Round 1
I have an old yellow cat named ,you guessed it, Morris. He’s a really loving cat who will give kisses if you scratch his tummy. We get along really good until I get on the computer, LIKE RIGHT NOW, then the fight begins. As soon as I get the computer booted, here comes Morris. He jumps on the keyboard by the side of the computer desk, then slowly tries to ease his way onto my lap. I’ll push him back and yell at him; and he’ll wait a few seconds, and then crosses over onto the computer desk and try for my lap from the computer keyboard. I’ll wave my hand in front of his face to keep him back. As soon as I stop waving my hand, he’s on the move again. Anything to get into my lap! Finally, after a five minute fight, I give up and let him sit in my lap.

Round 2
That’s when he starts purring and kneading my legs. Morris has really sharp claws and that doesn’t go over with me really good. So I end up picking him up and putting him on the floor.

Round 3
After a minute of thinking the whole situation over, Morris is back up on the keyboard for the next Round.

Round 4
What has this got to do with our walk with God? Persistence pays off. Morris ends up winning my undivided attention by his persistence. How persistent are we speaking victory to our mountains? In praising our Father for promises in His Word?
We tend to give up after the first or second round and think, “Well, it’s not going to happen.” No, we must continually speak the solution to our problems which is God’s Word.

Round 5
Sometimes the break through comes quickly, other times it is a show and building of faith. Whether we have to speak to our mountains 1 time or 1,000 times, we need to have the persistency to stand on God’s Word

Round 6
Psalms 1:2-3 says: But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Round 7
I’ve looked at these verses and meditated on them. I think about a tree growing by a rivers edge. Yes, there is plenty of water to feed the tree and make it grow and flourish and produce fruit. There is another meaning there, too. A tree growing along side of a river must put down strong roots; strong roots will anchor the tree in place against the flowing waters otherwise it will be loosened from the bank and washed away.

Round 8
How do we strengthen our roots of faith? In verse 2 it says “By meditating on God’s Words day and night.” Meditating means thinking about the words, and speaking the words loud enough that your ears can hear them, that gets them anchored into our spirit.

Round 9
I can hear the ring announcer….:drum Ouch….. proclaiming……Ouch…..”After 9 Rounds, the Winner and New Heavy Weight Champion is”…..Ouch!....,you guessed it…”Morris!”
He is now in my lap, purring and kneading away. Ouch!
Now do you have the persistent faith to go all the rounds it takes to win the battles in your life?
Ouch! :nosay

Cats are wonderful and very persistent.
It is a good comparison. Thanks.
I pray that we, as the Body of Christ, will be persistent in the things of God.
It is easy to get side tracked.
Maybe we should remember the "claws" and let them prick our hearts to be
diligent.

Did you know that the Nightingale Bird will perch itself up
against a thorn in a bush to keep itself from resting too hard and
neglect it's duty to sing? That is impressive. God is good.

No, I didn't know that. That's an interesting fact.

Jesus talks about enduring until the end. That's persistency.
