Psa 82:7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

1Co 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

I ponder over Francis Frangipane's letter that he sent out to the body of Christ apologizing for allowing the Christian faith to be discredited by all the sins and mistakes of our leaders. He sent out a letter that apologized to us all just as we have seen Christians ask for forgiveness
to the Indians for our past sins towards them as a nation, or like the people of other nationalities for our involvements in the crusades.

In the letter, he also asked why leaders are allowed to get away with sin and keep on preaching, where the accountability is for the way leaders are representing Christianity. He refers to Ted Haggard and Todd Bentley and others, and then specifically how the leaders who commissioned Todd should have known that something was not right.

Should have known? I have read where many are saying that they 'knew something was wrong." And I have read where others are testifying that going to the Lakeland Revival has changed their lives for the better. Even in my own life I have been a part of both ends of that kind of situation. Our guests came to the revival from way up north, yet I was never led to go to the revival. I know my guests were led by God to come just as much as I know that I was not led to go, and I live about 20 minutes away from Lakeland. Do I believe that one of us were wrong? No. I don't. Do I understand why I was not led? No, I don't. I only understand that there is an element of a second wave that I will be a part of, I understand nothing more. But, here is what gets me. We are hearing of all these problems that Todd had from before the revival, didn't God know about it? And if God showed up, isn't that suppose to be a good thing? Let me share with you one of the things that really bothers my heart. We can find it in Psalm 82.

Psa 82:1 A Psalm of Asaph. God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.
Psa 82:2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
Psa 82:3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
Psa 82:4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
Psa 82:5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
Psa 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
Psa 82:7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
Psa 82:8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

I will start at the hardest part, verse 7. "But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes." The first thing that rang out to me was what is written in 1Co 3:3 "For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?" And then another verse in I Cor 11 where Paul is talking about the Lord's supper and how the Christians meeting there were not walking in love toward each other. Remember the strife and selfishness? One would eat and get drunk while another would go without food. It was a mess. And Paul said that for that reason, that they were not discerning the Body of Christ as they were gathered together, that many would die (go to sleep).

Psalm 82, verse 7, says 'ye shall die like men." This is in contrast to the "congregation of the mighty" mentioned in the first verse. So, how are we suppose to act? With division and stife among us? No. I believe it is killing us. How are we going to stop the division and strife? My answer is to hear God and do what He says. I have no idea how to stop the division and strife throughout the Body. I do good to keep my own mouth shut sometimes. But, I do know that the Lord will not led us into division. He wants us to walk in love toward one another. It takes some growing up to walk in peace with some people, I am sure we all know someone that pushes us beyond patience making it necessary to walk away and come back another day. But, perhaps that is the answer, walk away and come another day. That is something each of us will have to determine at the moment in time of the problem.

So, lets continue to try to get along and live in peace. That means keeping our eye on Jesus and staying in His footsteps to the best of our ability, and let the others around us do the same. That is why I think hearing the voice of God for ourselves will give us all the answers we need. Granted, sometimes I don't think He answers my demanding questions fast enough, but He is the perfect Father and always answers them in due season. His due season. :)

And, in addition to walking in peace, we are admonished to "Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
Psa 82:4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
Psa 82:5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course." (3-5)

The devil blinds us. Let's help each other 'steady the foundations of earth' and our faith.
Let's learn what it means to not "walk as mere men" nor 'carnally minded" and end up in an early grave. Even the world knows that strife
will kill us with heart problems and such.

Hear God
Walk like Him
Talk like Him
Think like Him
and live like Him.

Amen?

Amen!

Great post. Wish I had more time to post. Thought it was really cool that you talked about God's timing as that is what I mentioned to Billy when he was in the hospital Monday, that his healing is coming. God is seldom early but never late. Though we think his healing should have manifested by now, not getting worse, God has everything in control and in His timing, it will come to pass.

Granted, we do not understand why things are happening as they are but we are learning to rest in His hands, confident that He will not leave us nor forsake us. Already we are beginning to see beautiful fruit come forth from this. To God be the glory now and forever. Amen.
