kloner Here We Go Again – Jesus’ Remains in N.Y. On Monday Editors Note: Talpiyot is the neighborhood that my wife Carol and I have raised our children in for the last 20 years. This story is literally “close to home” for us. Jerusalem, February 26, 2007 About every five years a sensational “find” rocks the world from the land of the Bible. The Ark of the Covenant has been found numerous times, wheels of the Egyptian’s chariots in the Red Sea, and other sensational finds. Each time there are gullible people who buy the stories only later to be severely disappointed by the facts, when they really come to light. Today we have a veritable earthquake spiritually. Monday, February 26, Oscar winning director James Cameron of (Titanic [the movie]) fame, and his counterpart, Simcha Jacobovici, an Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker and self-proclaimed archaeologist plan to unveil the remains of Jesus in a press conference in New York City. The tomb and ossuaries (what they have found remains to be revealed until the press conference), were uncovered some 20 years ago and the powers that be have deemed the time ripe for public scrutiny. The Discovery channel plans to air their film telling the exciting and tortuous story of the archaeological discovery. The story starts in 1980 in Jerusalem’s Talpiyot neighborhood, with the discovery of a 2,000 year old cave containing ten coffins. Six of the ten coffins were carved with inscriptions reading the names: Jesua son of Joseph, Mary, Mary, Matthew, Jofa (Joseph, identified as Jesus’ brother), Judah son of Jesua (Jesus’ son - the filmmakers claim). The first clue leading to a reality check are the credentials of those claiming the discovery. There are no valid archaeologists attached to the project. Filmmakers who can easily pull together $3 to 4 million U.S. And run off into the sunset of speculation should not be treated with the same honor as are careful archaeologists who have paid the price of believability. One such Professor commented on this find as far back as 1980. “Bar-Ilan University Prof. Amos Kloner, the Jerusalem District archeologist who officially oversaw the work at the tomb in 1980 and has published detailed findings on its contents, on Saturday night dismissed the claims. "It makes a great story for a TV film," he told The Jerusalem Post. ‘But it's impossible. It's nonsense.’ “Kloner, who said he was interviewed for the new film but has not seen it, said the names found on the ossuaries were common, and the fact that such apparently resonant names had been found together was of no significance. He added that "Jesus son of Joseph" inscriptions had been found on several other ossuaries over the years. "There is no likelihood that Jesus and his relatives had a family tomb," Kloner said. "They were a Galilee family with no ties in Jerusalem. The Talpiot tomb belonged to a middle-class family from the 1st century CE." Clear thinking is so refreshing in our muddled era. One only has to imagine a Nazareth family with tombs in Jerusalem to figure out how absurd this story really is. No one in the first century would travel with a dead body for several days to a family tomb. Kloner also mentioned that a similar film was released 11 years ago, and said that this current film was merely a renewed effort to create controversy in the Christian world in order to make a bigger profit. The present Jacobovici documentary comes more than 11 years after similar speculation about the so-called Jesus family tomb made world headlines, prompting a London Sunday Times feature entitled "The Tomb that Dare Not Speak Its Name" and a BBC documentary. “I refute all their claims and efforts to waken a renewed interest in the findings. With all due respect, they are not archeologists,” Kloner said, referring to the filmmakers. According to him, the names inscribed on the coffins were very common in the Second Temple era, and as such were not sufficient proof that the cave was the burial site of Jesus' family. So, as the story will undoubtedly send shockwaves through the Christian world, the truth of the matter is being posted all over the internet. One can only send up a prayer of thankfulness that we are no longer victims to media hype of this nature. Sorting through the massive amount of information at our disposal is also not too difficult. Noted archaeologists and their blogsites, Israel Department of Antiquities web site, and other such resources help us fight the battles that seem to be trying to undermine the faith of Christians in these last days. Ron Cantrell Shalom Shalom Jerusalem Ministries Jerusalem, Israel ----------------------------------- Fahter, we ask that You expose any lies that are coming out against Your Son. Let Your truth be revealed, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. In Him, Joan |

Yes, Lord, expose the lies and reveal your truth. I agree in Jesus Name. I like this statement:
I don't believe the 'world' is dumb, but I do believe they can be veiled. But I also believe we have a weapon, prayer, that can break that blindness. stace\o/ |
