Acts 2:42, 43, the pulpit is and must be very powerful. - A church must have a very strong pulpit ministry. You can not start a church based on fear, scaring them into remaining with threats. You would have to maintain this fear forever, and when they overcame the fear, they would leave the church. Nor can you grow a church with "nice nice" stuff, always being nice and sweet, calling on each one, day after day, sending out personal invitations, because as the church grows, you would lose the members you are no long able to contact. A church must be established upon the pulpit ministry, upon the Word and the Anointing. It is the teaching and preaching that establishes growth. There also needs to be fellowship. Sometimes the cell groups, or home groups is the answer to this warmness that needs to be experienced by each member. We are family and we need each other. We need to feel that we are being backed, or supported by others of like faith when the times get rough. They must feel at home. |
