Did you know that hearing the Lord does not always mean that it will be a serious and life changing conversation? Have you thought about His sense of humor? I was praying with a friend the other night and we did what we learned from Cindy Jacobs. After prayer, we called forth the Lord's Spirit of prophecy. We learned that on one of Cindy's old tapes that we watched years ago. Anyway, so after prayer, we sat quietly and ask the Lord to send forth His Spirit of prophecy via words, understandings, or visions. And then we waited. (By the way, I had quietly asked the Lord to speak to us about the Tropical Storm Fay) It did not take long before both of us had received a visionette from the Lord. My friend received a vision of a dandelion, and I received a vision of an eye. After we let each other know what we had received, we thanked the Lord and then shared what we had received. It was then that I told my friend that I had asked for a word about Fay. We got a pretty quick understanding of the visions in context to the storm. I had an eye. The weather people at the time were talking about how Fay was gaining strength over land and that she had an eye. And the dandelion? Well, it is common knowledge that they are very hard to get rid of. They may be cute, but they are a weed that just hangs around or comes back no matter what you do. So.. the interpretations goes like this: Lord, what do you have to say about Fay? Answer: She hangs around and won't go away. (The eye was a confirming factor that what we were receiving was in context to the storm.) We both laughed. It was good to hear the Lord talk to us about a storm in such a natural way. I know that there were many who suffered loss and damage in the storm. I feel for them and do not think lightly of their suffering. But, in context of where I am located in Florida, and all the news that was going around, the Lord's answer was just perfect. Now, a side note: Why do we do this type of thing? Why ask the Lord to send forth His Spirit of prophecy? Well, it is like I mentioned before. We learned it from Cindy Jacobs years ago. Doing this little exercise really helps build your confidence in being able to understand the Lord and what He is saying. I don't always understand what a symbol means, or how it applies, but I look for confirmations to what I receive from Him. Like today in prayer this morning, I heard the Holy Spirit say, "get your coat and hat." I saw a man in a hat and long overcoat step out into the wind. He had to hang onto his hat because the wind was so strong. Well, later today, they raised Invest 94 into a Tropical Storm and they are watching to see if it is going to come to Florida. Where in the natural it may be too early to tell where a storm is going to go, but in the Lord, we can hear Him give us advanced notice. Is this what this vision means? At this moment, I am not sure. I will keep seeking for an answer and know that He will let me know. ![]() stace |
