Thoughts Because we are a spirit within a body, there is alot about ourselves that we do not take into consideration. In Luke 6.8, we see that Jesus understood their thoughts. They were opposing Him, and he knew it. Thoughts are real things. They affect us and those around us. Consider the situation between a man and wife who are fighting with each other, and how the children tremble at the onslaught of the argument. You can imagine the children covering their ears to block out the sound, but you never see them stand up and start playing again just because they have their ears covered. What is happening is that the atmosphere is being bombarded with darkness. If you are sensitive enough, you can tell when your husband or wife comes home from work if the atmosphere around him/her is clean and clear, or if their are things going on. That is what prompts one to ask the other, "everything okay?" Many of us are so inmature in this area of our walking in the Holy Spirit. We allow our thoughts to go unattended and allow them to bombard others with negative darts. That is why the Lord tells us in His Word that we are to take every thought captive unto the obedience of Jesus. Jesus will not sit there and allow Himself to think ugly thoughts about His neighbor. He has a purpose and a plan for each of us, includeing that neighbor. So, we need to catch these negative thoughts, which put out darkness, ie.. surrounds the person with a darkness that has come from within our spirits, and replace our negative thoughts with the thoughts that Jesus has of them. This is walking 'like minded' with Jesus. We also have to wear our spiritual armor at all times because others are having thoughts toward us to, and we do not want to conform to the thoughts of another as to whom we are to become. Don't buy the thoughts of others about yourself. Find the thoughts of the Lord Jesus concerning you and your life, and then guard your heart with this truth. And then, in the spiritual battle bombard the other person with the wonderful thoughts for their lives that Jesus has stored up for them. This is the spiritual warfare that is really going on behind the scenes. Lets put it this way. Everything you and I imagine is working on coming to pass. Matthew 5.22, the dangers of hell fire are real in the spiritual world. Eph 4. 24,25,26, speaks of the ways of anger and how it gives place to the devil. When we imagine evil toward our neighbor, we bring in the devil. We release dark light from within us, and this dark light attracts the demons. Instead, we must release the Love of Jesus. We must think as He things and allow His light to be released into their lives. |
