Oil and Meal. Maybe Gasoline?

1Ki 17:14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.
1Ki 17:15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
1Ki 17:16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

Do you think the Lord still does these kinds of things? Do you think that He would do them in our lives? I guess we might not need oil and meal, but perhaps gas in our automobiles.

This lady was just about to cook her last meal for her and her son. Things were really bad all around them. The drought was turning the land
into a waste land and she was ready to die. I'd say it was a serious economic reccession. Wouldn't you?

Well, our Heavenly Father has not changed. He still takes care of His own. It shouldn't surprise us if we find out that the gas in our tank never runs dry. I read this story to get a better understanding of the One I call my Father. I get to learn just a little more about His personality, His nature, and His way of doing things. This lady was taking care of His prophet and the Lord took care of her. Pretty cool huh?
