Lord, we are in desperate need. This country has turned away from You in so many ways. We have followed after our own desires and done things our way rather than Yours. Even those who call themselves Your children are not following in the footsteps of Your Son, Christ Jesus. Rather than thinking more highly of others they look to their own needs and focus on that. You, Who have so richly blessed this nation, have been shut out of our schools and government buildings. Big business have lined their pockets rather than considering the poor and needing. Innocent blood has been shed daily as abortion is not only condoned in this nation but encouraged. Marriage which is called sacred by You between one man and one woman has been mocked by those who want marriage to be between two men or two women. Respect for parents and authority is becoming a pasttime. Responsibility of a mother and father to raise their children is often left to the mother alone and children and left without the duo parental guidance in place. We no longer pray for our governmental leaders, rather we curse them. This is because we looked to them to run this country rather than to You to guide us. Oh God, our sins are many. We'd be a fool to deny them. Rather, let us confess our sins and humble ourselves before You, seeking Your face and Your will for our lives. Please forgive us for our selfishness, our pride and our arrogance. Who is man but the dust of the earth. Nothing in this world can profit us. Yet we have sought after it with both hands open to receive but hearts closed off to You. Forgive us, oh God, for we have sinned against You and You alone. Hear our hearts cry of repentance here in America and help us to turn from our sins. Let Your Spirit move mightily over this nation and restore us back to our heavenly Father, in Jesus' precious name we pray. Amen. |
